One of the oldest hotel along Gurney Drive but still among the best and cheapest in that area. Clean and friendly staff. Fair breakfast buffet spread. Free canned drinks and apples daily. Simply amazing hotel. We chose the seaview deluxe room and the view facing the bay was amazing. The new Gurney bay park is just in front of the hotel where you can jog and catch sunrise at the promenade. Evergreen Laurel is surely my favorite hotel in Georgetown and will come back here soon.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ascott Gurney Hotel and overall, it was a delightful experience. The hotel's prime location offers breathtaking views of sea side. The staff at Ascott Gurney Hotel were consistently friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed throughout my stay. Kudos to Ms Wen. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and featured modern amenities that added to the overall comfort. The attention to cleanliness was evident, and I appreciated the effort put into ensuring a hygienic environment. While there were many positives, one area for improvement could be breakfast. However, this did not significantly impact my overall satisfaction. In conclusion, Ascott Gurney Hotel is a commendable choice for travelers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would gladly recommend it to others and look forward to returning on my next visit to Penang.

We had a pleasant three-day stay at this hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location, situated between two large malls with plenty of shops and restaurants and within a reasonable cab ride to both George Town and Batu Ferringhi. The room was quite spacious but a little bit dated and worn down. It could use a refresh. The bed was very comfortable, however, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. We enjoyed using the beautiful infinity pool. Service was friendly and efficient. One area that could use improvement is the breakfast. Although there is a good variety of items offered, many just weren't very tasty. The best thing on the buffet was the homemade ice cream. Overall, this is a good place to stay when exploring the island of Penang.

I paid 150 RMB for high tea today and although the product was creative and a bit fun I left hungry. My main issue however was the service. It appears there was no manager on duty because the staff were messing about on their mobile phones and I had to always ask them for things because they were focussed on chatting and their phones. It wasn’t 5 star at all and having managed hotels the service was actually appalling. I found a bit of plastic in one of the dishes and the staff member just took it from me and threw it in the bin. No acknowledgement. Then I was waiting in the lobby for my cab and I can hear front desk staff laughing and messing about. They were only interested in messing about. I feel cheated by todays experience and I hope they get manager back on duty soon because today it was not being managed at all

The white elevator is very unique to this elevator. Tho it was slow but I don’t mind bec it so chic with glass door. Very unique indeed! Love it though I wasn’t able to take pic. 😒 +++ white elevator, water refilling dispenser, very spacious room & bathroom +++ location was quite away from the main action but there are 2 bus stops nearby, komtar & chowrasta are 5-10mins walk +++ they provide dental kit, small soap, nice shampoo/conditioner & body wash, mugs, electric kettle, safe, ref, ac was functioning very well, room telephone, tv but i did not use it +++ free wifi was good —- reception is not very friendly except for 1 Indian guy who promptly answers whatsapp tho he mistaken me for a guy at first 😄, the chinese receptionist hardly smiles, indian lady seemed to not know anything when you ask about tourist spots (i think hotel people should equip themselves with some knowledge on tourism. I mean there should be basic orientation by management on this. Times had changed and you need to have these extra customer service, just suggesting). —- i was in the assumption that cleaning is daily but i was told every other day but i still need to remind them about it. Entire hotel can use some improvement in the cleaning — no closet inside the room, you just have to hang your stuff —- my view was a huge wall —- soundproofing is bad, very noisy when people close doors or children running around. You hear toilet flushing from nearby rooms —- it was raining when I arrive and nobody offered an umbrella except on the second day when the janitor heard me. That was appreciated very much. It also made me realize that umbrella is a weapon for solo travellers so that made the carrying a little easier —- towels smell mushy maybe bec of rainy season —- sometimes bathroom had some drainage smells —- food choices was a little limited in area unless you walk for like 5-10mins. Overall stay was still on the good side. I had way worst stays than this. I did enjoy my solo trip to Penang and would love to go back. I plan to stay next time near the street art areas where the actions are. I would still recommend le embassy to other travellers.

I love the hotel so much !! The staff are so friendly. The place are so nice. Untuk yang nak pergi travel dgn member and nak duduk hotel murah but nice you can go here !! Sumpah best. Sekeliling hotel banyak kedai2 yang famous takyah susah-susah bayar grab. Jalan kaki je weh terus sampai.

Per la prima volta alloggio all'hotel VOUK. Non è sicuramente l'hotel più lussuoso, ma per il punto di prezzo, vale la pena un soggiorno. Pros: La posizione è perfetta, con molti piaceri locali all'interno della vicinanza (2-3km lontano). La receptionista e tutti gli altri membri del personale dell'hotel sono in gran parte amichevoli, tranne che non sono molto fluenti in inglese e la comunicazione può essere un po' difficile. Coni: Le strutture non sono molto complete e la pulizia può essere migliorata, i tazze non sono stati lavati e il pavimento di pavimento non è stato vuoto. P.S. Non consiglio l'odeno dal salone. Abbiamo aspettato 45 minuti anche se eravamo l'unico cliente nel salone. Le noodle non erano cucinate e la tom Yum sepoltura era fatta di olio.

In Zhuang, vicino al consolato reale della Thailandia, l'hotel di ricamo è stato dimostrato una scelta ideale. Arriving in the hotel and checking in was simple, friendly and fuss free. They were kind to my requests and assigned me a high floor sea view room, thank you. JASMEEN at the front office is very helpful, friendly and kind. My room is beautiful and the size is just nice, i only wish the bathroom has a view instead of sealed up in frosted glass. The spa and swimming pool is on the 11 floor, the pool is very refreshing to swim in the afternoon, but it would have been nicer to face the sea than the city. Breakfast is very delicious, the host Mr.BALU is always there, smiling and guiding you to your table. BOHARAJ also serves everyone with a smile. I enjoy my stay here very much for 5 days and 4 nights. I will stay here again when i come back to Penang. The location is very good as it is just a short walk away to all the great street food !

Pros: spazioso e adatto per grandi famiglie. Cucina è dotata di molte utilità e vista super bello. Excelente connessione WiFi. 12 minuti a piedi dalla Plaza Gurney. Cons: Il controllo in corso è stato molto disgustoso. Trip.com non ha esposto nome o numero di telefono dei nomi degli ospiti. Abbiamo dovuto ottenere il numero di contatto dalla guardia di sicurezza all'arrivo. Il personale apparve a tre ore per passarci il controllo in carta e parcheggio. Prenotato 12 3A ma finito abbiamo 8 3A lo stesso giorno. La pulizia era 3/5 quando abbiamo visto il cazzo in sala soggiorno. L'aria condizionata nella stanza principale gonfiava tutta la notte e disturbava davvero la nostra qualità del sonno. Quando abbiamo chiamato il fotografo, ha informato che il tecnico ha riparato la mattina.
