Rats in restaurant On arrival the hotel is really beautiful - a small oasis tucked away with gorgeous colonial style. The reception staff were really lovely and made us feel welcome. The room was really nice - but there were a few things we noticed (which we let slide at the start) - massive dirty lipstick mark on one of our water glasses, filthy lampshades above the bathroom sinks, bed linen that didn’t feel particularly fresh and the robes as well had a slight greyish colour rather than bright white which they were meant to be. These were all minor things at the start which we didn’t even mention to each other but did notice. We then had our first night at the cocktail bar where our drink was served by the lovely barman (very polite and smily) - as we were drinking we saw a huge rat run across the terrace - we decided it was an island and maybe this is normal (although we really weren’t happy about it). We then were dining within the restaurant and again a huge rat was running towards the table. For us, this is not ok. We asked to move tables as we saw a rat and the waiters barely acknowledged it - didn’t offer any apology and then proceeded to avoid our table for the rest of the night. We informed the manager the next day who assured us he was aware and the rat had been caught, and to “give it a chance”. We weren’t offered so much as a complimentary drink. After dining in the restaurant again the second night and again seeing a rat - for us it was time to check out. Not only is it unpleasant seeing rodents running around while eating but I would say it’s a hygiene issue and makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and the safety of the food. The only concession we were offered was to not pay for the remaining nights that we would not be staying for. Really disappointing. On hindsight some things we would add about the whole experience: - Not a 5 star in terms of food, service or cleanliness - Staff really hit and miss - some very friendly some really rude and unhelpful - Rooms didn’t feel clean - Food was average - nothing felt fresh including breakfast - Quite stingey with water - water not replaced within our room (had to ask for it) We are now staying at a different hotel and haven’t seen one rat, so don’t think this is “just an island thing” as the manager stated. The service and food are also worlds apart which has really solidified that our review of 20 degres sud as completely justified - not a 5 star experience whatsoever.

This resort is an absolute gem! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The views were breathtaking—every glance out the window felt like a postcard come to life. Its location was ideal, offering both convenience and a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. The serene, quiet atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a relaxing getaway!

The friendly and professional staff were amazing at every hour, even with our late evening arrival. The facilities were beautifully designed and very well-maintained. Our room was spotless clean and had a welcoming feel. We ate at the large, main restaurant only for breakfast, but it had every food you can imagine, all presented nicely and very fresh. Even with a busy buffet, it stayed clean and organized. We booked dinner at ”East” the first night and the food and atmosphere was so good, we booked again for our final evening. The service was amazing and we met with the chef our final night when he prepared a special selection of sample plates. We also ate at the The Beach Restaurant, but not as impressed. It was busy, noisy with slower, cooler service. The menu had some fun selections, so we found plenty to eat. For our afternoon cocktails and snacks, we spent time with Abi at the Maison Lux cafe and bar - our favorite part of the hotel! Abi was the most attentive, gracious host and was an excellent representative of first class service at this hotel. The spa provided excellent massage services, but we were a little disappointed with the hot tub/ jacuzzi. It was cold and surprisingly stained and worn-looking compared to the rest of the excellent facilities. The steam room and sauna were nicely maintained and worked well. I usually try different places when I travel, but I hope to return to Lux le Morne again for a longer stay.

Un hotel fantastico sul mare con tutte le camere che si trovano davanti all'acqua. Il personale è amichevole e sempre disposto ad aiutare. Belle camere grandi con splendidi balconi. Il pranzo e il colazione erano anche molto buoni, con una grande varietà e un bel posto all'aperto. Tuttavia, credo che il personale di pulizia debba prestare un po' di più attenzione al pulizia. Siamo stati li per 6 notti e 3 notti dovevamo telefonare perche' non avevamo asciugamani, o non abbiamo ricevuto carta da bagno, o non abbiamo ricevuto i vestiti da bagno... e poi il custode ha preso almeno 20-30minutes per portare i prodotti. L'altra cosa è che mettono una sola vasca in una vasca doppia, quindi quando dormite ci sono molte volte quando non avete altro che una foglia e non avete vasca, forse cambiatela. Altrimenti non posso davvero lamentarmi di nulla. Ci sono molte sedie a spiaggia e ci sono sempre sedie a disposizione e è stato un luogo fantastico e rilassante.

Amazing stay at Salt of Palmar!!! Boutique, 16+ Hotel located on the east side of the island, on the first line. Great beach with amazing sunrises. Lots of sea activities are included with your stay. Quiet, spacious rooms. Great spa. Curated menu in the restaurant and opportunity to book a special dinner with a chef. Great wine and international cocktail selection. Professionaly trained staff and the management team lead by Mr. Med will make you stay exceptional

Beautiful location awesome property we loved it. One improvement can be, include Indian food in their breakfast buffet and Dinner buffet so that we don't end up disappointed with food next time with which we were quite disappointed this time. If not authentic Indian food atleast veg pizza will work, as most of the Indians like pizza.

Grande hotel familiare nella parte occidentale della Mauritius. Ci ritroveremo in una casa di proprietà, camere moderne e vista sorprendente! Abbondanti bar e ristoranti a carico di ala da scegliere. 2 grandi piscine con soggiorni confortevoli, eccellente servizio di piscina (bevande, pranzo) La spiaggia è una bella spiaggia, divisa in categorie con bar e ristorante per pranzo. Sicuramente consigliere questo hotel per la famiglia o per il soggiorno di coppie. Il cibo è eccellente! Grande selezione al ristorante principale che gestisce diversi temi per tutta la settimana Se ti piace il massaggio, il Spa Maritim è un dovere di visitare durante il tuo soggiorno. Puli, tranquilli e pittoreschi. Personale professionale e vari servizi! Il Turchio RIU è stato davvero uno dei migliori soggiorni che abbia mai avuto. Le camere erano incredibili spaziose, moderne e sempre senza spot. Potresti dire che molta cura va nel mantenere tutto a un livello veramente elevato. La spiaggia è assolutamente bella, con acqua chiara e un'atmosfera davvero rilassata, e la zona della piscina è proprio come impressionante abbondante spazio, grande vibrazione, e perfetto per il relax. Il bagno era anche un punto di riferimento, un posto così bello per spostarsi e rilassarsi. Il cibo era davvero più alto delle aspettative. Avendo molti ristoranti, tutto era sempre buono. In particolare, il bicchiere era facilmente uno dei migliori pasti del viaggio. Il personale, da una ricezione all'altra, era così gentile, amichevole e accogliente. Il livello di ospite era eccellente e l'intera esperienza si sentiva senza sforzo e piacevole. In generale, un hotel fantastico con grandi strutture, cibo fantastico, e veramente eccellente servizio sarebbe 100% ritorno.
