I had an amazing experience staying at this hotel! The location is perfect, nestled in the Old Quarter and just steps away from the Hoan Kiem lake and night market, yet without the usual restrictions on vehicle access. The highlight for me was the stunning pool and the sky bar, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city. It’s a great spot to unwind and take in the beauty of Hanoi from above. The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive. They even arranged a hassle-free airport pickup for only $16, which was a great convenience.
The only minor downside was some construction happening next door, but it didn’t significantly affect my stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its prime location, excellent amenities, and incredible views!

Clean but not very well maintained. We stayed in room 501 and the door cannot be closed properly without locking as the beam where the latch of the door knob hooks on was worn and only the door lock could latch it in place properly. The seams around the floor of the walls came off too. It's an old hotel but I was expecting a better maintained establishment as we stayed in another hotel few days back and that was better maintained and they both costs around the same price.
However, Splendid Grand is located in the central of Old Quarter. The staff were quite good in service, except the one that helped bring your luggage to your room and stood there expecting tips. From a country whereby tips giving is not a normal culture, this is quite weird given the blatant expectation.

I had a great stay at this apartment! The central location makes it very convenient to travel around, easy to explore the city. The apartment is clean, modern and fully equipped, just like home. A big plus is the shopping mall right next door, with everything you need, from shopping, dining to entertainment. The host is very friendly and helpful, always ready to help. My partner and I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, it was not the experience we were hoping for. The hotel’s facilities are quite old and don’t match the pictures shown online. The gym, swimming pools, and private pools were especially disappointing – they felt neglected and depressing. The whole place is in desperate need of an upgrade.
One of the scariest moments during our stay was when we returned to our room and found the door to the room next door unlocked. The balcony was open, and there was something under the blanket on the bed. We were understandably alarmed, so we reached out to the staff, who told us it was under repair. A heads-up about this beforehand would have been appreciated to avoid the unnecessary panic.
The bellman was the only staff member we saw doing most of the work, and he looked extremely tired. We genuinely hope the hotel isn’t understaffed and that they’re taking care of their employees. When we reached out to reception about minor issues, like not being sure if the shower head worked, it seemed like he was the only one dealing with everything. It’s clear the staff is overworked, which made the whole experience feel less enjoyable.
Additionally, the heater for the shower wasn’t very warm, which made taking a shower uncomfortable. It’s frustrating when basic amenities like this aren’t functioning properly, and it added to the overall disappointment.
On a positive note, the food at the hotel was excellent. They offer a variety of options, including Japanese, Hong Kong cuisine, a huge slab of cheese, and delicious Vietnamese dishes. If you’re staying here, the food is definitely something to look forward to.
The hotel is also located a bit outside of the city center, so if you prefer a quieter and less busy environment, that’s a plus. However, considering everything, I don’t think I would recommend this hotel, especially given the issues with the facilities, staff workload, and room conditions. There are definitely better options out there for the price.

L'hotel è situato nel centro storico ed è vicino a varie attrazioni. La reception e il resto del personale dell'hotel sono molto gentili e aiutano con le questioni relative ai tour locali. La vista dal bar sul tetto dell'hotel è fantastica. Il pho e le omelette per la colazione erano ottimi, così come gli altri prodotti, e i dessert e la frutta erano eccezionali.

This was one of our best experiences at a hotel anywhere in the world. We had so much gracious assistance from all of our staff, especially from Tan, who helped us enjoy our stay in so many ways. Our room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. All the food was delicious, including the amazing breakfast buffet. Tea and happy hour were so fun and memorable. We will definitely never forget our stay and look forward to staying at Sofitel in Hanoi again soon!

UUtente ospiteThis is my second time at the hotel. They have only been open a few months and I have felt the staff and management have taken on feedback and improved over time. I highly recommend the hotel based on the superb location, the newness, good breakfast, friendly and efficient staff, and openess to feedback. I will come again.
The only downsides are that there are some renovation works going on, this should only disturb you during the day and sporadically. Sound does travel so it's not completely silent in your room, I could hear next door using the bathroom and people in the corridor but it's to be expected. I am unsure as to what the standard of cleaning is but if I left something on the sofa/table or any surface, the staff left the things untouched and didn't clean around or under them. The bed was made, towels and toiletries were replaced but the room was not tidied up or made to look pleasing to the eye - maybe I'm asking too much or the staff were worried about touching my belongings.
All in all a great stay.

ZZhepingSebbene l'hotel sia piccolo all'interno, il servizio è decisamente a cinque stelle.
Ci sono circa 4 camere al primo piano. I letti e la biancheria da letto nelle camere sono davvero confortevoli.
La colazione è ricca di contenuti e voglio mangiare ogni opzione. Ci sono uova precotte, spaghetti di riso, bevande e caffè tra cui scegliere. Mi sento sempre pieno a colazione~
La sala spa annessa era molto pulita e i tecnici erano molto qualificati. È stato uno dei migliori massaggi con pietre calde che abbia mai avuto. Si consiglia vivamente di provarlo, dura circa 60-70 minuti.
L'addetto all'accoglienza alla reception ha fatto un ottimo lavoro, fornendo rinfreschi e riposandosi nella hall Al momento del check-out, ho ricevuto un souvenir inaspettato, che ha reso felici le persone. Sicuramente sceglierò nuovamente questo hotel la prossima volta che andrò ad Hanoi.
L'hotel è situato in un vicolo tranquillo e a pochi passi dalla vivace area urbana.

UUtente ospiteNel complesso è stato un hotel molto carino. Il personale è stato molto gentile e cordiale, ci ha parlato dei posti e dei negozi consigliati al momento del check-in e ci ha chiamato se avessimo avuto problemi a prendere qualcuno per il tour che avevamo prenotato. In particolare, la signora Quynhh e il signor VP mi hanno aiutato molto. L'interno era elegante e la camera era pulita. Abbiamo fatto colazione e cena al ristorante ed era davvero delizioso.
Questo è un hotel consigliato!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of spending a few days in Hanoi during the Tet holiday, and we were absolutely delighted with our experience at this hotel. One aspect that truly stood out to us was the exceptional level of service provided by the staff. Upon our arrival, Mr. Hieu Ha warmly greeted us, confirmed our booking, and personally escorted us to our room. Throughout our stay, he consistently went above and beyond to ensure that all guests were comfortable and satisfied. His friendly demeanor and genuine care for our well-being left a lasting impression on us.
Additionally, we had the opportunity to indulge in a spa session at their sister hotel, conveniently located just a short 5-minute walk away. Despite the closure of many establishments during the Tet holiday, we were in desperate need of some rejuvenation for our weary bodies. Thankfully, the sole receptionist on duty, Ms. Ngoc Pham was attentive and responsive, she skillfully managed to arrange an on-the-day booking for us and tirelessly catered to the needs of various guests.
The breakfast buffet offered by the hotel was equally impressive. In addition to the sumptuous spread of food available at the counter (not a lot but good enough), guests also had the option to order made-to-order chicken or beef pho, as well as eggs cooked to their preference. We were pleasantly surprised by the incredible flavors of the pho; it surpassed our expectations in every way.
The only minor drawback we encountered during our stay was the soundproofing of the rooms. Regrettably, it was not entirely effective in muffling the conversations and occasional coughs from neighboring guests, as well as the sound of doors closing.
Overall, our stay at this hotel was exceptional. While the spa experience may not have been the absolute best we had during our trip, the attentive and friendly staff made us feel genuinely valued and ensured that our every need was met.
