Hotel a Toowong, Australia

I cannot fault this accomodation! From the friendly welcome and service to the above and beyond service I received after leaving an expensive phone charger/cord behind. The manager ‘Jack’ went out of his way to ‘find’ and ‘organise’ a pick-up for me that I am so grateful for. To find that the wonderful cleaners had taken it to the office was so honest that I would like to say ‘thank you’. The very clean and large Family Studio we had was perfect. Plenty of free parking and a no-fuss check- out. We didn’t have any trouble with noise from either the road or other apartments. Free wi-fi. We weren’t far from the City centre or Southbank. Easy to Uber. Will definitely be coming back. A+

Very helpful, clean and friendly. The only concern I had was the fire escape plan. We were on the ground floor and the outdoor area was surrounded by aluminium lattice work which was welded shut. The only way out was back through the one way hallway to the exit doors. If there was a fire you would have to climb 2m over the lattice to get out. When I asked about it they said it's a brick building so you don't have to really worry about fire....😬

Piccole camere nel centro città molto vicino alla stazione di Roma Street, ideali per viaggiatori in treno e visitatori a breve termine. Non va bene per le famiglie. Buoni ristoranti e caffè nelle vicinanze con il CBD una breve passeggiata in discesa. Molte camere dispongono di piccoli balconi per l'aria fresca.

Loc Super convenient location on the corner of Jephson St and Sherwood Rd, with the popular Toowong Village Shopping Centre, a 10 minute walk away. The Toowong railway station can be accessed directly from the shopping centre. There are plenty of buses trundling up and down Sherwood Rd heading in various directions to the city or to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre further south. The nearest ferry terminal is Regatta, less than a km away, but at the time of writing it is still under repair following last year's floods. Room We found the room to be clean, comfortable and spacious, with a large king bed, two bedside tables, each with a drawer and a lamp, a TV on the wall, and a handy desk for working at. On the balcony, was a small table and two chairs. There were plenty of power points to charge appliances and the downlights were strong enough for easy reading. The stylish touch lamp on the desk and standing lamp in the corner were useful for extra illumination. There was a hanging rail with about eight hangers. There were two sets of two drawers, one underneath the hanging rail and the safe, with one larger set underneath the TV. They were reasonably sized, but being virtually on the floor, they were super inconvenient to access. I can’t understand why the designers didn’t think of this, because it’s extra difficult to get down so low, especially if you’re a bit older, or with knee problems. Also in the room was a safe but that too required bending down. On top of the safe and below the hanging rail was a shelf to store one suitcase. The tea and coffee making facilities were also very difficult to access as they were rammed into a little shelf snuck between the drawers and the desk-top. The room though was quiet, being at the back of the property and therefore not facing directly onto either Jephson Street or Sherwood Rd, both busy roads. One could hear some noise from within the hotel as people walked up and down the corridor, but it was a minor inconvenience and most fellow guests seemed friendly and well behaved. There wasn’t much of a view, and the room just looked out onto the sprawling next door apartment complex, and to the right between the trees we could see Jephson Street, and the traffic going up and down, but the sound didn’t carry into the bedroom if the balcony door was kept closed. Bathroom The bathroom was not an en-suite, being situated in the passageway, between the front door and the bed. That was just as well, as it had a sliding door, which is never great for privacy, although it could be locked. But the bathroom was modern and stylish, and the water pressure in the shower was strong. A transparent glass wall separated the bathroom from the bedroom, which shocked me when I first saw it. I immediately phoned the reception to tell them that we needed another room due to the lack of bathroom privacy. L'hotel è lungo la strada da un sito di costruzione, così ho avuto luci brillanti che brillavano nella mia stanza tardi alla notte e il rumore dal sito è sgradevole. La luce del bagno non funzionava, non c'era altro che una mancanza di base.

