UUtente ospiteI stayed on the second highest floor in the very last room, away from the elevator. I appreciate the thought of putting me on a higher floor even though I had not asked for it. However, there were constant angry loud banging coming from next door to my room, and also from above my room, which scared me at night. Aside from that, all the staff told me that the hotel is brand new, so there will be a constant smell of chemical plastic coming from the air conditioner when turned on, which resulted in me coughing and becoming ill near the end of my 7-night stay. Everytime I come back to the room, the plastic smell gets so strong that I had to turn off the A/C and open the door for ventilation. Furthermore, the lady manager came to my room one day, asking me about the encounter I had with their night security guard two nights prior. I told her some of which had happened that was unprofessional. This particular security guard had followed me to where I had bought my dinner one night (bbq goose shop next to hotel), and had asked me a couple strange questions, as in why am I in China and that there must be ulterior motives in my visit to China. The way he asked me rubbed me the wrong way as I didn’t know how else to tell him except that I’m in mainland China to sight-see for the very first time. Nothing else. He seemed under the impression that I was in China for more important reasons and I found it really awkward and impolite as I had already told him my reason, to which he disregarded as untrue. Not a fun nor friendly conversation with a guest of the hotel who is also a foreigner. I get that he may be rusty in conversing with strangers but perhaps hotel managers could help him understand more common etiquettes and tact when interacting with hotel guests from not only China but all over the world. Anyway, the lady manager was very upset towards me after hearing what I had to say about this incident and decidedly undermined my words by eyeing me up and down my attire and conveyed a disdain for my presence, which undoubtedly is the worse thing you can do to a hotel guest when confronted by one of the more negative experience shared. She not only disagreed with what I had shared and that I should forgive the night guard as he is older and doesn’t know how to converse with people very well. I said all is fine. I only shared this information as she had gone up to my room to ask me about what had happened with this night guard.
Oh and by the way, on that same night, after I bought my goose dinner and had eaten it, I was followed by the same night guard after throwing my garbage near the elevator on my floor, as he instructed me to do so prior at the goose shop.
So he was literally waiting the whole time for me to come out of my room to throw my garbage! That encounter was so creepy and scary, that I recalled having goosebump when I ran back to my room for safety, all the while him following me from behind…
Overall, the lady manager with her proud, egocentric nature is really unappreciated and unsightly. I am now left with the idea that as a Canadian Chinese, I will be treated as such while staying at mainland China hotels. This entire hotel experience left me with feelings of outcasted, prejudiced and treated less than what a normal hotel guest should be treated.

Ttravelbug123Ottimo hotel vicino all'aeroporto. Camere fantastiche, dal design accattivante e dotate di tutto il necessario e anche di più! Apprezzo molto la navetta aeroportuale gratuita, che parte ogni mezz'ora dalle 4:00 alle 14:00. È necessario avvisare la reception in anticipo in quanto i posti a sedere sono limitati. Questo servizio è molto utile, soprattutto quando ho genitori anziani con me. Un plauso particolare all'autista, che è stato molto disponibile con i bagagli ed è stato gentile ed educato. La reception ci aveva preparato una colazione al sacco, molto premurosa, con uova, pane e latte; tuttavia, il latte ci è stato confiscato alla dogana dell'aeroporto perché ci eravamo dimenticati di non poter portare liquidi. È un aspetto che gli ospiti dovrebbero tenere presente e forse l'hotel può aiutarli a ricordarglielo. Devo però evidenziare alcune particolarità di questo posto che, si spera, possano migliorare l'esperienza. C'è una ripida rampa di scale tra la strada principale e l'edificio dell'hotel, un design urbano insolito, a mio parere, ma a quanto pare questo aspetto è al di fuori del controllo dell'hotel. Questo significa che se si hanno bagagli pesanti e anziani con problemi di veglia da gestire, la situazione è problematica. La reception ci ha indicato un pendio lungo la ripida rampa di scale, ma è talmente ripido che sembra quasi non esistere. Abbiamo chiesto se alla reception ci fosse qualcuno che potesse aiutarci, magari un facchino o un ragazzo, ma non c'era nessuno. Inoltre, non sono stati molto disponibili nel suggerire soluzioni alternative per entrare in hotel. Ci siamo resi conto molto più tardi che c'è una porta sul retro al piano terra, anche se potrebbe significare una camminata più lunga per arrivarci. Ma è meglio che non fornire suggerimenti. Anche se non mi aspetto che le ragazze alla reception aiutino con i bagagli pesanti, ho pensato che la direzione avrebbe potuto adottare dei protocolli per aiutare gli ospiti che hanno problemi con la ripida rampa di scale. Nel XXI secolo, è importante considerare un design inclusivo dell'offerta di servizi per raggiungere standard più internazionali. Solo un suggerimento da sottoporre alla direzione. Nel complesso, è un buon hotel con ottime attrezzature, ma la formazione del personale potrebbe essere migliore. La reception è ottima nel fornire i servizi di base standard, ma potrebbe essere migliorata, rendendola un po' più disponibile verso gli ospiti che chiedono supporto e aiuto. Credo che questo hotel abbia un grande potenziale per competere con altri grandi marchi internazionali con qualche miglioramento in più nel servizio. Ibis è letteralmente proprio accanto, ma spero che i marchi cinesi prosperino ancora di più nel prossimo futuro. Terrò d'occhio questa catena cinese quando visiterò la Cina! :)

