Hotel a 3 stelle in Prefettura di Gunma, Giappone

Stayed for 2 nights in early Dec 2024. Booked the mountain view twin room with cypress bath which comes with both dinner and breakfast. The ryokan styled hotel is located diagonally opposite from the shibukawa bus stop and about 5 mins walk (turn right from the hotel) to the Ikaho stone steps around the mid section of the steps. The hotel is old ryokan style but well maintained and does not see much wear and tear. The lobby which is on the 3rd floor (ground level) is big. No shoes allowed in the hotel, guests have to deposit their shoes at the entrance. Staff were all friendly and polite though not all can speak well in English. They do go much more to make you feel at home. Yutaka is provided at the lobby. My room which is located on the 4th floor corner is considered big. Old styled ryokan kind of design but with western bed. Though the room is laid with tatami on the floor but can still hear people walking if they area heavy or run. Corridor noise does filter in as well but muffled. Unblocked view of the mountain as the hotel sits on an elevated hill. I would recommend to stay with mountain view. The cypress bath can fit 2 person but takes a while to fill, I rather go to the public onsen. Besides the usual amenities, they even provide face wash, face moisturiser, etc in the room. Safe box is provided in the room as well. Wifi seems weak. No place in the bathroom however to hang your clothes or towel. There is an indoor onsen on the first floor and an outdoor one on the 8th floor. The onsen are gender separated. They rotate the male and female onsen on the first floor though both has the same look and facilities. The onsen on the 8th floor has a nice view of the city but no shower facilities. There is a massage chair on the first floor as well. Breakfast and dinner are served on the 2nd floor. I would not say that this is the best, but definitely delicious and sufficient. Check in at 3 pm and check out at 10am which I find a bit too early. Hope they can consider to extend. Overall I would recommend this place to stay if you are coming to ikaho.

Esperienza favolosa che ha confermato le nostre aspettative e abbiamo avuto la fortuna di viverla durante il foliage con dei colori pazzeschi Il personale, gentilissimo, ci ha fornito degli yucata stupendi che ci hanno permesso di immergerci pienamente nel fascino antico di questo ryokan. La nostra camera era angolare, veramente grande e con vista sul torrente fantastica. La cena e la colazione sono stati ottimi e con svariate pietanze presentate magnificamente. Hanno soddisfatto anche la mia richiesta di non mangiare pesce. Infine, immergerci nelle acque calde dell'onsen di notte è stato veramente magico. Consigliatissimo!

Il personale dell'hotel è stato molto bello e utile. Conveniente al centro di yukatake, molti ristoranti vicino. Ci sono altri 2 hotel sorelle che si può godere liberamente il Onsen.

We had an amazing and relaxing stay! We truly loved it and had a wonderful night surrounded by serene nature. The view was absolutely beautiful — the lake is just right in front of the hotel! The place is spotless and very well maintained. But what truly made our stay special was the incredible staff. A big shoutout to Mr. Ozu, the General Manager, for going the extra mile with his thoughtfulness! When he learned that we were heading to the ropeway the next day (and that there were no bus trips on weekdays), he kindly offered us a ride. He was also genuinely concerned about our hike and overall safety — so heartwarming! Since we didn’t get the dinner package and there was only one restaurant nearby that closed at 4 p.m., we decided to get a takeout for dinner. My friend also asked if there was a nearby café to buy a cake for my birthday, but there wasn’t any. Later that evening, after we came back from the onsen, someone knocked on our door and surprised us with a complimentary cake! They said it was because we didn’t have dinner and they wanted to celebrate my birthday. Awwww! Such a thoughtful and sweet gesture! 🎂💖 In the morning, Mr. Ozu even gave us taxi numbers and the bus schedule for Yumoto Onsen, making sure our travel plans went smoothly. Truly amazing hospitality — we felt so cared for and appreciated throughout our stay! 🌿✨

