Un hotel molto bello con una storia. Ci siamo fermati qui per due notti. Alla entrata, siamo stati salutati da Thomas, era molto benvenuto e conosciuto sull'hotel e la zona. Il personale del servizio frontale, il colazione e il bar sono andati al di sopra e al di là del servizio degli ospiti. Non abbiamo avuto l'opportunità di godere del bagno, ma le strutture erano molto pulite e benvenute. In una distanza di passo dalla città di Lille e da un Uber passeggiata da Fromelles, dove siamo andati al museo e passeggiati attraverso cimiteri dalla guerra mondiale che mostravano i sacrifici fatti per garantire le nostre libertà. Raccomando vivamente questo hotel per un soggiorno a Lille.

I forgot my makeup worth 300 euros there. Getting it back was so hard. I called for 3 days just to get a simple link sent to my email address and then paid 35 euros for ”fast” shipping, which wasn't fast at all. When I finally got my package, almost everything was gone—just a deodorant and one makeup brush were left. It’s obvious my things were stolen by someone at the hotel. When I called, I was left with no acceptable answer and could not even speak to the manager on shift. This hotel doesn’t care about you or your stuff. They didn’t even say sorry. Don’t stay at Hotel Barriere. There are more honest places that will respect you and your things.

This was only a one night stay as we were heading back via the Eurostar. As it happens, we couldn’t have picked a better place as we had a great time there and felt we are well prepared for our onward journey. It is a 10 minute easy walk from the train station and our welcome at Reception was warm and friendly. In fact, the gentleman from Seville was a star throughout our whole stay and helped us a lot. The room was far more comfortable than we expected and had everything you need for a great night. The air conditioning was excellent which was important in the heat and we had a terrific night sleep. There are a few rooms with balconies but we didn’t manage to get one. As it was only for one night that didn’t matter but it may be worthwhile requesting if you get chance. The Wi-Fi was free for unlimited devices and really high quality. We would, without doubt, stay in this hotel again should we be back in town.

We really enjoyed our stay, great location and Céline was so friendly and kind. The room is very comfortable, relaxing, well laid out and very clean. The breakfasts were wonderful each day and she found some great vegan options for me. The hot tub is a unique addition too. We’d definitely recommend! :)

MMarjorie CThe hotel foyer was very pleasant with comfortable chairs and a bar. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable but we did not like the condensed milk provided so could not have a cup of tea. The breakfast was the usual buffet with some hot food. There was too much white bread and one day no wholemeal at all. Also the yogurts all had sugar in them. We would book again

Ottimo per visitare a piedi la città. Vicino ai principali punti d’interesse, nei pressi un parcheggio a pagamento nel quale lasciare comodamente la vettura se si viaggia in auto. Personale super professionale e cortese. Ottima colazione con prodotti freschissimi.

UUtente ospiteWe stayed at this hotel twice: in December 2022 and in February 2024. The location might not be the most obvious (however, it takes about 8 minutes of leisurely walk to both metro stations in between which the hotel is located). The location on its own is a little bit outside of the city centre, however, you get from this hotel to the city centre rather quickly. There's a shopping centre next door, which takes half of the distance to the nearest metro station. The hotel is relatively new (I think when we were there in 2022 it just opened), therefore most things are still in a very decent shape. Both times when we stayed at this hotel, we observed that it was sparkling clean. The size of the rooms is also large by French standards, and the rooms are fairly well-equipped. The only 2 pieces of criticism that we could offer would be to replace paper cups with porcelain cups in the room (if possible) and ensure that the soap is replenished (we got a refill bottle at reception, but it would've been so much less hassle if the hotel would've put it in advance). The WiFi works well. We didn't try any breakfast at this hotel, as on both occasions we had planned brunches with friends, however. judging by the price and the looks of it as we were passing by, it would be a good value.

Ppezzo_da_90si trova al secondo piano, in un palazzo che sembra più un cinema che un hotel.. Il personale è gentile e molto disponibile, la colazione dalle 7 alle 10 costa 19 € a persona, quindi non l’ho provata.. La posizione è decisamente centrale ci sono alcuni locali e dei ristoranti molto importanti , facendo due passi oltre alla via commerciale si arriva in tre minuti alla piazza principale.. La camera di medio piccola dimensione lo dava per un insonorizzazione eccellente … Buono il materasso ma i cuscini troppo bassi .. La doccia vista stando con amici non è il massimo per la privacy ormai vanno di moda Attenzione ai prezzi perché come c’è un piccolo avvenimento schizzano decisamente alti

UUtente ospiteThe hotel is excellently located opposite the main train station where the Eurostar arrived. The area was very quiet and also within walking distance to pretty much everything we needed to see so we walked everywhere and never needed public transport. The lobby of the hotel is cosy and very welcoming and the people at reception were friendly and very accommodating. The room was nice and the beds very comfortable. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that but we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Questo è un vero bell'impatto sul tuo denaro. Se stai cercando un soggiorno di bilancio in una città trendy come Lille. Questo è davvero il posto da essere. A parte il modello. Ma è davvero l'unica cosa che potrebbe essere meglio. Il lobby ha una vera vibrazione hipster/jazzy e la loro musica è di innamorarsi! Sono rimasto a scuola per qualche giorno e il soggiorno è stato solo sorprendente, mi sembra che non abbiamo davvero soggiornato tanto tempo nell'ostello, ma sarei sicuramente tornato con gli stessi compagni di classe. 10/10 consigliere di nuovo!!

