This was genuinely a wonderful and most special place. The Rocksalt Rooms are in a separate building to the Restaurant - but you check in at the latter and walk you over. Note all the streets here are cobbled, which can be slippery when wet. They are a real BoltHole as they are described, and there are only four total. 2 on 1st floor, 2 on 2nd floor, with one per floor harbour facing. I'd definitely suggest that the upgrade is worth it. The rooms are compact but exceptionally well presented. I've odd little niggles, theres no bedside of any kind - floating shelf would work, where do you put your mobile? And the metal bed frame is ornate and was loose on the footboard. The biggest challenge is where to put things. There are a few hangers on the back of the door and a small set of hooks, but not a drawer or proper place at all. I get space is a real premium here - bedside with 2 drawers all you need! The wet room is compact as everyone says. You won't keep the floor area outside the shower dry, it's not possible. The sink is a corner one with no space to place things but there is shelf in the bathroom for all your luxuries. The body wash / conditioner / hand soap / hand moisturiser are great quality. Noise - it's by the Harbour so they start early, but for us it was part of the charm of the location, the fresh fish smell was totally incredible. Breakfast is not to be missed, across in the restaurant with the best view, it's harbour side. Loved the granola, yoghurt, compote starter. I had English Breakfast as I was hungry, it was great quality but disappoining - it was more style over substance. The bacon is cooked to crispy, not my style at all but great quality. He had the Salmon & Eggs and it won hands down. Local, fresh, decent portion, on wonderful Sourdough. Luckily I was saved a bite. A point or two more - the bedside light fused the circuit and the room was plunged into darkness. Looked for fuse box, could not find. Ended up in Restsurant. They had to get keys to a location they used to own but don't now (ground floor of the Rooms building). This took a while as the keys had to be obtained. I get how this used to work, but not now - the fuse box needs moving. The if we cant fix option was check out and refund - erm no!! There is the most incredible Team member behind the Bar/ Restaurant from Bulgaria whose name I have really tsckily forgotten. For which I apologise. She is truly wonderful and made the visit for me, id return solely to see her again!!! Overall we loved Rocksalt Rooms and would return, to have dinner in the restaurant too! Thumbs up from us, thang you so kindly 💕

Grande posizione. Buon colazione calda (anche se non mi piace come le uova sono cucinate) ... Il colazione è ripetuto ogni giorno ... Quindi sprecare lo stesso cibo 6 giorni in fila è stato un po' molto. Ho detto all'hotel ... Non sono probabili di fare nulla. La palestra è piccola ma funzionale e non molte persone lo usano.Usa l'ascensore posteriore se si verifica durante le ore di picco.

Stato così vicino alla famiglia così grande posizione per noi buona camera di prezzo aveva una vista sorprendente un po 'affaticato poteva fare con una doccia di pittura era difficile da girare e spostare ma aveva caldo acqua corrente buona pressione bagno poteva fare con un buon pulito in angoli tuttavia Generalmente abbastanza pulito. Aveva una buona notte dormire pulito letto pulito asciugamani di base ferro non funzionava.La prima colazione era inclusa non c'era molto scelta non c'era cibo caldo e il caffè molto di base non era grande tutto che un diapositiva che rimarremmo qui rimaneva di nuovo in peggio

Siamo rimasti qui solo per una notte, mentre mio figlio aveva una classe di ballo vicino. Non avrei scelto questo posto per un po' di distanza, perché è in un parco commerciale con poco nelle vicinanze. Tuttavia, se si vuole essere entro 10 minuti di auto al centro commerciale Blue Water allora è perfetto! Il personale di accoglienza era efficiente, ma non molto amichevole o utile, ma c'era una grande festa di compleanno all'hotel e molte persone si sono accostate per avere qualcosa a che fare con esso. La stanza era bella - spaziosa, pulita e due generosi letti di dimensioni (un altro motivo per prenotare questo come i miei figli 15 e un po' troppo grande per un letto da divano ora!). Abbiamo usato la piscina e le strutture di piacere prima di lasciare, perché abbiamo avuto tempo per uccidere. Questa zona è molto stanca e grubbby. Potrebbe fare con un po' di spray, ma serviva un scopo! Se stai per rimanere in un giorno soleggiato, assicurati di visitare il parco Swanley che è a circa 15 minuti di cammino da qui - è bello! ..... un lago con pedali, caffè, piccolo treno, zona di splash e zona di gioco per piccoli. Grande per un giorno di famiglia fuori! Non male, e restiamo ancora, come mio figlio ha questa classe di danza ogni mese!

The room was bigger than expected and had a patio to sit out on, the bed was comfy and everything is situated a short walk from the mews rooms. I did notice the bathroom was a bit dirty and the hot water for the shower went completely this morning. The maintenance man had to come out and fix the boiler to rectify the issue. The location is absolutely stunning and the gardens are well kept. It is really a beautiful part of the UK and the main manor building is lovely. The gardenia restaurant is closed a few days of the week for dinner and also breakfast which I didn’t think was ideal. So we had to go outside to eat dinner as the spa restaurant wasn’t really what I was looking for, for a nice evening meal. For breakfast we had to go to the sage spa restaurant which had a very limited selection of food. There were about 6 dishes to choose from, they said The chef doesn’t cook scrambled egg which is a breakfast essential so I basically had to have a plate of toast. As there was nothing that I wanted on the menu and I was told the smoothie machine was broken so I couldn’t even opt for that instead. This happened straight after the hot water had gone so was a bit of a dampener. I came to the hotel a few years ago when you didn’t have to pay for the spa access but now you do which is a bit annoying. Especially as you can only visit during breakfast or dinner hours even with the £20 surcharge. So then you have to either eat very late at night or have a late lunch otherwise the £20 won’t be well spent and you’d have to leave the spa after an hour

Friendly and helpful staff. The spa area is really calming, and although the steam room and sauna were small were enjoyable. The range of seating was also well planned in the space available. Had Breakfast and a promotion evening meal that was good value and nicely presented H

I had a really enjoyable stay at the Carlton Hotel in Folkestone. The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to explore the town and the seafront, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The hotel has a traditional feel, which gives it plenty of character, and overall I found it to be good value for money. Check-in and check-out were straightforward, and the whole stay was hassle-free. I’d happily stay at the Carlton again if I’m back in Folkestone and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a convenient location.

The location of the hotel was ideal for me visiting a retailer at Bluewater however it would be difficult without a car. The is a free to use car park with plenty of space for residents however there appears to be an Indian restuarant being built on the site as part of the hotel building which would cause major issues for residents looking to get parked if arriving after dinner service in the evening starts. The reception is largely unmanned and you need to call a mobile number for any issues. In fairness, when I checked in, the chap on reception told me there was an issue with the hot water but would be sorted within an hour. Sure enough it was. The following morning, getting ready for work, there was no hot water, so I called the mobole number and the chap told me he'll get it sorted right away. Sure enough within 30 minutes it was working. I believe the issue was with the pump as once started, there was plenty of hot water. The room was absolutely as seen in the photos. Lovely large spacious room with a skylight Velux style window, so plenty of fresh air. The aircon unit worked a treat for the warm muggy evening and night. There was an abundance of tea, coffee and some bisuits was was a real treat. There was also a couple of bottles of water which was a nice touch. Overall, I would stay here again and hopefully next time, the onsite Indian restuarant will be open.

A standard Premier Inn... room was clean and modern, the rest of the hotel a little tired but for the price and what I expected it was totally fine. An easy stroll into Canterbury, but you do need to walk through an underpass which some people may find problematic esp. late at night, but I am sure it's safe. WiFi is throttled to encourage you to upgrade... not a fan of this.
