Stayed in the Triple Room (117) with two other friends when we were visiting Melrose for the weekend to do Run the Borders trail race. For two nights stay we each paid around £80 which included breakfast (buffet and cooked breakfast). I was a bit concerned having read some of the reviews on here. Let's not get around the fact that the hotel in general is in need of a a refurb and our room was a bit dated. However, it was clean, functional and suited us for what we needed it for the weekend. We went to the bar both nights and it has a warm atmosphere with some nice local beers. Found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. The breakfast had a small buffet plus there were cooked breakfast options available. The private car park was very handy too. Overall value for money. There aren't many places you can get bed and breakfast these days for £40 a night.

My wife and I had a one night stay recently . We arrived to a very warm welcome and spotless modern rooms. The hotel has many plus points,such as great breakfast 🥞 lovely views and central setting not to mention its extremely good value. The manageress was so helpful ,she was competent and attentive and did it all with a smile. Just what you want Andrew and Rachael.

Viveva qui con quattro amici mentre guidava la Citta' Costiera e Castle Cycleway. Un luogo meraviglioso e certamente l'accento del nostro viaggio. Siamo arrivati bagnati e abbiamo immediatamente offerto impianti di asciugatura. Bikes safely stored under cover (a purpose built outside bike store with charge facilities for E-bikes is planned). Rooms spacious, clean and well equipped, staff friendly and efficiently helpful - Oh, and the evening meal!! This was wonderful. La sala da pranzo era il luogo perfetto per un pasto memorabile e speciale.Il salto di veneno è stato il migliore che abbia mai provato (e sono un figlio di macellaio!).

An old but well maintained and comfortable hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was roomy, with a large four poster bed. En-suite was good. Main lighting in the room was a bit low powered leaving dark spaces but not something to worry about when a room is generally for sleeping. Breakfast choice was excellent and the cooked options were hot and tasty.