Servizio eccellente. Darei 10 su 5 se potessi. Un membro del personale è corso fuori e ci ha chiesto se avremmo soggiornato al Ryokan. Molto utile per i viaggiatori smarriti e sopraffatti dal freddo. Ci hanno accolto calorosamente al nostro arrivo. Ci hanno spiegato le informazioni importanti nel miglior modo possibile in inglese, il che è perfetto. La camera era spaziosa. Arredata meticolosamente in stile tradizionale giapponese. Yukata e Obi forniti hanno reso l'esperienza ancora più immersiva. La cena è stata squisita. I piatti ci hanno dato un assaggio della cucina tradizionale giapponese. Il cibo era genuino (non sembrava cibo surgelato/in scatola/preparato), servito e impiattato con cura. C'erano 2 onsen, uno interno e uno esterno. Erano puliti e abbastanza spaziosi. L'acqua (credo) provenga dalla vicina sorgente termale ed è immensamente terapeutica. Il Ryokan era vicino al cuore della città e tutto era raggiungibile a piedi. Ci hanno gentilmente accompagnato al terminal degli autobus al momento del check-out (non abbiamo dovuto aspettare orari fissi) e hanno trasportato i nostri bagagli (pesanti). Nel complesso, abbiamo apprezzato molto il nostro soggiorno di una notte e hanno fissato un livello elevato per l'ospitalità giapponese.

Al nostro arrivo, ci salutiamo con i grandi membri del personale che prendono le nostre scarpe e ci forniscono le mutandine per portare durante tutto il nostro soggiorno. Il pranzo era stato servito come un grande corso composto da diversi piatti laterali e articoli principali, ma siamo stati appena scoppiati. Così siamo tornati nella stanza dopo cena per scoprire che i letti di futon, le letti di stile giapponese, erano stati creati per noi per rilassarci e dormire. Il colazione è un po' meno sofisticato, ma ancora molto più di quanto potremmo mangiare, ma per noi è impressionante in termini di sforzo necessario per farlo. Come al nostro viaggio, le nostre scarpe sono rimesse al lobby, che ci ha messo a disposizione, mostrando un livello di dettaglio molto attento in termini di ospite. Anche se la posizione è al suo fianco, anche se non hai una macchina da noleggio, lo consiglio ancora molto se si può trovare un modo.

Considerando che l'hotel è un po' vecchio, le 3 stelle per la pulizia si riferiscono alla vecchia struttura del Guy Side Onsen. Non è ben tenuta e tutto sembra vecchio. È a 10 minuti a piedi dal terminal degli autobus e altri 5-6 minuti da Yubatake. Un punto bonus è il trasferimento gratuito da/per Daitokon con gli orari degli autobus molto precisi. La camera è pulita, ma tieni presente che non è un hotel per non fumatori, quindi potresti sentire odore di sigaretta in camera. Fortunatamente, la nostra camera è buona. Nel complesso siamo soddisfatti del nostro soggiorno al Kusatsu Onsen Resort.

The surroundings are exceptionally quiet, making it ideal for relaxation or even a bit of meditation. It may not be the best choice for families with children, as there are very limited amenities catered for them. Service, however, was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond — when my rental car had a brake light issue, they noticed it before I did, stepped in to assist, contacted the rental company, and ensured it was resolved the very next morning. That level of attentiveness is rare. Location-wise, it is quite remote. There’s little within walking distance, so getting around or finding food requires some planning. But if you’re here for peace and an onsen experience, that quiet isolation becomes part of the appeal. A memorable stay overall, especially for those seeking calm, comfort, and genuine hospitality.

Il nostro soggiorno di notte in questo hotel a Kusatsu è stato semplicemente il migliore che abbiamo mai avuto in Giappone. Siamo arrivati un po' presto e ci sono stati permessi di entrare prima delle 3 perché c'era una stanza disponibile. Il servizio era eccellente e la stanza era spaziosa, completa con tutte le attrezzature che avevamo bisogno; anche se il doccia era situato in fondo al bagno privato, non era mai stato affollato, e io avevo tutto il bagno per me. L'hotel ci ha anche fornito yukatas, aggiungendo un bel toccamento tradizionale al nostro soggiorno. Il colazione è stato servito nella nostra stanza in mattinata, e il personale ha accolto con grazia la nostra richiesta di cambiare il tempo del colazione, perché volevamo visitare un uomo che si apriva alle 9:00. L'hotel era improvvisamente pulito e ci sono andati a letto come bambini quella notte. Voglio restare qui la prossima volta che visito il pragzon.Questo è un posto molto buono, grazie 😊❤️

Siamo arrivati presto (verso le 11:00) al ryokan e siamo stati accolti da una giovane receptionist molto disponibile che parlava un buon inglese. Ha preso i nostri bagagli, ci ha prenotato una camera al piano terra (mia moglie ha difficoltà a salire le scale) e ci ha consigliato dove mangiare e cosa fare. La camera era pulita e spaziosa. Il letto era comodo. Il ryokan ha offerto una semplice colazione a buffet (con nostra grande sorpresa e gioia). Si trova a breve distanza dallo Yubatake ed è molto comodo. Nel complesso, siamo molto soddisfatti del ryokan.
