UUtente ospiteOnce in a while, we have the rare privilege of staying somewhere that exemplifies all that is good about travel. Nguluko is one such place.
As the photos suggest, the hotel is beautifully designed. It’s a zen-like, modern annex, connected to Liusan’s generational home. What a curious privilege it is, to be able to join her family around the home’s traditional Naxi courtyard for a bonfire dance, before retreating upstairs to a room of luxurious comforts, including an actual Dyson hairdryer and electronic toilet.
But more important is what the photos cannot capture. In an age of faceless travel, dominated by flavourless hotel chains and mass-produced group tours, it’s rare to be able to feel a connection with folks eager to share a little slice of their life with you. Whether it be a morning stroll around the old village, a sharing session on Naxi culture and Dongba script, or even the aforementioned bonfire dance (replete with lived-in details like the family’s aging hams dangling off the awnings), it harkens back to a more serendipitous style of travel that made me smile.
Even meals (all-inclusive!) are a chance to experience local culture. Locally foraged bracken and morels make an appearance, as do different varieties of liangfen, and Lijiang-style baba. There’s also the most moreish chicken hotpot — which I was going to drive out of the way to Luguzhen to try — but which she ended up serving for dinner on the second night. I’m quite obsessive when it comes to food, and yet everything I wanted to try here, except perhaps the rainbow trout and yak, were cooked up and served.
Some small things could be improved: many stairways lack railings for the mobility impaired, and the ‘October’ room has an odd bathroom design where the toilet cubicle barely has space to close when one is seated. But such issues pale in comparison to the overall experience. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give it is that in a world filled with a million wonderful destinations, this is one place I would choose to return to.

La posizione è anche molto conveniente, rendendo facile esplorare la città antica di Lijiang, pur godendo ancora un’atmosfera tranquilla e tranquilla. Sono stati molto amichevoli, molto utili, e ci hanno fatto sentire davvero benvenuti.

Parliamo di cose buone prima.
1.Le camere di Snow Mountain View possono vedere il sole Golden Mountain dal letto.
2. La posizione è buona per andare a montagna di neve. Ci vorranno circa 20 minuti per raggiungere il centro visitatore della montagna di neve.
3. Il servizio è molto buono. Puoi chiedere qualsiasi cosa e forniranno ad esempio un involucro di bolle per imballare i nostri negozi fragili. Ci sono anche servizi di lavanderia gratuito.
4. Bene per coloro che amano le attività incluse nel pacchetto di stanza.Abbiamo fatto la visita a casa Naxi, cavalcare e arte e artigianato dimorano e godevano molto. Anche noi piace il tè pomeriggio fornito. E possiamo avere il caffè e i frutti quanto vogliamo.

Con la ventilazione, i problemi sono risolti, il cubico del doccia è opposto al bacino tra loro, tutto aperto nella stanza senza partizione intorno alla zona del bagno. Le pareti del bagno e dei cubi da doccia sono di vetro congelato e sono accettabili per me e per le mie figlie, tutte le signore.
2. Il villaggio è molto piccolo. Non molto da vedere. Abbiamo andato a un caffè popolare su Internet che può prendere foto sul tetto con la montagna di neve in fondo. Le bevande sono buone, ma la pasta non è bello. Forse è per questo che questo ristorante non è nell'elenco raccomandato dell'hotel. Non abbiamo esplorato il villaggio molto, ma da quello che vedo, è solo una strada corta.
3.Chiedi una camera di terzo piano.Ha un tetto celeste sopra il letto e vediamo stelle quando speniamo tutte le luci nella stanza.
In generale, non ci dispiacevamo della nostra decisione di rimanere qui nel Stone Lodge, ma se le attività non fossero state incluse nel pacchetto, non le avremmo mai sperimentate.

AaLexxasI genuinely loved my stay at Yulong Mujianshan Homestay, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable accommodations of my Yunnan trip.
What really stood out from the start was the level of service. The team goes above and beyond in the smallest details — from helping with transport arrangements to proactively checking in on your plans. Communication is seamless if you add them on WeChat, which makes coordinating things like pick-ups, recommendations, or even last-minute requests incredibly convenient.
Location-wise, it’s important to note that the homestay is not in Lijiang Old Town, but instead located in Baisha Ancient Town — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The area is much quieter, more laid-back, and far less commercialised. It’s perfect if you’re looking to slow down and enjoy a more peaceful side of Lijiang, while still being just a short walk from Baisha Old Town for a relaxed stroll or casual exploration.
One of the highlights of the stay is definitely the viewing deck. On clear days, you’ll get stunning views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and if you’re lucky, even catch the famous “golden mountain” sunrise. It’s the kind of view that makes you want to slow down and just take it all in.
The homestay also makes it easy to explore beyond the immediate area. They can recommend e-bike rentals, which is honestly one of the best ways to explore the outskirts of Baisha at your own pace, especially given how scenic and less crowded the surroundings are.
Food-wise, the experience was consistently enjoyable. Breakfast is simple but well done, and it’s a nice way to start the day before heading out.
Another big plus is their transport support. They can help arrange pick-up and drop-off services, which is extremely useful given the more remote location. Just make sure to communicate your requirements in advance, such as the number of passengers or luggage size, as they are very accommodating when informed early.
Overall, this stay strikes a really nice balance between comfort, scenery, and personalised service. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully designed, the environment is peaceful, and the hospitality genuinely makes you feel taken care of. It’s the kind of place that’s not just a base for your trip, but part of the experience itself.
Would definitely come back again.

