I come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them. The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits. Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape. There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water. The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. Our family stay at Janu Tokyo was outstanding and thoughtfully designed for traveling with children while maintaining a high level of luxury. The service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely family-friendly. The staff were especially accommodating to our children, helping us feel comfortable and well cared for without ever feeling intrusive. Requests were handled promptly, and the overall hospitality felt polished yet relaxed. The facilities are world-class and particularly well suited for families. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and practical, offering enough room for both adults and children to unwind comfortably. Shared spaces, wellness areas, and amenities were impeccably maintained and easy to enjoy as a family. Dining was another highlight. The food quality was excellent, with options that worked well for both adults and children. The atmosphere across restaurants felt refined but welcoming, making family meals enjoyable rather than stressful. The location in Azabudai Hills is a major advantage for families—clean, modern, and less chaotic than some central Tokyo districts, while still being very convenient. Everything felt safe, accessible, and thoughtfully planned. Overall, Janu Tokyo delivers a rare combination of ultra-luxury and genuine family friendliness. It is an excellent choice for families seeking a sophisticated yet comfortable stay in Tokyo, and we would absolutely return.

Questo è stato il mio secondo soggiorno in questo hotel, mentre la prima volta ho trovato l'hotel un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo. Non so cosa sia successo questa volta, ma il livello del servizio è calato. Siamo arrivati ​​verso le due (un'ora prima dell'orario ufficiale di check-in) e l'impiegato non ha accettato di farci entrare nonostante avessimo detto che venivamo da lontano con due bambini piccoli, uno dei quali dormiva in braccio a mia moglie. L'hotel dispone di una posizione conveniente con l'entrata della stazione Otemachi nello stesso edificio esatto intorno all'angolo. Abbiamo avuto una stanza di fronte al parco con una vista stupenda al sole e al monte Fuji. La stanza è pulita e spaziosa, tutto è necessario all'interno, il personale cambiato di tovaglioli ogni giorno. La stanza di fumo è intorno alla ricezione e è molto confortevole, poiché ci sono 2 macchine di vendita. L'unico punto di svolta - la piscina operativa è finita presto, che è un po' strano, perché camminare intorno a Tokyo non finisce di solito intorno a 6-7 pm. e sarebbe bello stretcherti le gambe dopo un lungo cammino nuoto in piscina prima di andare a dormire

La camera e il letto erano molto comodi, impeccabilmente puliti e moderni. La stazione ferroviaria dista 2 minuti a piedi; se si necessita dell'ascensore per raggiungere il treno, la passeggiata dura altri 6 minuti. Noi avevamo un passeggino. La colazione era un po' caotica, ci siamo andati durante il periodo natalizio, c'era molta gente! Tuttavia, i tavoli erano spaziosi, quindi nonostante la folla non ci si sentiva stretti. Buona varietà di cibo. Abbiamo cenato al ristorante giapponese teppanyaki. Delizioso, soprattutto l'insalata di tonno. Ho trovato il personale della reception un po' apatico: al check-in non ci hanno detto dove sarebbe stata servita la colazione né a che ora sarebbe stato il check-out. Si sono limitati a fare il check-in e basta, senza lasciare alcun biglietto personalizzato in camera. Quando ho detto di aver perso il telefono in un negozio a Tokyo, non ha mostrato alcuna empatia (era un membro dello staff occidentale), nessun gesto di disponibilità, molto freddo e robotico. Lo stesso vale per il concierge, un signore occidentale di una certa età, che ha dovuto usare Google Traduttore, il che è frustrante perché avrei potuto fare esattamente la stessa ricerca con Google Traduttore. Nel complesso, l'hardware è solido, bisogna solo perfezionare lo staff e infondergli un po' di personalità.

Abbiamo prenotato la camera gemella, ed è stato molto spazioso circa 32sqm. Confortabile soggiorno in generale e abbiamo utilizzato il parcheggio giornaliero che è ¥2,000. E 'molto conveniente soggiornare se avete una macchina, poiché è un po 'di distanza dalla città principale.

L'hotel purtroppo è al massimo un 3,5*. Motivi: 1) bottiglia d'acqua precedentemente bevuta per metà nel frigorifero, 2) acqua rimasta nella teiera e 3) peli rimasti nella doccia del bagno. Ciò che veramente abbassa il valore è la tariffa giornaliera per l'utilizzo della palestra. Piuttosto che un luogo per un allenamento veloce, la direzione ha deciso di offrire la piscina e la palestra come struttura ”spa” al costo di $ 42,00 per visita senza sconti per più giorni. Trattandosi di un trasferimento d'affari il cui tempo era limitato è semplicemente ridicolo giustificare la spesa per un'ora di allenamento che costa la metà della tariffa giornaliera di una camera d'albergo qui. Creare un centro di profitto per l'hotel può essere una buona decisione commerciale, ma è un servizio pessimo per un ospite. Inoltre, il concierge non mi è stato assolutamente d'aiuto nell'assistermi con un cosmetico che avevo dimenticato e la hall è almeno 85F. Anche il lettino non è comodo e non consiglierei un soggiorno qui.

We booked Park Hyatt very last minute due to issue with our original hotel that we booked in Tokyo. We travelled with a 3 & 4 years old and the hotel was amazing. The playground across the hotel is a big plus. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very welcome and the process was very seamlessly. We left the first hotel fairly early and knew we couldn't get into the room but our plan was to go through Shinjuku and knew we wouldn't be back until later that day. The hotel lobby is on the 41st floor, you can see the entire city view and at night the sight is amazing. The hotel location is about a 15min walk to Shinjuku station which is not bad and there is a shuttle that runs every 30min as well. Concierge was very helpful with everything during our stay. Breakfast service was professional and efficient. The staff were very friendly with kids and not snobbish at all. The hotel is an iconic place, most of the time we took a taxi or delivery they know the hotel by name. I highly recommend anyone that would like to pamper themselves in Tokyo. The hotel is a bit dated by the upkeep of the hotel is very good. Only thing that was a bit annoying was the light switches since it's not modern you can't control some lights individually.
