"Ho prenotato un soggiorno di 3 notti, il check-in è stato piacevole e tempestivo. Una volta raggiunta la stanza, il water era intasato, il vetro del bagno era ammuffito. Il resto della stanza era ok ma c'era un odore di odore proveniente dalla moquette. La TV era come un modello obsoleto e la ricezione era orribile e poco chiara, cosa che non otteniamo al giorno d'oggi se non negli anni '80 o '90. La colazione era davvero semplice, dovresti saltarla e non sembra quella di un hotel. Ho fatto il check-out anticipato di un giorno e ho prenotato un altro hotel perché non mi sento bene."

"We went on a 3 days 2 nights business trip with family in Penang. This hotel is located at Gurney bay which is such a very good location. We personally familiar with the surrounding there so it is easy to find food and travel.
The parking building can be accessed both from Gurney bay and Kelawai road which is very convenient.
Free parking is available in the building.
The parking space in front of the hotel charges 10 RM per entry.
We got a connecting room which is so comfortable for us. The hotel staff were very nice also.
Pros: The room is fully equipped with universal power outlets.
Cons: The shower is located in bathtub. It is quite slippery and inconvenient.
Overall, We had a very pleasant stay."

"L'hotel è in un'ottima posizione e si possono raggiungere a piedi le attrazioni vicine al centro storico. L'unica cosa che non mi ha soddisfatto è stato il rumore delle pulizie ogni mattina prima delle 6:00, i primi due giorni. Non sapevo se fosse il rumore proveniente dalla porta accanto o dalla stanza al piano di sopra. Il mio sonno ristoratore mattutino è stato bruscamente disturbato. La terza mattina sono andato alla reception per chiedere un cambio di camera, ma il cameriere mi ha detto di aspettare un attimo. Di conseguenza, sono andato dalla ragazza alla reception tre volte prima di ricevere la tessera della camera verso le 15:00. "Room was small but clean, cozy and comfortable. The only thing to note is that the room isn’t very soundproof — we could hear people passing by the corridor and doors closing loudly at midnight many times. Parking was challenging. Great location to nearby attractions and shops. Overall great 👍🏻"

"Love the design of the hotel. The room is huge by Penang standard and comes with lots of carpark. We had a really comfortable stay at Sho. The cons is the location which is located slightly away from the Center. The water pressure in the shower is sometimes too low. These are minor problems. Definitely will visit again"

"Camera di buone dimensioni con vista meravigliosa, si vedono sia le montagne che il mare. Gli edifici nelle vicinanze sono molto bassi, quindi si può vedere a chilometri di distanza. Personale professionale, soprattutto alla reception. Hanno un sorriso genuino e sono pronti ad aiutare. Direi che sono più proattivi di quegli hotel a cinque stelle in cui ho soggiornato a Penang e Langkwawi durante questo viaggio.

MM_KSE&O Hotel Penang exceeded our expectations! The hotel's colonial charm and luxurious amenities made our stay truly unforgettable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met.
The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, with stunning views of the garden or city. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, indulging in delicious cocktails at the bar, and savoring local and international cuisine at the hotel's restaurants.
The hotel's prime location in George Town made it easy to explore the city's cultural attractions, street art, and culinary delights. We highly recommend E&O Hotel Penang for its exceptional service, luxurious amenities, and unique charm.

Breakfast : 3/5
Bed : 1/5 (Very hard, had to ask the housekeeping to add on a topper)
Facilities : 3/5 (a bit disappointed on the creaking sound of the door)
Parking : 2/5 (basement parking is not stroller friendly)
Kids room : 0/5 (there’s a smoking odour in the room maybe from the ventilation)
Front desk : 1/5 (lack of professionalism, complain from 7am, attended at 8pm,the staff that help me checked in couldn’t speak in English properly and not even in Malay, very let down for a 5 ⭐)
I will rate it as good value for money if it wasn’t a 5 star hotel for the overall amenities which are much more available than a normal boutique hotel.
But overall not worth the price paid.
Background, I am a heavy traveler and had more than 20 trips per year on hotel alone so I believe my opinion is justified knowing the differences. We even extend the trip by booking at their partner hotel (boutique) and had better experience in fact.
Hope they can look into this😌 but I thanked the housekeeping and maintenance for attending to our needs 🩷

