Hotel a 2 stelle in New York, Stati Uniti d'America

This stay was not what I would call good... It was in fact a poor experience. By this I mean. I arrived at 3.50pm to get checked into a room that I was informed would be ready for check in at 3pm... The room was not ready, and i was told they would try to have it ready in 20-25 mins. I explained that that was not acceptable. I was told I could wait in the lobby area...I again explained that that was not acceptable. Another employee jumped in to say, I could sit in the lobby. Now I am irritated. I explained in more detail that I could not very well change in the lobby, being that I had to change and get to a wedding in Yonkers for 5.30...He then started to challenge me. Started telling me how he didn't like the tone of my voice. I then dismissed him and suggested he move away and let me deal with the situation with the desk clerk...who by the way was VERY, VERY, helpful, and whom I had no issues with, because she was doing everything she could to accommodate. The real problem was with the cleaning crew and their supervisor , who kept telling her the wrong things. I even offered for them to allow me to change, and then they could have the room to complete getting it ready. They told her to tell me that it wasn't protocol for me to do that. To which I responded that it wasn't protocol to not have the room ready. At this time the desk associate, Aaliyah, who as I said was very helpful, and who I had NO ISSUES with, and she knew that, suggested that I would be reimbursed 50% for all the stress that I encountered, and gave me the room key to allow me and my wife to change and be on our way. This is where I say common sense made more sense than ”protocol”. So my review will be....Great job handling a difficult situation by the desk associate, Aaliyah... Poor job by the room ready crew. And a terrible job by the associate who decided to challenge me in what was a difficult situation, instead of finding a way to help. 5 STARS for Aaliyah 1 STAR for Cleaning Crew (-0) for associate.

È molto conveniente a New York. È a 10 minuti a piedi da Central Park e dall'altra parte del parco c'è la Fifth Avenue. Ci vogliono 20 minuti per raggiungere a piedi la metropoli. C'è un supermercato al piano di sotto e ci vogliono 3 minuti a piedi per raggiungere la stazione della metropolitana n. 1. Molto comodo, ci tornerò la prossima volta

Hotel molto carino, pulito e apprezzo il servizio di trasferimento gratuito dall'aeroporto. Sarebbe stato utile se il personale ci avesse informato in anticipo che i trasferimenti in aeroporto al mattino dovevano essere prenotati in anticipo, mentre noi abbiamo dovuto prenotare i nostri trasferimenti a pagamento. Ho soggiornato in altri hotel aeroportuali della zona e non ho avuto questo problema all'ultimo minuto. C'è una signora in particolare alla reception: non la nomino, ma potrebbe essere un po' più cortese e guardarci negli occhi quando parliamo, a volte era come parlare con un robot. Se ho detto troppo, mi scuso, ma è importante! Grazie e buona fortuna!

Le lamentele online corrispondono purtroppo alla realtà: 1. Rumore (l'apertura delle porte delle camere vicine) e stanza sulla strada (sirene di polizia e ambulanze ogni notte). 2. Camera piccola (a malapena lo spazio per aprire una valigia all'ingresso). 3. Nessuna lavanderia. 4. Colazione ripetitiva: ogni giorno si alternano solo salsicce di pollo, pancetta o tortino di pollo. 5. I prezzi delle camere di venerdì e sabato sono molteplici volte superiori a quelli feriali. 6. Il check-in è alle 15:00, non sperate in un check-in anticipato. Perché scegliere questo hotel? Perché le opzioni non erano molte e per la sua posizione strategica, proprio accanto a Central Park, New York. Ho trascorso diversi giorni attraversando Central Park per visitare i musei d'arte (ad esempio, il Metropolitan). Trasporti comodi: la fermata dell'autobus dall'altra parte della strada è a 50 metri e offre accesso al Tauro e alla Statua della Libertà... La camera era molto pulita e i servizi erano nuovissimi. Servizio: il personale è stato molto gentile, soprattutto Mark. 👍 Colazione: latte/yogurt/frutta/hamburger...

La stanza era senza spot e profumava bene quando entrammo. Il tessuto era pulito. Il letto era super comodo con le lame pulite. Rimase un extra di 2 giorni!

Ho soggiornato alla YMCA a dicembre perché i prezzi degli hotel a New York erano incredibilmente alti e fuori dalla mia portata. Avevo una camera singola deluxe, comoda perché dotata di un piccolo frigorifero. Nonostante a New York facesse un freddo polare, il riscaldamento centralizzato era così efficiente che faceva quasi troppo caldo. Ho dovuto persino usare il piccolo condizionatore in camera. Il bagno è in comune, ma è un ambiente privato e si può chiudere a chiave dall'interno per avere la propria privacy. Molti occidentali fanno la doccia al mattino, quindi a quell'ora è affollato. Al contrario, la sera si può usare la doccia in tutta tranquillità. L'edificio è vecchio e presenta piccoli difetti come vernice scrostata, scolorimenti e porte difficili da aprire, quindi è più adatto a chi non si lascia scoraggiare da queste imperfezioni.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel was under renovation so ice machines weren't working, halls were dirty, and rooms needed these upgrades. My room itself was decently cleaned but the bathroom was not. The corners had accumulated dirt\dust\tp and the bathtub had a ring around it. Shower water pressure was great and had Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available. It is also one of the few hotels I've stayed at that actually included bars of soap if that is your preference like me. The breakfast had a decent variety to choose from, especially if you just wanted something quick. I chose to head into Albany and get some real food and coffee. All of what I said above is fixable with this ongoing renovation and that should be taken into account when reading my review. What probably won't be fixed is the lack of any sort of soundproofing in the rooms. I could hear every door close on my floor and people talking in the hall sounded like they were in my room!! Strongly suggest you get a room away from the elevators if possible. Unfortunately I did not have the time to check out the Pool or Hot Tub but did see some kids having a good time in there. Location is 15 minutes away of just about everything you want to see in Albany and I was all over the place that weekend. Take an edible or Ambien to sleep through late night partiers or early risers and you will be all set!!