KKate ThomWe were assigned an accessible junior suite though we didn't request an accessible room.. The bathroom was half finished and the wiring was not completed with the switches for the separate toilet and bath located in the doorway. There were signs pasted on the door to the toilet and the door to the shower stating that the hotel offered its apologies for the inconvenience! There was a workman's support pole found under the sinks which had to be removed by the technician when we complained. There was not a single hook, clothes stand, towel rack or rail anywhere in the bathroom, toilet or room. The hotel staff explained that they would send a technician a second time to drill hooks in the bathroom, we didn't bother since we were staying only 2 nights and didn't want the dust. The shower glass in the shower stall could not contain water within the stall and the floor became wet after we showered. Location wise the hotel is perfect and the staff were polite. Breakfast was a mix of hot cooked food and the usual cold cuts, cheeses, breads, yoghurt, fruits and juices. The breakfast room changes to a bar at night which serves affordable and nice cocktails.

To add some context we booked this hotel as our base for the Rugby World Cup weekend of 22-25 September. The hotel is a good 30min plus walk from the heart of the city centre (which we knew) and close to the metro, Porte de Valenciennes the nearest station. We have been frequent visitors to Lille in the past - stopovers/passing through and this the first time we have stayed ‘outside’ the hub. Now, considering we paid a premier to stay (major event sporting event taken in to consideration) but in summary, a very disappointing experience throughout. Now, let’s start with the things the hotel has full control over. On arrival, it was apparent the hotel is definitely budget end of the scale, small lobby with a corner ‘bar’ attached to the end. We stayed in the third floor and on opening the door it hit the bed frame - the room was that small. There wasn’t any furniture to store clothes baring six hangers in a metal frame in the corner of the room; we live out of the suitcase propped up against the wall. The room appeared clean but the smell of sewers from the bathroom was strong - on our return home the smell had permeated our unused clothes. The room was incredibly small and the only surface face other than the bad was a small desk with was inaccessible due to a coffee machine (which was brill) and bed. Credit due, the bed was firm and comfortable but you had to one side hop over the mattress just to get out. Two nights running our key card didn’t work and needed re-charging and on the final night, we had to track down the only member of staff to help. We didn’t see many guests during our stay, but we did speak to other couples who shared the same view. Billed as a World Cup venue it was a poor experience as on the Sunday guests were left to watch the games in their rooms as there was no facilities. The staff juggled multiple roles so it’s hard to criticised but there was no enjoyment staying at this hotel and more spent more time in other hotel lobbies to use their facilities and ultimately, find so atmosphere and customer services. All in all, a very dated and hotel which is a shame as the building architecturally is very appealing. Now, on to the parts the hotel were not in control of. The area is best described as ‘tough’ and on returning back to the hotel of an evening, there were a group of adults smoking ****, drinking and sitting on dumped mattresses. Granted there was no incident but intimidating when you have young children in your party. As I say, not the hotels doing but the group were less then 100yrds for the properties entrance. The walk to the station was about 10mins but once again, notably tough area with pockets of adults drinking and shouting on the streets. Overall, we managed but we wouldn’t return here or recommend staying unless it’s to crash for a night. Underwhelmed by the facilities and welcome. Rooms hot and poorly ventilated. We We’re pleased it wasn’t summer! The bed was comfortable and linen clean and fresh. Bathroom was ok, but so small I could barely fit into it. Little room between sink and door. One smallish towel was provided per person and one of our towels had a hole in it. The toilet seat was awful. Neither the lid or the seat would stay up. Really awkward for males. Not even plastic glasses were provided in the room, so you couldn’t have a drink of water. Bar was ok but very expensive. Restaurant is a shipping container in the back yard. No doubt very cool and all that but its facilities were meagre. We ordered 2 pizzas and were warned it could be a 50 minute wait. We decided that was just about acceptable. However it took 1.5 hours to deliver our order! It might be funky and all that but it was very, very slow. In fact really poor. Staff friendly, with good English spoken throughout. Parking plentiful and it felt secure. The hotel is too far from the city centre to be convenient. We walked in twice and whilst quite a pleasant walk it is about 40 minutes. There were no shops or restaurants within easy walking distance. It wasn’t exactly cheap but OK. Overall average.
