Hotel con colazione a George Town

L'alloggio corrisponde alle foto e alla descrizione. La posizione è perfetta e tutto è pulito. Eravamo gli unici ospiti, con un uomo nella stanza accanto. Riuscivamo a sentire assolutamente tutto, persino il suo russare. La colazione inclusa consiste in un piatto a scelta. Le bevande non sono incluse. Nemmeno il caffè 😭 Ma avrete il piacere di avere acqua tiepida per tutta la durata del soggiorno. Nonostante tutto, abbiamo trascorso le due peggiori notti da quando siamo arrivati ​​in Malesia. La camera matrimoniale si affaccia sulla strada. Non c'è insonorizzazione ed è soffocante. Non lasciamo mai l'aria condizionata accesa di notte, ma non avevamo scelta. Al piano terra c'è un ristorante con servizi extra. Una volta chiuso, l'aria condizionata viene spenta, rendendo impossibile riaccenderla per rimanere al piano terra la sera o la mattina presto (arrivano intorno alle 9:00). Questo è il principale svantaggio: non c'è uno spazio comune per gli ospiti. È un ristorante con camere al piano superiore. Una playlist jazz viene riprodotta ad alto volume tutto il giorno, accompagnando il personale in uniforme. Quando si scende al piano di sotto, smettono improvvisamente di parlare. È davvero imbarazzante. Passano il tempo al telefono (niente di serio), ma con il volume al massimo, scorrendo contenuti senza senso. Usiamo il termine ”personale” per riferirci ai dipendenti. Sembra che recitino senza sapere cosa fare nel settore dell'ospitalità. Davvero inaudito in Asia. Sembrava una scenetta comica! 🤣😂🤣😂 Il personale non sembra avere alcuna esperienza in hotel o ristoranti. Gentili al tatto, ma molto goffi (una donna con una borsa pesante fa fatica a salire le scale e nessuno le offre aiuto...). Non ho mai visto niente di simile in diversi mesi di viaggio in Malesia (dove sono sempre stato accolto benissimo) e in tutto il Sud-est asiatico. Detto questo, non c'è da stupirsi che quasi nessuno venga a mangiare o dormire qui, nonostante sia un hotel nuovissimo. Ci sono molte pensioni più avanti lungo la strada che sarebbero felici di accogliervi.

I had an excellent stay at G Hotel Gurney in the Executive Suite. The suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great view. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Penang. The hotel’s location is fantastic, right next to Gurney Plaza and within walking distance of many popular eateries. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire stay even more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge was a great addition, offering a quiet and comfortable space to unwind with complimentary refreshments. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of local and international dishes. Overall, everything from the room quality to the service exceeded my expectations. I would definitely choose G Hotel Gurney again on my next visit to Penang and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.

“An Absolutely Magical and Timeless Stay for the Family!” We stayed in a Family Suite at the Heritage Wing for two nights this June, and it was a flawless experience. Upon arrival, the hotel staff personally escorted us to our room and gave us a wonderful, detailed introduction to the suite. The sheer scale of the room was incredible—immensely spacious, featuring a proper living room, a cozy side lounge, two grand double beds, a massive private balcony, and that classic clawfoot bathtub. The entire decor exuded a magnificent, nostalgic vintage charm. Even the vintage lotus-shaped showerhead was exceptionally stylish! Thanks to the generous space, we felt completely relaxed and at ease throughout our stay. The food was another major highlight. The buffet breakfast offered an amazing spread of authentic local delights, including Char Kway Teow, Nasi Lemak, and Fish Ball Kway Teow Soup. We also thoroughly enjoyed the elegant canapes. It was a perfectly leisurely two-day getaway, and we will definitely be coming back next time. Highly recommended!

