Hotel a 2 stelle in New York, Stati Uniti d'America

This stay was not what I would call good... It was in fact a poor experience. By this I mean. I arrived at 3.50pm to get checked into a room that I was informed would be ready for check in at 3pm... The room was not ready, and i was told they would try to have it ready in 20-25 mins. I explained that that was not acceptable. I was told I could wait in the lobby area...I again explained that that was not acceptable. Another employee jumped in to say, I could sit in the lobby. Now I am irritated. I explained in more detail that I could not very well change in the lobby, being that I had to change and get to a wedding in Yonkers for 5.30...He then started to challenge me. Started telling me how he didn't like the tone of my voice. I then dismissed him and suggested he move away and let me deal with the situation with the desk clerk...who by the way was VERY, VERY, helpful, and whom I had no issues with, because she was doing everything she could to accommodate. The real problem was with the cleaning crew and their supervisor , who kept telling her the wrong things. I even offered for them to allow me to change, and then they could have the room to complete getting it ready. They told her to tell me that it wasn't protocol for me to do that. To which I responded that it wasn't protocol to not have the room ready. At this time the desk associate, Aaliyah, who as I said was very helpful, and who I had NO ISSUES with, and she knew that, suggested that I would be reimbursed 50% for all the stress that I encountered, and gave me the room key to allow me and my wife to change and be on our way. This is where I say common sense made more sense than ”protocol”. So my review will be....Great job handling a difficult situation by the desk associate, Aaliyah... Poor job by the room ready crew. And a terrible job by the associate who decided to challenge me in what was a difficult situation, instead of finding a way to help. 5 STARS for Aaliyah 1 STAR for Cleaning Crew (-0) for associate.

Ho soggiornato lì per 2 notti andata e ritorno (4 notti in totale) mentre andavo al lavoro, ed è vicino alla stazione della metropolitana della linea rossa (1 linea dalla Penn Station), quindi posso lavorare o usare Internet tranquillamente nella hall, ed è un ottimo posto dove stare fino all'una di notte circa. Posso tornare nella mia stanza e questo è tutto ciò di cui ho bisogno. Probabilmente resterò qui la prossima volta. È meglio prenotare con circa un mese e mezzo di anticipo.

Hotel molto carino, pulito e apprezzo il servizio di trasferimento gratuito dall'aeroporto. Sarebbe stato utile se il personale ci avesse informato in anticipo che i trasferimenti in aeroporto al mattino dovevano essere prenotati in anticipo, mentre noi abbiamo dovuto prenotare i nostri trasferimenti a pagamento. Ho soggiornato in altri hotel aeroportuali della zona e non ho avuto questo problema all'ultimo minuto. C'è una signora in particolare alla reception: non la nomino, ma potrebbe essere un po' più cortese e guardarci negli occhi quando parliamo, a volte era come parlare con un robot. Se ho detto troppo, mi scuso, ma è importante! Grazie e buona fortuna!

L'hotel gode di una posizione eccellente, proprio a ridosso di Central Park e a breve distanza dal Museo di Storia Naturale e dal Metropolitan Museum. Si trova sulla 71esima strada ed è estremamente comodo per gli spostamenti: a un isolato di distanza, sulla 72esima strada, c'è una stazione della metropolitana che permette di raggiungere facilmente tutte le principali attrazioni di New York. Essendo nell'Upper West Side, la zona è molto sicura e offre un'ampia scelta di ristoranti. La camera era effettivamente piccola, con un bagno minuscolo e un lavandino che non avevo mai visto così piccolo. Tuttavia, è comprensibile, dato che ci si trova in una zona dove lo spazio è prezioso. Nonostante ciò, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo, il servizio dell'hotel è eccellente e offrono il deposito bagagli gratuito. La colazione, una classica colazione continentale, era nella media.

Trasporti comodi: la fermata dell'autobus dall'altra parte della strada è a 50 metri e offre accesso al Tauro e alla Statua della Libertà... La camera era molto pulita e i servizi erano nuovissimi. Servizio: il personale è stato molto gentile, soprattutto Mark. 👍 Colazione: latte/yogurt/frutta/hamburger...

This is very much a classic, old-fashioned American motel, but it is not the kind of place you need to be overly worried about. The sheets and towels are changed, and small packets of all-in-one shampoo are provided. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower with a shower curtain. There can occasionally be a slight odor, which is probably the main downside. The hair dryer is an old-style black unit mounted on the wall, and it may remind you of the kinds of dryers that used to be common in motels years ago. The room includes a refrigerator, microwave, and television. Wi-Fi is available and generally convenient, although it sometimes disconnects, which is part of the motel’s charm. Cell phone reception is also somewhat weak, but I was still able to get a signal. During my stay, AT&T and Verizon were not particularly strong, while T-Mobile seemed to work better. All of the buildings are single-story, and the parking lot is spacious, so finding a place to park should not be a problem. There also appears to be a Chinese restaurant attached to the reception area, although I never saw it open during my stay. Staff are usually available at the front desk from around 9:00 a.m. until about 11:00 p.m. For arrivals outside those hours, you can call in advance. There is a key lockbox outside, and you can open it using a passcode, so late-night check-in is still easy and convenient. This is not a luxurious property, but it is a practical and reasonably comfortable motel, especially for travelers arriving by car and watching baseball games in Allstar village.

La stanza era senza spot e profumava bene quando entrammo. Il tessuto era pulito. Il letto era super comodo con le lame pulite. Rimase un extra di 2 giorni!

Ho soggiornato alla YMCA a dicembre perché i prezzi degli hotel a New York erano incredibilmente alti e fuori dalla mia portata. Avevo una camera singola deluxe, comoda perché dotata di un piccolo frigorifero. Nonostante a New York facesse un freddo polare, il riscaldamento centralizzato era così efficiente che faceva quasi troppo caldo. Ho dovuto persino usare il piccolo condizionatore in camera. Il bagno è in comune, ma è un ambiente privato e si può chiudere a chiave dall'interno per avere la propria privacy. Molti occidentali fanno la doccia al mattino, quindi a quell'ora è affollato. Al contrario, la sera si può usare la doccia in tutta tranquillità. L'edificio è vecchio e presenta piccoli difetti come vernice scrostata, scolorimenti e porte difficili da aprire, quindi è più adatto a chi non si lascia scoraggiare da queste imperfezioni.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel was under renovation so ice machines weren't working, halls were dirty, and rooms needed these upgrades. My room itself was decently cleaned but the bathroom was not. The corners had accumulated dirt\dust\tp and the bathtub had a ring around it. Shower water pressure was great and had Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available. It is also one of the few hotels I've stayed at that actually included bars of soap if that is your preference like me. The breakfast had a decent variety to choose from, especially if you just wanted something quick. I chose to head into Albany and get some real food and coffee. All of what I said above is fixable with this ongoing renovation and that should be taken into account when reading my review. What probably won't be fixed is the lack of any sort of soundproofing in the rooms. I could hear every door close on my floor and people talking in the hall sounded like they were in my room!! Strongly suggest you get a room away from the elevators if possible. Unfortunately I did not have the time to check out the Pool or Hot Tub but did see some kids having a good time in there. Location is 15 minutes away of just about everything you want to see in Albany and I was all over the place that weekend. Take an edible or Ambien to sleep through late night partiers or early risers and you will be all set!!
