THE GATE HOTEL KYOTO TAKASEGAWA by HULIC

I cannot compliment the Gate Hotel enough! Set in the heart of Kyoto, it’s 20-30 mins walk from major touristy spots! And on both sides of the hotel, it’s a foodie’s heaven as there’s heaps and heaps of restaurants surrounding! The hotel itself also has some very fancy restaurants overlooking the city with a fabulous view. In terms of service, I was amazed by the staff as this was the first hotel which not only had a check in time earlier than other hotels which is 3 pm but they said our room was already ready and even let us check in early without me asking. So far from my experience other hotels were quite strict to check in times and not allowing early check in. The room itself was also comfortable and spacious enough for 2 people and it was pretty good that they had the bathroom and shower seperate which is a bit convenient when more than one person is staying in the room. Furthermore, the hotel has monthly events on specific dates and we were lucky enough to experience an amazing show with the highest order of the Geisha’s giving us a spectacular performance which was also complimentary for the hotel guests. Generally, when I visit the same city twice I like to experience different hotels but it’s safe to say that on my next visit to Kyoto il definitely be staying at The Gate Hotel Kyoto Takasegawa by HULIC!! 7 on 5 rating easily

We really enjoy our 3 night stays at The Gate Hotel Kyoto Takasegawa. The location is amazing convenient and the facilities is modern with history. The afternoon lounge is welcoming and a fun place to hang out with nice complimentary drinks and snacks. Not to mention the wonderful breakfast which is delicious and high quality in both Japanese and western style. I would love to come back again while I visit Kyoto next time.

OMG I stay in a lot of 5-star hotels yet this one blows me away. Perfect location for everything, amazing room and amenities, and great staff. Very cool neighborhood close to a large number of transport options. Hotel is huge, sparkling and efficient. THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY IN KYOTO.

Great hotel with great services especially at the guest lounge and turn down trolley services at night.. We will definitely come back again and highly recommended 🥂

Excellent service rendered and super impressed with staff. Check in was very smooth and overall experience was great. The bed was really comfortable. Will be back again.

The room and location is very good, we have spent 30 mins in its lounge, it was good until some not respectful guest around, ten of them just shouting in the lounge and … if the staff of the lounge can at least ask them to be more respectful in the common area

Excellent location and many restaurants downstairs. A public car park just locates opposite the hotel, very convenient! Free cotton candy served, my kids love it very much!

Enjoyable, beautiful and nice ammenities. My 3 or 4th stay at this Kyoto location. Beautiful views, great lounge with lots of perks (happy hour all day), and an outdoor fire pit. Beautiful bar/restaurant on 8 floor lobby. The rooms are quite comfy with nice towels, bath products, good hot water, comfy bed and linins, sleep wear, green tea and a Nespresso with your own coffee pods of good quality. Luggage storage. Easy two block walk to bus anywhere in Kyoto or Arashiyama (bamboo forest). I like the bus rather than underground subway, you get to see many areas of the city. Go to the best Wiskey Bar run by Akira across the river near Opera House called the Retro Pub 158-2 Tokiwacho, Higashiyama-Ku. You will have lots of fun with locals.
