XxQueenDue to my health condition, I had to cancel my journey to Shangri-La. Rather than seeing this as a setback, we decided to extend our time in Lijiang for one more night before heading back to Dali. Without a second thought, we knew we had to return to Rishine for our final night.
Our decision to come back was based on one thing: their exceptional, heartfelt service. From the warmth and friendliness of every staff member to the meticulous considerations in the room—like the oxygen generator for comfort at this altitude and the convenient hot/cold water dispenser—this place feels like a true home away from home.
But it was our return that truly cemented our love for Rishine. As our Didi car pulled up, attendant Xiao Liu was already waiting for us with a warm smile. He had quietly noted our call from five minutes earlier and timed his welcome perfectly.
”I haven't seen you for a day, it feels like three autumns have passed!” he said, greeting us with the warmth of a reunited old friend. In that moment, the fatigue from our travels simply melted away. The most touching part? They remembered our specific dietary preferences without us having to remind them.
This is more than just a homestay; it's a place that remembers you and makes you feel profoundly cared for. We cannot recommend Rishine highly enough.

Let us talk about the good things first.
1. Snow Mountain View rooms can see 日照金山from bed.
2. Location is good for going to snow mountain. It takes around 20min to reach visitor centre of snow mountain.
3. Service is very good. U can ask for anything and they will provide for example bubble wrap to pack our fragile shopping. There’s also free laundry service.
4. Good for those who like the activities included in the room package. We did the Naxi home visit, horse riding and art and craft diy and enjoyed them very much. We like the afternoon tea provided too. And we can have coffee and fruits as much as we want.
Now some points to note.
1. Room is a bit small for 3 of us. The toilet is like a shower cubicle that opens into the room. We only discovered the ventilation switch im the middle of the stay and was wondering why the cubicle is so stuffy, not to mention the smell. With the ventilation on, the problems are solved. The shower cubicle is opposite with the sink in between them. All open into the room with no partition around the bathroom area. The walls of the toilet and shower cubicles are frosted glass and is acceptable for me and my daughters, all ladies.
2. The village is very small. Not much to see. We went to a cafe popular on internet that can take photo on the roof with the snow mountain in the background. The drinks are ok but the pasta is not nice. Maybe that’s why this restaurant is not in the recommended list of the hotel. We did not explore the village much but from what I see, it’s just 1 short street.
3. Ask for a 3rd floor room. It has a sky roof over the bed and we can see stars when we turn off all the lights in the room.
Overall, we did not regret our decision to stay here in the Stone Lodge. If the activities were not included in the package, we would not have experienced them at all.

UUtente ospiteOnce in a while, we have the rare privilege of staying somewhere that exemplifies all that is good about travel. Nguluko is one such place.
As the photos suggest, the hotel is beautifully designed. It’s a zen-like, modern annex, connected to Liusan’s generational home. What a curious privilege it is, to be able to join her family around the home’s traditional Naxi courtyard for a bonfire dance, before retreating upstairs to a room of luxurious comforts, including an actual Dyson hairdryer and electronic toilet.
But more important is what the photos cannot capture. In an age of faceless travel, dominated by flavourless hotel chains and mass-produced group tours, it’s rare to be able to feel a connection with folks eager to share a little slice of their life with you. Whether it be a morning stroll around the old village, a sharing session on Naxi culture and Dongba script, or even the aforementioned bonfire dance (replete with lived-in details like the family’s aging hams dangling off the awnings), it harkens back to a more serendipitous style of travel that made me smile.
Even meals (all-inclusive!) are a chance to experience local culture. Locally foraged bracken and morels make an appearance, as do different varieties of liangfen, and Lijiang-style baba. There’s also the most moreish chicken hotpot — which I was going to drive out of the way to Luguzhen to try — but which she ended up serving for dinner on the second night. I’m quite obsessive when it comes to food, and yet everything I wanted to try here, except perhaps the rainbow trout and yak, were cooked up and served.
Some small things could be improved: many stairways lack railings for the mobility impaired, and the ‘October’ room has an odd bathroom design where the toilet cubicle barely has space to close when one is seated. But such issues pale in comparison to the overall experience. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give it is that in a world filled with a million wonderful destinations, this is one place I would choose to return to.