RRaphayInnanzitutto, un sentito ringraziamento al signor Vickneswaran del team di sicurezza per la sua calorosa guida e assistenza fin dal momento in cui siamo entrati nel parcheggio. È stato incredibilmente disponibile nell'indicarci dove andare e ci ha fatto sentire i benvenuti fin dall'inizio.
Con mia sorpresa, uno dei membri dello staff ha persino condiviso una fetta di torta e ci ha augurato una meravigliosa luna di miele: un gesto davvero premuroso! (Ero così commossa che ho dimenticato di chiedere il nome del personale). Momenti come questi hanno reso il nostro soggiorno davvero memorabile.
Nel complesso, il personale è stato sinceramente cordiale e disponibile e ci ha fatto sentire apprezzati durante tutta la nostra visita. Ho anche allegato una foto del delizioso biglietto di auguri che abbiamo ricevuto dal team: un altro dolce gesto che ricorderemo per sempre.
Grazie ancora a tutto il team per aver fatto iniziare la nostra luna di miele con una così calorosa ospitalità!

AAnna511Location is good, near the famous morning market Pasar Lebuh Cecil. The room cleanness and facility overall is not too bad. The bed is comfortable, shower is hot and strong.
However, there is some thing broken in the room, like the toilet hook is not useable, the shower head not user friendly (too low). If you shower more than 10min, it will flood.
However again, there is a big issue for travel who drive the car there. Cause the hotel is not prove parking. Even there is space in the hotel, but is still park at your own, caused there is no proper parking for customer. And I saw the city council did towing a car away due to illegal parking, can’t really relax and feel safe when your car is parked road side or not proper space in hotel.

UUtente ospiteLove how thoughtful the place was. Stayed in a queen bed private room, additional stuffs like a chair(you don't want to be lying on the bed when you're all drenched in sweat!), a dressing table and a dressing table chair, bathroom bag, bathroom slippers. (Refer to the photo attached)
Kudos to this place, one of the places that is ”what you see is what you get”!
Shared bathrooms were also cery clean n gendered
With washing machine and dryer available for guest use for free!
You could also iron at the washing machine area. Washing machine works perfect but dryer didn't really dry my clothes but its okay, hung it overnight with air conditioning and all good.
Even get to park my bicycle indoors and the front desk is 24H, suitable for people that checks in at odd hours! Water dispenser, fridge and microwave is also available at every floor!
Overall a very good experience! Would def come back again!

Abbiamo prenotato una camera doppia e ci siamo rimasti per due notti. Sebbene gli interni e la posizione fossero discreti per un hotel a 3 stelle, l'esperienza è stata complessivamente deludente a causa del servizio e della gestione scadenti.
Innanzitutto, la reception ci ha fornito solo una tessera per la nostra camera. Anche dopo aver spiegato che saremmo usciti separatamente, hanno affermato di essere a corto di tessere e di aver dovuto conservarle per gli ospiti in arrivo. Ho soggiornato in innumerevoli hotel nel corso degli anni e non mi sono mai trovato in una situazione del genere. Un amico che ha soggiornato qui anni fa ha avuto lo stesso problema, quindi è chiaro che la situazione persiste da anni. Le tessere non sono costose o speciali: l'hotel ha solo circa 50 camere, quindi non ci sono scuse per non averne abbastanza. A peggiorare le cose, fanno pagare RM50 per ogni tessera smarrita!
La nostra camera doppia aveva due letti singoli super, che potrebbero risultare angusti per gli ospiti più grandi, quindi è un aspetto da tenere a mente.
Un altro problema era la porta della camera, che non si chiude automaticamente. Bisogna tirarla e controllarla manualmente per assicurarsi che sia sicura, cosa che non ci si aspetterebbe da un hotel moderno.
La nostra prima mattina, il personale delle pulizie ha bussato e suonato il campanello alle 10:00 chiedendo di pulire la camera. Certo, ci siamo dimenticati di appendere il cartello ”Non disturbare”, ma le 10:00 sembrano troppo presto. Di solito le pulizie non sono programmate dopo mezzogiorno?
Non vale la pena pagare un extra per la colazione. Il cibo non era appetitoso e il caffè era pessimo, quindi abbiamo saltato completamente la colazione il secondo giorno.
Ciò che ci ha scioccato di più è stato tornare in camera e trovarla completamente aperta dopo le pulizie, perché non l'avevano chiusa completamente. Per fortuna non mancava nulla, ma a quel punto eravamo troppo esausti per sollevare il problema, soprattutto perché il personale della reception si era già mostrato riluttante ad aiutarci. Non potevano fornirci una tessera magnetica aggiuntiva, eppure in qualche modo non si sono fatti problemi a lasciare la nostra camera senza sicurezza. È una grave mancanza sia nella sicurezza che nell'assistenza di base agli ospiti.
In sintesi: nonostante gli interni gradevoli e la posizione favorevole, la gestione è decisamente carente. Per essere una struttura a tre stelle, il servizio sembra più quello di una a una stella. Con opzioni migliori disponibili a Georgetown, consiglierei di soggiornare altrove per un'esperienza più affidabile e curata.