BBJlaoxinEssendo di passaggio a Kunming, ho scelto un hotel della catena Marriott, relativamente conveniente e affidabile. La posizione di questo hotel è ottima. Ho guidato dall'aeroporto di Kunming e le condizioni stradali erano ottime e comode. L'hotel si trova in una zona trafficata e nei dintorni ci sono molti ristoranti e locali per il tempo libero. Ci sono molte vie dello shopping al piano inferiore e molti punti di registrazione per celebrità di Internet. L'hotel è nuovissimo, le camere sono molto pulite e i servizi sono buoni. Il personale della reception è molto entusiasta e professionale, il che è in linea con gli standard di servizio di un hotel a cinque stelle. La colazione è relativamente ricca e gli ingredienti sono molto puliti. Anche il servizio al ristorante è molto buono. Inoltre, all'ottavo piano dell'hotel sono presenti una palestra e un bar. L'unico inconveniente è che il parcheggio gratuito dell'hotel per gli ospiti si trova al quarto piano del parcheggio dall'altra parte della strada. È necessario trasportare i bagagli da soli, il che è un po' scomodo. Ma a questo prezzo, l'hotel può offrire un servizio e delle attrezzature così completi ed entusiasti. Sono molto soddisfatto. Questo hotel merita di essere consigliato.

Reception Chaos and The Window Saga
Check-in was rushed and incomplete—no luggage assistance, no WeChat information, no translation tools. The real problems began when I reported my window wouldn't close. With one receptionist managing everything, guests competed for attention in survival-of-the-rudest fashion. She'd abandon helping me whenever someone else interrupted, forcing me to wait while she handled whoever was most insistent.
Hours of frustration followed. The maintenance worker actually said it ”wasn't really a problem” since ”most windows are like that in the hotel”—an alarming admission. After being dismissed and deprioritized repeatedly, I finally got another room. This one had a working window but noisy neighbors and poor soundproofing that broadcast every car horn.
They sent an apology fruit platter—genuinely the best I've received in China, beautifully arranged. But fruit platters require far less investment than proper staff training, adequate staffing, or basic maintenance.
The Bright Spots: Room and Breakfast
The stylish room with warm atmosphere and spacious layout was genuinely nice, though the window view wasn't appealing. The bed was acceptable.
The breakfast team was easily the best part of this hotel—truly professional unlike virtually everyone else. Day one featured fantastic food, skilled preparation, and competent service that stood in stark contrast to other departments. Even when choices declined on days two and three (less refilling, fewer Western options), the cooking team remained the most professional staff I encountered. They also shut down before 1:30 PM despite posted hours.
Housekeeping Failures
During housekeeping, I left my robe and towels out to be changed—they were clearly used and wet, obviously needing replacement. They didn't change them—they folded them and left them. I had to ask them to replace items like shower gel, basically had to tell them everything. They also moved my pile of dirty clothes for some reason and mixed it with clean clothes, putting everything on a chair. Maybe these staff should respect personal space and belongings? One housekeeping staff member in the morning delivered mineral water but was impatient and unfriendly.
Infrastructure Issues
This aging property needs renovation. The hotel is pretty old—windows not closing, minor things not working or getting detached from walls. Water temperature in the shower fluctuated wildly, giving you burning water on your face when you don't expect it. Shower pressure from the handle was pretty good, but not sure what the top running shower is for—low pressure, useless. Elevators were very slow. I ordered coffee—it was delivered to reception but they didn't call or message me and didn't use the robot to deliver to my room. I went downstairs at some point and took it. No explanation, no apology.
Final Verdict
Two genuine strengths: stylish rooms and a professional breakfast team that understood hospitality. This only highlighted how dysfunctional everything else was. The chaotic reception, incompetent housekeeping, dangerous infrastructure, and absent service standards make this hard to recommend—despite nice rooms and excellent breakfast staff.
Would I return? No. Would I recommend? Only if everywhere else was fully booked.

知知足常楽È facilmente raggiungibile a piedi sia dalla stazione della metropolitana che dalla stazione ferroviaria di Kunming.
La hall è al secondo piano.
Quando ho fatto il check-in, sembrava che avessero la cronologia dei miei soggiorni dell'anno scorso e mi hanno assegnato una camera con soggiorno, dicendomi: ”Dato che hai soggiornato da noi l'ultima volta, questa volta ti faremo un upgrade a una camera con soggiorno”.
È stato richiesto un deposito e ho pagato 500 RMB con Alipay.
La reception si trova al secondo piano, la piscina e la palestra al settimo piano, le camere standard si trovano dal nono al trentesimo piano e le camere executive dal trentaduesimo al trentasettesimo piano.
Le camere sono spaziose, pulite e confortevoli, con una bella vista.
Credo che l'illuminazione soffusa al primo piano non dia una buona impressione.

VVicveronThe hotel is beautifully designed, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you need. I really appreciated the little touches — they even provided fresh fruits and mooncakes since it was close to Mid-Autumn Festival!
The staff were super friendly and attentive. There’s always someone at the door to help, and they even assisted with carrying our luggage straight to the room to make sure everything went smoothly. As a sweet gesture, they gifted us a mooncake when we checked out — such a thoughtful touch that made our stay extra memorable.

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.
2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
