JJamie333The service was incredible. Everyone went out of their way to help me and make my trip as relaxing and fun as possible. Everything available was included in the price. They had a lovely selection of drinks and food available at all times. The room is so beautiful and the view is phenomenal. Breakfast was also delicious. Very close to the railway station. Tourist destinations are a little far.

The moment we made the booking, the service desk was extremely responsive, addressing all our queries via WeChat.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by two staff members who waited patiently for us despite the chilly breeze. They efficiently took care of our luggage, ensuring a seamless check-in process.
The rooms offered breathtaking views and a refreshing breeze, further enhanced by the delightful welcome tea break snacks. The rooms were well-equipped with essential amenities, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches, including a projector that allowed us to enjoy a fun karaoke session.
To top it all off, the staff even prepared an early breakfast for us, which was truly appreciated.

UUtente ospiteHo trascorso due settimane qui in aprile/maggio e l'ho amato assolutamente - la mia esperienza più tranquilla e più facile in Cina finora. L'hotel è pulito e bellissimo, la qualità di tutto nelle camere è molto alta, ma ha ancora un senso di «state di casa» - il equilibrio è giusto. La terrazza sul tetto ha una splendida vista sulle montagne e è molto rilassante, gli ospiti sono gentili e utili (non si parla inglese, ma WeChat funziona bene). La strada è tranquilla, ma è solo pochi minuti’ a piedi per grandi cibi, caffè, bar e ristoranti.

UUtente ospiteThe Mogu House Inn has been a great place to stay where it is located very near to the Dali Ancient City, which is in fact a haven of shopping and dining in a traditional way.
The distance to the ancient city is about 100meters away and easily accessible.
Let's start with the first day where we arrived at Dali railway station and took DiDi cab to the inn, which is about 30mins ride. The location of the inn is actually housed inside a coffee cafe and it is along a gentle slope where the road is manageable for the luggages. So no problem moving about.
Upon arrival, the inn owner will welcome you and help to carry in the luggages for the whole family. Much appreciate their help.
The breakfast is linked to another building, which is also co-owned by the owners and I must say the noodles are great! Yummy and had 2 bowls each meal. Do remember to get a meal voucher before proceeding to the dining hall.
The room is pleasantly nice and clean with smart voice activated services such as temperature control and curtain adjustment. Although the room I booked is on the second floor, it is just short steps upwards.
The inn also provide self laundry services which is located at the top floor. It is a washer and heat pump dryer system where the detergent is self dispensed. So no worries that u run out of clothing. In fact, fresh clothing's every day where the dryer really dried it to a crisp.
At the end of stay, we wanted to book transport to lijiang and the owners clearly help us a lot and the price is very reasonable and save a lot of hassles for us.
All in all, thank u so so much!!

Il balcone è stato implicitamente visto il pirata di fiori con le foreste e il sole, il senso di ascensione è pieno di vitalità! UUtente ospiteLa posizione dell'hotel è mozzafiato. Un ruscello scorre fuori dalla piscina al primo piano, con acque cristalline. È disponibile un servizio di pick-up per due notti consecutive. Dopo aver prenotato online, la reception dell'hotel ci ha chiamato per chiedere se ne avessimo bisogno. Al momento del check-in, la reception ci ha persino assegnato una camera al primo piano con vasca da bagno. La camera si trovava al primo piano (l'ingresso dell'hotel è al secondo piano), con la piscina proprio fuori e una vista sul bosco oltre il ruscello. Sul tetto c'è una lavanderia con lavatrici e stendini. L'hotel non è lontano dalla città antica, ma c'è una lunga e ripida salita, che può essere faticosa. Forse per questo motivo, l'hotel organizza un servizio navetta gratuito per la città antica. Dalle 8:30 alle 22:00, basta contattare in anticipo il personale di servizio o la reception. La navetta ci porterà in fondo alla discesa e saremo alle porte della città antica, proprio di fronte alle strisce pedonali. Anche il personale della reception, cordiale e disponibile, è stato molto tempestivo, portandoci subito una coperta in più e dell'acqua. Le uniche due cose a cui non ero abituata erano il water intelligente, con uno scarico lungo e rumoroso. Sono piuttosto sensibile alle fonti di luce quando dormo, quindi le spie luminose sul water e sullo specchio erano particolarmente luminose di notte. Inoltre, la colazione potrebbe essere migliorata: era principalmente a base di carboidrati, con solo uova sode e fritte come proteine. Anche le torte floreali offerte al check-in erano buone. Nel complesso, questo è stato l'hotel più soddisfacente in cui ho soggiornato durante questo viaggio!