The accommodation itself exceeds a 5-star hotel standard. From the moment you enter the room, it is clear that every element has been carefully considered. The design, attention to detail, and overall comfort reflect the work of a top-tier designer. As designers ourselves, we truly appreciated the thoughtful colour schemes, lighting choices, and smart conveniences throughout the space. Features such as the fully automatic toilet, comfortable shower, and stylish humidifier added to the sense of luxury and refinement.
It is this meticulous attention to detail that truly sets this accommodation apart from others.
Location:
Located in Yuhu Village, a charming Naxi village, the setting is both authentic and peaceful. The village atmosphere, friendly locals, and lovely coffee shops and bakeries make it a joy to explore. A particular highlight is the close-up view of Yulong Snow Mountain, which adds a breathtaking natural backdrop to the entire experience.
Customer Service & Staff:
The customer service was outstanding. We received thoughtful, personalised tips and guidance to make our stay in Lijiang as enjoyable as possible—far from generic recommendations, the suggestions were clearly tailored to our personal interests and needs.
The staff are exceptionally warm, friendly, and generous, and they genuinely make you feel welcome. It is evident that they love what they do, and that passion translates into an atmosphere where guests truly feel valued. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay.

📍La posizione è fantastica: proprio accanto all'antica città di Baisha, ai piedi delle montagne innevate. Aprendo le tende della camera si apre una vista panoramica sulla Montagna Innevata del Drago di Giada. Al mattino, non c'è bisogno di uscire di corsa; si può ammirare l'”alba dorata” dal proprio letto: è davvero mozzafiato.
🐑L'hotel ha un pascolo da sogno: non mi sarei mai aspettato che ne avesse uno così grande! I bambini si sono divertiti un mondo a dare da mangiare agli agnelli e a rincorrere i cani. Poter entrare in contatto con la natura senza uscire dall'hotel è incredibilmente comodo, soprattutto per le famiglie con bambini. Noi stessi abbiamo vissuto un'esperienza rilassante e bucolica.

1.The vista dal balcone che ho prenotato non è come annunciato (Pago extra per questa vista, vedi la foto in viaggio) e è anche vicino alla cimitero ( Mi piacerebbe stare nella stanza al posto opposto)

HHenny P AdiHonestly, I rarely post reviews—but this time I really felt like I had to, because this hotel was the highlight of my family trip to Yunnan.
From the moment we entered the hotel gate, we were already amazed. The place is even more beautiful in real life than in the photos. The staff member who communicated with us via WeChat was incredibly helpful—from arranging our transfer from the station to the hotel, to accommodating my dietary restrictions as a Muslim. They kindly prepared a special breakfast for us: rice noodles with egg, along with sweet potatoes, corn, and boiled eggs. What made it even more special was that everything was cooked by a very warm grandmother. Despite the language barrier, we could truly feel the warmth and love in her cooking.
The cabin we booked was absolutely perfect. It had a spacious yard, a hot tub, and a terrace with a table and chairs—great for dining or simply spending time together with family. Stepping inside the cabin was even more impressive: a large bed, lots of natural light, and equipped with smart home devices. One important detail for us was the bathroom—it had a bidet and a fully smart toilet with remote control. Since the temperature in Lijiang varies greatly between day and night, we were very grateful that the cabin had both floor heating and room heating. The bedroom also featured a large projector, and above it, a sunroof that can be opened—perfect for stargazing at night. It truly exceeded all our expectations.
The hotel area is also next to a very aesthetic café with a stunning view called Yuntian Cafe. For those traveling with family, this place is perfect—the area is spacious and great for kids to explore nature. If you want to go out for meals, Baisha Ancient Town is just a few kilometers away.
What I will remember the most is the kindness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly, always doing their best to accommodate every request. Please never change—your hospitality feels just like being with family. Next time we visit Lijiang, we will definitely stay here again without hesitation.

The room was absolutely beautiful: spacious, luxurious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. It was designed with great attention to detail, creating a calm and elegant atmosphere. One of the highlights was being able to enjoy a stunning view of Yulong Snow Mountain directly from the room, which made the stay feel even more special and unforgettable. The amenities were also excellent, especially the Le Labo toiletries, which added a lovely touch of luxury.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the exceptional service from our butler, 小杨. He was incredibly attentive, warm, thoughtful, and professional throughout the entire stay. From the smallest details to every request we had, he handled everything with patience, efficiency, and genuine care. What impressed us most was not only his responsiveness, but also his sincerity always made us feel welcomed, remembered, and truly looked after.
小杨 went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. His service was never just formal or routine; it felt personal, heartfelt, and full of warmth. Before we got there, I contacted the hotel if it is comfortable for my mom to stay there because she is 88 years old and need to use wheelchair. After that they made up a wechat group to facilitate us. The staff who took care of us , xiao juan , helped us with the trip plan, escorted us to the ancient town of Dayan and Shuhe ,lead us to understand the town of Baisha and helped us with everything we need. She shows her emphaty to people with everthing she does.All the staffs there are young , polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is very suitable for exploring the ancient town of Baisha. The view of the snow mountain can be seen from the inner garden and more clearly from the third floor of the hotel.The room is comfortable with good quality bedsheet , blanket , towels and the heating floor. The breakfast is adequate with a set of chinese small dishes together with a choice of boiled rice or noodles. They provide free coffee all day with daily afternoon tea set and late night sweet soup and plum wine. I feel like I have nothing to ask more and wish to express my gratitude to all the staffs here. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all who need to receive impressive service from these lovely staffs.
