Dream Island began in 2020 as a small-scale hotel next to the Erhai Lake, with just 7 rooms. In 2021, Dream Island • Huo Mountain briefly emerged with 9 rooms. After four years of reconstruction, it has now evolved into a vacation paradise rooted in the soul of the land, offering 23 rooms.
This is not a cold, luxurious space, but rather an experiment in cultural awakening, artistic appreciation, and life healing.
"Love everything about this hotel,from the peacefulness the moment I arrived, to the welcome tea and snacks, all the way to the room itself. The view was absolutely spectacular. Every corner of the hotel feels thoughtful and detailed; you can truly feel the amount of effort and care the owner and architect poured into this space.
I first discovered Muxi Huoshan through Tatler, where they mentioned the owner took 12 years to build it — and now I completely understand why. Although the price is considered high by China standards, I honestly think it’s worth every bit of it.
The weather during my stay was amazing too — clear blue skies in the day and a sky full of stars at night.
The only downside would probably be the food. It was okay, but for the price point, I do hope it improves in the future. The hotel is also still expanding, with the spa, gym, and museum currently under construction and expected to be completed in about 3 years. But even so, I loved being able to visit the museum while it’s still in progress.
Loved every bit of this stay. Will definitely be back 🤍"

"A Two-Night Stay with My Parents -＞ Whole Family Was Delighted
I stayed at Indigo for two nights with my parents, and it was a truly satisfying experience for the whole family.
The location is convenient, making it easy to get around. Our room had a beautiful lake view with a wide, open sightline. We absolutley loved it as soon as we walked in. The room itself was very comfortable, giving us a sense of ease and relaxation.
Indigo has always been known for its distinctive design style, and this property truly weaves an artistic touch into every corner. Whether in the guest room, the hallways, or the public spaces, everything felt pleasant and comfortable. I especially want to mention the second-floor lobby — it's spacious, bright, and full of design flair, making a striking impression the moment you see it. The gym and swimming pool on the 11th floor are also well maintained, with complete and tidy equipment — a clear reflection of the hotel's attention to detail.
Breakfast was hearty, and my parents enjoyed it. By the way, if you're a coffee lover, be sure to stop by the hotel's coffee bar for a cup — there's a little surprise waiting for you.
All in all, it was a wonderfully relaxing stay. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in town."

"We booked the private manor villa come with private bath pool and private courtyard. However both private pool and courtyard are surprisingly disappointed. The pool was dirty, moldy, there was just left over water inside maybe by the rain, it had a greyish , murky appearance instead of being clean and inviting. When we questioned the butler he then said if you wanted to use we can clean it up.
One of the main reasons we paid extra to book this room was for the private pool, it’s frustrating and disappointing that it was not in a condition we felt comfortable using. Ended up we didn’t use it despite staying for 3 nights.
The courtyard was poorly maintained and look neglected as well. As you can see all cushion was exposed under the rain and when sun comes out it dried it which caused the cushion get mold and stains.
Service overall not bad and helpful. The only incident was when during check in, my wife asked one of the receptionist politely if they could help me make a booking as the place need call to book. We do not have China number , line that can call or app to book. The lady that was serving us was hesitant to book for me and initially told us to book online ourselves until my wife highlighted the reason to her again.
Public place is well maintained, location is good. Walkable distance to ancient town. Also nearby to few other must visit spots.
Overall decent but won’t be coming back."

[Privilegi SPA] Buono da 100 RMB per un pacchetto SPA specifico: Difficile da commentare... La terapista era stata temporaneamente distaccata da un'altra filiale; la giovane donna è arrivata in scooter elettrico con le mani gelate. Questo dimostra la carenza di personale della catena. Inoltre, il pacchetto e il buono avevano lo stesso prezzo dopo lo sconto, quindi non sembrava un'offerta migliore per gli ospiti.
Ambiente: Situato in una zona residenziale con ville, l'ambiente è piacevole... ma! Questa tipologia di camera si affaccia direttamente sulla strada: chi l'avrebbe mai detto?! Tuttavia, la sala lettura al terzo piano offre una vista magnifica, perfetta per rilassarsi."

Il servizio era molto benvenuto, attento e utile nel corso della mia permanenza, tutti andavano di sopra e di là per assicurarsi che ci fosse conforto e che avessimo tutto quello che ci serviva.

"Onestamente, non sapevo cosa aspettarmi, ma questo posto mi ha davvero sorpreso (in senso positivo).
Innanzitutto, la colazione: di solito non sono una grande amante della colazione, ma non vedevo l'ora che arrivasse ogni mattina. Un'ampia scelta, e tutto era fresco. Pasticcini, uova, frutta fresca, piatti locali, di tutto e di più. Persino il mio familiare dai gusti difficili ha trovato qualcosa di suo gradimento.
Il personale era davvero gentile. Non quel sorriso finto da ”addetto al servizio clienti”, ma una persona davvero cordiale e disponibile. Addirittura, una persona alla reception si è ricordata il mio numero di camera quando ho chiesto una chiave extra: un piccolo dettaglio, ma che ha fatto la differenza.
La camera era molto più grande di quanto mi aspettassi. Avevamo spazio a sufficienza, cosa che raramente accade negli hotel. Ed era pulita: niente odori strani o moquette macchiata.
Ma la vista... quella è stata la vera sorpresa. Mi sono svegliata, ho aperto le tende e sono rimasta lì in piedi per un minuto. La migliore vista che abbia mai avuto da un hotel, senza dubbio.
Ci tornerei? Assolutamente sì. L'ho già consigliato a un amico."

"Ho trascorso un soggiorno meraviglioso al Mengling Yayuan Hotel di Dali dal 19 al 21 dicembre 2025. Il personale è stato eccezionalmente attento e ha fatto di tutto per rendere la mia visita memorabile: dal check-in senza intoppi ai consigli preziosi sulla zona, la loro ospitalità si è davvero distinta. La camera era spaziosa, elegantemente arredata e dotata di comfort moderni che hanno reso il soggiorno confortevole e pratico.
Ho particolarmente apprezzato la colazione locale giornaliera a base di noodles o congee, il rilassante tè pomeridiano e i deliziosi dessert serviti la sera. Dato che avevamo un check-out anticipato, il personale ha preparato con cura una colazione da asporto per il nostro viaggio di ritorno, cosa che è stata molto apprezzata.
In posizione perfetta, a pochi metri dall'ingresso del centro storico di Dali, l'hotel offre una base ideale per esplorare la zona. Si trova vicinissimo alla stazione della funivia di Cangshan e a soli 1,5 chilometri dalla città vecchia. L'hotel offre un servizio navetta. Le camere dispongono di balconi e servizi di lusso, con viste perfette per scattare foto. I maggiordomi, Xiao He, Xiao Feng e Xiao Ying, hanno fornito un servizio attento 24 ore su 24. Darei a questo hotel un punteggio di 5 stelle."

Il servizio offerto da tutto il personale è stato impeccabile e si sono davvero superati! Un ringraziamento speciale alla signorina Chen alla reception 😊 Non dimenticate di contattare in anticipo il personale per comunicare l'orario di arrivo, in modo che possano incontrarvi al punto di ritiro concordato e aiutarvi con i bagagli (invece di trascinarli e danneggiarli per le strade acciottolate della città antica)."