UUtente ospiteMy stay at Wan Chuan Xu in Lijiang was truly marvellous and exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt less like a guest and more like a member of the family. The hospitality here is exceptional! Everyone is incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to assist whenever possible.
The location is fantastic. The hotel is just a 2-minute walk from Baisha Ancient Town (Bai Sha Gu Zhen), making it extremely convenient while still being peaceful and relaxing. Despite its tranquil setting, transportation is well taken care of, with a complimentary pick-up and drop-off service to the train station, which is about 30 minutes away, an absolute lifesaver.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with cleanliness clearly being a top priority. The hotel also offers thoughtful amenities such as free washing and drying machines, which is incredibly helpful for longer stays.
One of the highlights is the complimentary massage service, one free massage per day during your stay, which was a wonderful surprise and added to the overall sense of relaxation. Breakfast is also provided, and the staff generously shares recommendations on places to visit, helping us plan our itinerary with ease.
To top it all off, the hotel has three big, adorable dogs who are incredibly cute and friendly, adding even more warmth and charm to the experience.
Overall, Wan Chuan Xu offers outstanding service, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. It was a truly wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lijiang. I would definitely stay here again.

Before we even arrived, the team had already contacted us and seamlessly arranged our airport transfer and pickup to the accommodation, which immediately set the tone for an exceptional stay.
Accommodation:
The accommodation itself exceeds a 5-star hotel standard. From the moment you enter the room, it is clear that every element has been carefully considered. The design, attention to detail, and overall comfort reflect the work of a top-tier designer. As designers ourselves, we truly appreciated the thoughtful colour schemes, lighting choices, and smart conveniences throughout the space. Features such as the fully automatic toilet, comfortable shower, and stylish humidifier added to the sense of luxury and refinement.
It is this meticulous attention to detail that truly sets this accommodation apart from others.
Location:
Located in Yuhu Village, a charming Naxi village, the setting is both authentic and peaceful. The village atmosphere, friendly locals, and lovely coffee shops and bakeries make it a joy to explore. A particular highlight is the close-up view of Yulong Snow Mountain, which adds a breathtaking natural backdrop to the entire experience.
Customer Service & Staff:
The customer service was outstanding. We received thoughtful, personalised tips and guidance to make our stay in Lijiang as enjoyable as possible—far from generic recommendations, the suggestions were clearly tailored to our personal interests and needs.
The staff are exceptionally warm, friendly, and generous, and they genuinely make you feel welcome. It is evident that they love what they do, and that passion translates into an atmosphere where guests truly feel valued. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay.
We were deeply touched by the manager’s generosity and thoughtful parting gifts. This stay left a lasting impression on us, and we very much look forward to returning in the future.

KKTravelDiaryOur hotel had a beautiful view of the jade dragon snow mountain, especially in the morning when the sun was rising and it casted a golden glow. The staff was friendly and we particularly liked a young man who works afternoon - night shifts called Xiao Bu. He picked us up from the train station, brewed us tea in the afternoon, made us coffee in the attached coffee shop in front and even sang and played guitar for us. He tried his best to help us when he could and gave us extra supplies when we requested. He dropped us off at the Baisha Old Town when we wanted to walk around and it was a nice jaunty walk back to the hotel. The hotel breakfast portion is pretty big but tastes just OK to me. The room was nice & our bed was comfortable. It took a long time to warm up since it was winter & the room was big. I'd recommend asking for a separate electric card to have the heat running while you're out to keep the room warm. We didn't do this and had an OK time but it was kinda cold. The shower pressure was on the low side and not super hot, which was surprising considering how nice the rest of the room looked. The amenities were not as nice as cheaper places we stayed at but overall the stay was pretty alright. The price feels like it's mainly for the nice view, which admittedly is gorgeous. If you care less about a nice view, there are better budget options. A little conflicted as we liked Xiao Bu as staff but overall had a better experience at other hotels, especially for the price. They do have laundry machines and karaoke etc in the basement but we weren't able to utilize these amenities during our stay. We were able to keep our luggage after check out and arrange an airport drop off (fir a fee) which was nice as well.

