UUtente ospiteIl prezzo è raddoppiato e il hotel vive molte volte.Si è sempre sentito bene. Molti anni dopo sono tornati, e penso che il servizio complessivo e la qualità della cibo dell'hotel siano molto peggiori.In particolare, il servizio può non essere abbastanza personale in autunno, ma è anche un ottimo hotel . Prenota un hotel è un bene per non avere alcun errore, altrimenti non è molto parlare di gente solo guardare soldi!

Cc.lee.bStayed 4 nights at Celestine with my mom in a Twin Room. We chose this hotel due to it's location in Gion - and after walking around Kyoto and seeing other areas, we are happy to have chosen Gion. The early morning walks and after-sunset walks are magical in this area and we did them every day.
Hotel staff are great - always willing to help. They assisted us with checking availability of tea ceremonies and restaurants. Public bath is great - I used it nightly. Very warm, very peaceful and discrete. A highlight.
Breakfast was another reason we chose Celestine - great reviews online. Most places in Kyoto open 10/11am, some even at midday. Finding breakfast is difficult, unless you're happy to eat 7-eleven. Breakfast was varied and delicious. The tempura was fantastic. Salmon, miso, salads, yoghurt, honey, fruits, pumpkin, broccoli, eggs, pastries, sausages, bacon, mini toasts with toppings, coffee, mixed juices. Worth it to have the convenience of breakfast included, especially with early mornings, the breakfast starts at 6.30am. Only downside was the harsh lighting overhead - directly in eyes and over faces. Lighting needs to be indirect/redirected for it to be enjoyable and calming.
If you're a morning matcha-needing person, Kafe Coffee is a 7 minute walk away - they open at 7am with amazing matcha.
From the hotel, we walked mornings and evenings. and proximity to Kiyomizu-dera was a few minute walk away. Seeing the temples and winding streets almost exclusively before and after crowds was highly valued.
Concierge services and taxi assistance is needed in Kyoto - easy to get assistance with at Celestine.
Aesthetically, the hotel tends to be quite dark. It's a 'hushed' tone more than a peaceful one. Skews more towards business hotel than holiday retreat - materials, lighting, furniture. Personal insight.
Hotel beds were comfortable enough and pillows typical Japanese small pillows - oh what we would pay for oversized soft pillows for a good sleep :)
The shower bath area would be the primary drawback - dark black plastic is more masculine than peaceful. Room TV was tiny - didn't expect to comment on the TV as we don't typically watch it but after 25,000 steps during the day, you want to put a movie on and zone out. For an overwhelmingly foreign clientele, all electronic fixtures like remote, AC are in Japanese. TV has an English menu when you can navigate to it, however there are only local channels with one CNN channel. Movie channel, like other hotels, would be most welcome.
Celestine is recommended for location in Gion. The upside is proximity to Kiyomizu Dera and gion streets. Very clean. Great breakfast. Wonderful staff. Public bath a highlight.

UUtente ospiteLa posizione era incredibile, proprio oltre il Museo d'Arte di Kyoto e circondato da un bel quartiere commerciale. Le camere sono spaziose e moderne e ho scelto uno con lavastoviglie/siccato nella stanza perché sono in viaggio per 2 mesi con una valigia Carry-on!! Il personale è utile (quasi troppo) e molto giovane. Il ristorante dell'hotel in front era molto buono (Curdo).La mia unica denuncia è che le camere sono sostanzialmente più costose sul loro sito web e prenotare attraverso Trip ha risparmiato denaro, ma mi ha costato di raccogliere qualsiasi punto. Da quando sono più costose le camere sui siti web/app dell'hotel?

AAnnaLogI stayed at this amazing hotel second time on my trip to Kyoto! I love everything: delicious breakfast, an option to make my own coffee , the drink service with snacks they provide in the afternoon, and the best - is sauna where I can relax after a busy city exploration day! Highly recommend this place !

AAiliÈ un bel posto per soggiornare con un fantastico bar di tetto. La posizione è ok, non lontano dal tempio Kiyomizu dera, ma ancora parecchi autobus dalla stazione di Kyoto. L'hotel fornisce autobus per la stazione di Kyoto, ma solo consente il trasporto dei bagagli. Il colazione dal menu a la carte è principalmente omelette, quindi probabilmente si annoia dopo aver provato per due giorni consecutivi. Il caffè drippa fornito dall'hotel è sorprendente. In generale, una buona esperienza di soggiornare in questo hotel. Il bonus va ai prodotti di cute che hanno fornito gratuitamente.

XXiaomai935La scelta più corretta per il mio viaggio a Kyoto durante le vacanze del Primo Maggio è soggiornare in questo hotel. La posizione è ottima, proprio accanto a Kyoto Takashimaya a circa 6 minuti a piedi da Kamogawa e dalla stazione di Kyoto. Prendere un taxi costa circa 1.300 yen. Sono particolarmente grato all'hotel. Poiché non sono riuscito a prenotare la stessa camera quadrupla familiare in tempo, l'hotel mi ha spostato nella stessa grande camera gratuita. Insieme all'ambiente pulito, il nostro viaggio è stato pieno di sorprese Successivamente sceglierò di nuovo questo hotel quando verrò a Kyoto.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard.
However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements:
1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue.
2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition.
3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience.
4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated.
5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space.
6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering.
In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction.
If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.

UUtente ospiteThis was one of the most beautiful hotels that we stayed in anywhere. It's beautiful! Lobby friendly staff were wonderful. Like most hotels in Japan they don't offer any accommodation in terms of late checkout, but it was a beautiful hotel. Nonetheless. The garden the grounds were great. It wasn't close to very much, but if you take a cab it's about 5 minutes from anything that you'd want to see as a tourist. Thank you for the time and the memories

UUtente ospiteMy stay here was fine! 15min bus ride from Kyoto station was very handy. And it’s right around the corner from Kiyamizu-dera temple; a popular tourist spot, and a great place to hit if you haven’t already got it on your itinerary. The only real issue - which is colouring my review right now - is that I got pretty awful sleep here. Top bunks don’t have a ‘roof’ covering the bed, so light and noise is more disruptive than usual. Basic facilities, nice common areas on the first two floors for those feeling social, and has a laundry and dryer (which was great for me needing to do two weeks of travel laundry, LOL). In any case, would recommend! Just be aware of your sleep.