CCHONG CHING3 Days 2 nights stay at Chulia Mansion Georgetown
We booked 2 superior rooms for 2 nights via trip.com for Rm644.40 or Rm161.10/room/night . We checked in to Room 207 and room 215 upon arrival.
Once the door of Room 207 was opened, a bad odour full of stingy smell appeared. We did not care to take action at that moment. We went out for good food. After coming back to hotel to rest, we tried to check whereabout the smell coming from, and to take action by closing the toilet door from that moment thru the night. Sad to say, the stingy smell was still there all night long, and I could not have a good night sleep thru the night while surrounded with bad odour.
On top of that, the toilet shower rubber hose was cracked and water rushed out during our shower in day time.
The following day, I went to the lobby to tell the hotel lady, all the facts and request to change to another room. The lady checked the hotel computer system and told me that the hotel was fully booked a night before once housekeeping was done, they will give me a new room. That was roughly 12 noon. So, they tell me to go back to stay in room 207 to rest, and to wait for her call.
At 12 something , one man knocked on my door and sprayed our room 207 with air freshener, changed the hose and left.
By 1pm, I was uneasy and I went to the Lobby to follow up with the change of room. The same lady was watching something like movie her table, I asked her why nothing done to call and inform me to change to a new room. She raised her head and looked at me and said that the housekeeper informed her that there was nothing wrong with the room.
At that moment, my temper was up and I told her firmly and repeatedly that i want to change to a new room.
The next thing happened was that we were checked into room 315. We were lucky and happy that room 315 has no bad stingy smell. However, the shower hose in the room 315 was rosak then again I told the lobby about the facts.
So, moral of my stay is to follow up with the LOBBY all issues and defect in the hotel room that I feel unhappy with.
The whole purpose of the stay is to get happiness and relax by paying cash that worth the value, and not wait until check out to complain.
Last but not least, room 215 facing the street also noisy due to the sound and noise coming from motorcycle , cars and vehicles during daytime outside street, and also live band, loud music and pub. You can also hear music and live band coming from the roof of Chulia Mansion building itself.
Finally, I think if you are a light sleeper this hotel definitely is not your choice.

UUtente anonimoLa posizione dell'hotel è notevole, ottima e comoda per andare ovunque. C'è un negozio per la colazione accanto al piano di sotto. L'arrosto di maiale e il pollo bianco sono fantastici, particolarmente deliziosi.
L'hotel è molto pulito e il soggiorno è soddisfacente. È una buona scelta se volete solo dormire e soprattutto uscire per divertirvi. L'unica di cui eravamo insoddisfatti era la cameriera che venne ad aprirci la porta. Era magra e indossava un piercing al naso ed era molto arrogante e scortese. La cameriera un po' grassoccia responsabile del check-in è stata molto gentile, così come il cameriere maschio che puliva la stanza.

Our room-105, only had 1 window but we kept it shut as faced back street and air conditioning units which hummed all day/night.also our room was behind wooden staircase so imagine foot traffic noise. Nice shower. Roof too sauna was more of a marketing gimmick as too hot to use! Reception staff were hit/miss but never rude. We would return to Penang and only choose Modern for its location-not that cheap really