Rric123The guest house owners were very initiative. They picked us up from the Dali Railway station. The rooms were clean. Since there are 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 kids, we had a big room and a smaller room joined together with 2 large beds. The view was amazing.
Upon arrival, it was 4.45pm, and we asked for recommendations of where to eat. However, since it's neither dinner nor lunch time, the owner Mr Hao suggested that we eat in the guesthouse itself. The guest house auntie cooked for us the best rice noodles that we have eaten so far. Springy white noodles in a bowl of hot flavourful broth. My kids slurped it all up and polished the whole big bowl.
When we asked for recommendations on local eating places, Mr Hao gave us a whole list of his specially curated food places, which we managed to try 2 of them. And indeed they were good.
The downside was that there were no coffee or tea sachets in the room. But they said they will make it for us and can send it to our rooms. They mentioned that they have a tea room. And so we enjoyed the 2 types of brewed puer tea while Mr Hao explained a little about the tea.
Personally, I feel that since they have a special tea room to enjoy tea, sending sachet or tea bags would be inappropriate and a disrespect to the art of enjoying Puer tea.
Location wise, it has a good view of the lake. And it's quiet. It's not exactly near the old town but we took a taxi (20 mins) to the old town. Thankfully, we didn't stay at the old town as it's way too crowded, and we felt it's a tourist trap. However, near the guest house, there were many highly recommended restaurants.
The guest house has a dining area on the 1st floor. One thing that I really enjoyed about this place is the dining area. The lady that cooked the meal for us looked like a typical chinese grandma (which reminded me of my late grandma) that she cooked the food so deliciously with passion. While we had our breakfast she would sit at another table, she wasnt staring , just casually sitting while browsing her phone or ensuring we finish our food but her presence reminded me of when my late grandma would sit and watch us eat to ensure we have no leftovers. Lol. It was an oddly familiar and nostalgic feeling that we laughed about. But we do get the homey feel, which we really liked. The guest house also had a laundry room for guests to use.
The guest house owners were very initiative, friendly, and helpful. Anything we need, we just let Mr Hao know, and he would reply. He even offered to send us back to the highway station.
It's definitely highly recommended. And I would ask my friends that should they come to Dali, they should stay in this place. It's just perfect for us.

TT.W.LBooked the family room at courtyard level as I had elderly and wanted an accommodation which is easy to access. I also did not want to be hoisting luggages up and down and over cobbled streets in the old town and somewhere along the city wall so it is easy to start our tour of the sights around Dali in the morning.
Room: Simple efficient clean layout with open concept. Rooms are relatively new. Sink area is located outside the bathroom which is good. The beds are hard in my opinion but elder felt the bed was comfortable. Bottled water was provided everyday (left outside our door). Room Temperature control was ok and the hot water for the shower heated up quick and could maintain at a stable level which is a plus unlike some other hotels in Yunnan.
There is flight of 3-4 steps to room which is manageable for our elder as the room is slightly raised above the courtyard. We had an early check-in as the room was ready. The staff helped us move the luggages to our room. You could also book the entire courtyard for larger groups. The owner is building additional new rooms in the annex but the construction happens during the day and it is not noisy as most guests would be out.
Location:
It is near the South Gate (there is a local market nearby check the maps or ask the owner) and our local driver could stop right outside our accommodation.
We didn’t get breakfast from the bnb as there were food shops offering noodles, congee and fried dumplings around that open early at 7am. You can also make your way to the local market near the gate. You could also go up the South Gate for free to catch the sunrise or sunset view.
Touring around Dali
If you can comms in Chinese, you could message the owner ahead to assist to arrange for a car transfer from Dali Fengyi Airport or the Dali Railway station to the BnB. It cost RMB50 for us from the Railway station to the BnB. You could also arrange with him for a day driver to take you around the sight seeing places around Dali /Erhai Lake, Mt Cang or a driver to send you to Lijiang. We felt was more efficient and relaxing with an elder. It took ~3h drive instead of travelling south to the Dali train station to ride the train to Lijiang and finding a cab from Lijiang railway to the old Lijiang ancient city.
You could also easily catch a Didi or a cab which could be cheaper. A cab/car ride to the 3 Chong Sen Temple pagodas was about 10rmb for 3-4pax which is comparable to waiting for Bus 4 which cost 3rmb per pax.