Abbiamo prenotato un appartamento con vista sulla montagna per il fuoco del fiume Brisbane. Era una soggiorno molto piacevole e l'hotel era molto pulito e confortevole. Ottima posizione con una corta passeggiata al centro culturale e Southbank. Il caffè al piano di sotto ha reso facile il colazione. Era anche un grande valore per i soldi. L'unico punto di sbarco era la vicinanza alle tracce del treno, in modo che potessi sentire il treno tutta la notte - ma non era così alto e non ha davvero influenzato il nostro sonno.

Ottimo luogo. Unità un po 'antica e stanca, ma pulita. Non ci sono occhiali nell'unità. Non uno!! Molti buoni ristoranti vicino. Letti confortevoli.

Essendo un habitué dell'Evolution e prendendo in simpatia l'hotel nel suo insieme, specialmente il personale notturno che era sempre accogliente, caloroso e gentile, il mio viaggio più recente l'ha completamente cambiato. Io e il mio compagno abbiamo prenotato insieme sul mio conto (dato che viaggio regolarmente i miei premi sono più alti) ma abbiamo pagato con la sua carta. Normalmente ricevo un upgrade gratuito alla mia camera ma in questo caso volevo renderlo speciale, pagando un extra per una camera con vista. Avevamo una piccola camera d'angolo (niente come le camere in cui ero stato prima) e con nostra delusione senza vista. Ho chiesto questo e nonostante fossi in grado di mostrare gli extra pagati mi ha detto che tecnicamente essendo circondato e stipato tra grattacieli commerciali, era una ”vista sulla città”. La nostra seconda notte è andata a sud senza disturbare nessun altro residente lì né il personale dell'hotel, tuttavia come un modo per abusare ulteriormente di me, ha chiamato l'hotel e senza alcun preavviso è stato buttato fuori. Non solo hanno ignorato i chiari segni di un partner che cercava di causare problemi al coniuge, ma l'hanno permesso e mi hanno minacciato con la polizia dopo aver cercato di contestare la questione. Ho intenzione di approfondire la questione.

We stayed here the night before leaving on a cruise that was leaving from the International Cruise Terminal. The main reason we chose this hotel was its close proximity to Roma Street Station as we caught the train from the airport. While it is close to the train station it is located at the top of a reasonable hill and it took a bit of effort to navigate the way to the top, apart from the effort. Several escalators/lifts and then a steep path with no real directions on which way to go. I thought I would be able to see the hotel to give me an idea which way but had to resort to Google Maps to find the way. Unfortunately we were on an early flight into Brisbane so as it was 09:30AM I was not expecting our room to be ready but just needed to store our bags so we good do some exploring. As expected, our room was not ready but the guy behind the counter checked me in, stored our bags and advised that the hotel was busy and our room would not be ready until about 02:00PM. No worries we will be back. We arrived back at 01:00PM and our room was still not ready and waited in the foyer till 02:00PM as previously discussed. Reception gave me our keys and we proceeded to our room on Level 1, or so I thought……..room card would not let me use the lift. Back to reception to have the card re-coded. On entry to our room, it was reasonably spacious and looked clean and reasonably comfortable. Décor a bit dated, but functional. We had a rather large balcony but we could not use it as there was no furniture so the balcony was wasted. Bathroom was small but functional, bit dated but appeared clean. It was only after we used the toilet several times that we noticed water on the floor. We ignored it for quite a while as we thought we had spilt water on the floor but it was not till the next morning that I realised it was coming from under the toilet. I reported it to reception on checkout. As we were tired from our early start we chose to order room service. While we knew how much it was going to cost it was very expensive. Two hamburgers and chips over $70. A bit steep, but as we were so tired we paid so we did not have to go out. The hamburgers were good by the way, but still way too expensive. Overall, this hotel was OK, but the room was supposed to be a superior room. OK. I would hate to be in a Standard Room………..as the room was pretty average for a Superior. After reading some of the other reviews the price we paid was fair and the location is good, just not when you have to push two big suitcases that we were taking on a cruise up the hill from the station. PS. It cost us $73 in the taxi to get to the Cruise Terminal.
