Hotel a 3 stelle in Cumbria, Regno Unito

Il personale dell'hotel ha avuto una bella vacanza di 2 notti dal 26 dicembre e ha dato conoscenza e consigli locali su dove andare a piedi... il colazione è stato un buon valore per i soldi e i servizi di catering per vegetariani e vegani. Non ci può essere parcheggio in loco, ma il parcheggio raccomandato disponibile al locale club di cricket per solo 2 sterline al giorno è a soli 4 minuti a piedi e conveniente. Grazie anche per tutte le comunicazioni prima del nostro soggiorno, molto apprezzato 😊

I have grave misgivings about hotels in the busiest parts of the Lake District, especially at holiday times. Obviously they will be relentlessly overcrowded, with harassed and unfriendly staff. I’ve wanted to go back to the Proper Lake District for a while though so took a risk on the King’s Head. It’s easy to find on the ear popping main road up from Grasmere, just beyond the impressive hulk of Steel Fell, close to Thirlemere. Parking anywhere in the Lakes is hideous and expensive. Not here. Relaxed and plenty of room. It’s a long building with a pleasant bar restaurant area and beer garden. I found a rather pleasant residents lounge where a lady called Jo checked me in and made me feel welcome. It does get busy with passing trade but the staff look after their residents. They flogged me decent real ale and Jura whisky (the proper stuff). Breakfast is briskly table served from a menu and is well presented. I didn’t eat otherwise there but the food is popular and well priced. The road outside is busy and a bit of a racetrack, and the occasional fighter jet roars between the mountains on low altitude practice, but the relentless bleating of the sheep opposite soon returns things to normal. I was a little sorry to depart, but the manager said he hoped I would come again. I believe I will, and will even bring my wife.

Booked last minute. Great location. Lovely rooms and breakfast was delicious Only criticism was water pressure for showers was poor and no blackout blind/ curtains so light was in the room very early

La stazione ferroviaria e il centro della città possono camminare. La stanza è molto pulita. La colazione sarà inviata alla stanza secondo il tempo stabilito. Le uova hanno diversi metodi di scelta. Ho scelto uova di guancia e latte di grano caldo, che è molto adatto alla china.A Windermere e Keswich hanno autobus diretti.

I arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist. As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water. The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems. I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area.

La proprietà e l'atmosfera sono bellissimi. La vista dal giardino del ristorante è molto piacevole e bella. La dimensione della camera, la dimensione della bagno e le strutture erano buone. Ci siamo trovati di fronte a un grande problema per essere precisi, che ci ha resi un po' triste. Pulizia - la stanza era pulita, tranne per il tappeto. Non si sentiva come fosse vuota. C'era probabilmente un animale domestico che rimase in quella stanza davanti a noi e c'era un sacco di capelli sul tappeto. Capisco che sia una proprietà amichevole per gli animali e non ho alcun problema con questo. Ma pulire la stanza correttamente prima del prossimo check-in è una aspettativa di base. Non potevamo salire sul pavimento senza essere coperti di capelli. A parte questo, tutto il resto era molto buono, la colazione era anche buona e il servizio clienti era molto gentile e ospite.

La posizione dell'hotel è grande. Il personale dell'hotel è molto amichevole. Il colazione era buono. Le mie sole denunce erano che l'ascensore non funzionava, il che significava tracciare il nostro bagaglio su due scale. L'acqua dal doccia era fredda e non era calda.   Tutto in tutto l'hotel è solo stanco e ha bisogno di qualche investimento e aggiornamento.

Senza dubbio, ho avuto un ottimo soggiorno, il George è unico Mentre, con un aspetto senza tempo, un magnifico edificio storico, ha caratteristiche moderne, e aspetti, che lo rendono molto confortevole. La migliore esperienza dell'hotel, ho avuto per anni, sono ansiosa di rimanere di nuovo, un fine perfetto per me La pausa di Natale.

Facility appears okay but staff were not friendly and supportive. We left a football Jersey shirt in our room and was told it was not there when we called later in the day. Myself and my wife had food poison after eating breakfast on the day we checked out. The Jersey shirt could not have disappeared because I slept with it overnight before we checked out. As I said before, the facility looks new but the staff, even including the cleaners were not friendly. I am an IHG member and I use holiday inn hotels almost every where I travel to and I know how they treat their customers. However, this holiday in express in Barrow-in-Furness surprised me as the staff attitude did not meet the standard of others I have stayed in. I am not impressed.