L'unica cosa che non mi ha soddisfatto è stato il rumore delle pulizie ogni mattina prima delle 6:00, i primi due giorni. Non sapevo se fosse il rumore proveniente dalla porta accanto o dalla stanza al piano di sopra. Il mio sonno ristoratore mattutino è stato bruscamente disturbato. La terza mattina sono andato alla reception per chiedere un cambio di camera, ma il cameriere mi ha detto di aspettare un attimo. Di conseguenza, sono andato dalla ragazza alla reception tre volte prima di ricevere la tessera della camera verso le 15:00. Inizialmente, la reception mi ha detto che dovevo tornare in camera a preparare le mie cose e che la nuova tessera sarebbe stata consegnata in camera entro dieci minuti. Ma dopo aver aspettato più di dieci minuti, nessuno me l'ha consegnata. Di conseguenza, sono corso alla reception per chiederla al cameriere. Dopo essermi rigirato per diverse volte, ero di cattivo umore. Per fortuna, dopo aver cambiato camera, ho finalmente dormito bene.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Stay at Landison Hotel Penang I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and was impressed by the overall comfort, cleanliness, and modern design of the hotel. The room was spacious, bright, and well maintained, with two comfortable beds that were perfect for a relaxing stay. The large windows also provided plenty of natural light and a lovely city view. The bathroom was clean and stylish, with a modern design, spacious vanity area, and good-quality fittings. I especially liked the simple yet elegant grey marble-style tiles, which gave the bathroom a premium feel. The hotel corridor and common areas were also clean and quiet, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The location is another highlight, with convenient access to the surrounding city area and plenty of things to explore nearby. The view from the room was particularly enjoyable, overlooking the city buildings, greenery, and streets below. Overall, Landison Hotel Penang offers a comfortable, modern, and relaxing stay with clean rooms, good facilities, and a convenient location. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Penang for business or leisure.

I could say the location and service is good, especially the security guard is helpful. Definitely will love to come back for a visit again

The staff were friendly, polite, and generally helpful throughout our stay. The location is also a strong point, with plenty of restaurants and shopping malls nearby, and the Clan Jetties are within walking distance. Unfortunately, the check-in experience left much to be desired. Before arriving, I had emailed the hotel to enquire about an early check-in as we were travelling with elderly family members. I fully understood that this might not be possible due to the peak holiday season, which was perfectly reasonable. Upon arriving around 11am, we were advised to return after 1pm. We came back shortly after 2pm but were informed that our rooms were still not ready. We were prepared to wait until the official check-in time of 3pm, but even then, the rooms were unavailable. We were repeatedly told ”10 more minutes”, only for those 10 minutes to become 30 minutes and then even longer. In the end, we did not receive our rooms until approximately 3:40pm. What made the situation particularly frustrating was seeing guests who arrived after us being checked in ahead of us. The explanation given was that a supervisor needed to inspect the rooms before they could be released. While delays can happen, clearer communication and realistic timelines would have been far more appreciated than being repeatedly asked to wait another 10 minutes. To make matters worse, one of our rooms had pillows and blankets with an unpleasant odour, which raised questions about the room readiness that had caused such a lengthy delay. For guests driving, parking may be challenging as there are only a limited number of parallel parking spaces available. Even for those arriving by taxi or private hire, the drop-off and pick-up process can be somewhat inconvenient. There is also a Heritage Fee payable upon check-in, which was acceptable and clearly communicated. Complimentary coffee and biscuits are available, and water dispensers are conveniently located near the lifts, although bottled water is not provided in the rooms. The check-out process was also slightly unusual, as guests are required to wait for staff confirmation before leaving. Overall, the stay was comfortable and the location was convenient. However, I value hotels that provide a smooth and efficient check-in experience. Delays are understandable, especially during busy periods, but guests deserve honest communication and accurate updates rather than repeated promises of ”10 more minutes.” With better management of the arrival experience, this would have been a much more enjoyable stay.

Parcheggio: non molto comodo, perché bisogna convalidare la tessera TNG alla reception ogni volta prima di uscire dall'hotel per annullare il parcheggio. Posizione: 8-10 minuti a piedi dal molo di Chew e dalla street art di Penang. Camera: ampia e pulita, la camera deluxe si trova al primo piano e si affaccia sulla strada. Il Boston Cafe è un po' rumoroso a mezzanotte quando passano le auto. Il bagno è spazioso e adoro la doccia a pioggia!

L'Hotel Museum è assolutamente bellissimo - è come un passo indietro nel tempo. Il doppio standard è stato grande per 2 persone - non c'è molta vista, poiché tutte le camere sono sul primo piano (Europe)/2nd piano (US), quindi potresti voler scegliere di non vedere perché dovrebbe essere più tranquillo. Le opzioni per la colazione erano diverse e deliziose (à la carte). La piscina non è grande (in realtà è piccola) quindi non prenotare questa proprietà per una piscina. La posizione sembrava buona, ma è stato difficile da dire perché molte delle aziende vicine erano chiuse, forse a causa delle vacanze (nuovi anni), in pochi isolati di un fermo di autobus e in un chilometro dell'arte stradale. Un grande ristorante, Laksalicious, è proprio intorno all'angolo.