DDanyAprillaLa cabina stessa è stupenda: elegante, calda e concepito con pensiero. Le finestre di terra-to-soffitto si inquadrano sulla montagna come un quadro vivente. Tutto si sentiva nuovo, pulito e incredibilmente confortevole. Ma onestamente? La vera bellezza di questo posto non era nell'interno o nella vista, era nella gente.
L'ospitalità che abbiamo ricevuto era diversa da qualsiasi cosa che abbia mai vissuto. Da quando siamo arrivati, non siamo stati trattati come ospiti. Gli ospiti erano così caldi, così profondamente attenti, che mi chiedo: sono tutti i Yunnan di questo genere?
Il momento più dolce è venuto ogni mattina al colazione.Una bella nonna dalla cucina apparirebbe con una tazza di noodles domestiche, le noodles più deliziose e calde che abbia mai provato. Non parlava molto, ma il suo sorriso diceva tutto. Potresti sentire che li ha fatti innamorati, solo per noi, e mi ricordava il colazione a casa mia nonna.
Ci controllarono senza essere intrusi, si accertarono di avere tutto quello che avevamo bisogno, e ogni piccolo gesto veniva direttamente dal cuore.
Non mi aspettavo del popolo di Yunnan, ma mi lasciai con profonda convinzione che la gente qui abbia alcuni dei cuori più caldi che abbia mai conosciuto. CChitrlada HarnWhen my mother agreed to visit Lijiang with me, I browsed many hotels in Trip.com and sorted out this hotel out of many hotels with good reviews without knowing beforehanded that this will fulfill my satisfaction to the most. Before we got there, I contacted the hotel if it is comfortable for my mom to stay there because she is 88 years old and need to use wheelchair. After that they made up a wechat group to facilitate us. The staff who took care of us , xiao juan , helped us with the trip plan, escorted us to the ancient town of Dayan and Shuhe ,lead us to understand the town of Baisha and helped us with everything we need. She shows her emphaty to people with everthing she does.All the staffs there are young , polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is very suitable for exploring the ancient town of Baisha. The view of the snow mountain can be seen from the inner garden and more clearly from the third floor of the hotel.The room is comfortable with good quality bedsheet , blanket , towels and the heating floor. The breakfast is adequate with a set of chinese small dishes together with a choice of boiled rice or noodles. They provide free coffee all day with daily afternoon tea set and late night sweet soup and plum wine. I feel like I have nothing to ask more and wish to express my gratitude to all the staffs here. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all who need to receive impressive service from these lovely staffs.

CClinomaniac LyeI recommend conducting thorough research before making reservations to fully understand what to expect. We were somewhat surprised by the campsite-style setup, as we booked based solely on website photos without delving into the specifics.
While the facilities are adequate, the layout lacks privacy. For instance, to use the cabin's toilet, all curtains on the first level must be closed. Additionally, the toilet bowl is situated behind stairs without any curtains, potentially allowing others in the cabin to see. Moreover, the second-level flooring consists of planks with numerous gaps, providing visibility to the first level, including the bathtub and toilet bowl.
I strongly advise against booking this accommodation for families with children due to the safety risk posed by the sliding doors on the second level, which lack safety measures. While they offer a unique view of the mountain, the danger of potential falls is significant. If you do choose to consider it as a family cabin, I recommend checking with the staff to lock the doors from the outside for added safety.
Despite the unexpected aspects mentioned above, our overall stay was still decent. The staff were hospitable and helpful throughout our visit. Communication was convenient via WeChat for check-in details, recommendations, and self-checkout. It seems that the camping style of accommodation was a selling point, it’s definitely a unique stay. I’m sure there’s a specific crowd that would fully enjoy the experience.
