Hotel in zona Avenida Brasil, Porto

We stayed at the Boa Vista in early August 2024 for 4 nights after catching the train there from Lisbon. The hotel for us was ideally located at Foz do Douro which is at the mouth of the Douro river where it runs into the Atlantic Ocean. Its location gave us easy access to both the hustle and bustle of the riverside Ribeira district and to the Atlantic Coast side with its beaches. By the way , in case anyone didn’t know, the Atlantic Ocean is very cold. You can easily walk from the hotel in either direction along perfectly flat riverside and coastal pavements. I would estimate that the walk from the hotel into Porto takes about a hour. The public transport in Porto is fantastic and the number 500 bus will also take you in either direction for €2.50. There is also the option of taking one of the historic trams from nearby the hotel into Porto for , I think, €6.. The hotel itself is very clean throughout.our room was sparse but perfectly comfortable with a large bathroom and a great shower. The buffet breakfast was good and would certainly set you up for the day’s adventures. An added bonus was the rooftop bar which afforded excellent views and a welcoming cold drink at the end of the day. The rooftop pool was smaller than I had envisaged but I hadn’t planned to use it anyway. We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel and as a base of operations it suited us perfectly

Abitudine di viaggiare in tutto il mondo in hotel come in ostelli di gioventù, presso l’invìato o persino in campeggio, non avevo mai avuto una simile esperienza. Certo, la cena del self è comestibile e non si deve essere esigente. I’era con 3 amiche in una stanza che dava su turni e noi prendeva i docce comuni e WC. Suli 3 WC, nessuno chiudeva a chiave. Così, quando siamo arrivati abbiamo avuto la buona sorpresa di avere capelli e capelli sulle nostre lastre. Naturalmente, il personale è accogliente, ma quando abbiamo visto una puntura di letto (VEDI FOTO) su uno dei nostri mattoni, non ha fatto il necessario. Infatti, si è contentato di venire nella stanza per asperger la punaise de lit avec une bombe spéciale puis il l’a retiré avec un mouchoir et a seulement changé le drape du sous. Ci resta ancora l’altra metà della settimana in questo ostello e non abbiamo cambiato letto o camera mentre le punaise si trovano nelle matola e quindi necessitano di un intervento speciale. Stonatoriamente, sono andata a vedere le opinioni sull’albero e ero lontana da essere l’unica a aver trovato delle punaise de lit. In breve, non vi consiglio questo albero se volete passare un buon soggiorno a Porto.

We just came back from a 4 night stay. We highly recommend this hotel. The staff was amazing (Miguel and Gabriel) were especially helpful upon check in and other occasions. It was easy to use public transportation (close-by). The beach is right down the street. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Grocery Store next door. Bar Staff were amazing. Air Conditioning was nice and cold. Rooms were clean, beds were super comfortable. Highly recommended!

Le strutture sono grandi e molto moderne, il colazione è stato sorprendente e ha avuto una grande varietà di scelte.

A well situated hotel on a traffic circle, with a very large dirt parking lot on the next street, just past the Burger King. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast very varied, in small servings. The bathrooms are old fashioned and the stock of towels reduced to a minimum. The staff is not very experienced - when guests arrive at 2:30 am they let them have loud conversations in the lobby, that wakes up people sleeping on the 2nd floor, and even worse, they put them in rooms adjoining those already occupied. The hotel has 9 floors and was almost empty, but they don't even have the attention to install these customers on another floor or at least leave a break room, so we only went back to sleep after 3 am. The walls are thin and the conversation could be heard perfectly. Another sample of inexperience: the receptionist who went to see why our TV had ”no signal” suggested that the maintenance could deal with the problem (a broken cable) the next day, and looked like he had heard a bright idea when I suggested he go to an unoccupied room to get an identical cable, which he happily did.

Ho prenotato questo hotel nel 2021, la prenotazione è stata confermata e inviata al mio email, tuttavia, quando arriviamo nei giorni 15/07/2022, che cosa sorprende quando dicono che non ha alcuna prenotazione registrata nel mio nome, Ovviamente ho mostrato alla receptionista che, come noi eravamo incredibili, il peggio è che l'hotel era pieno. Lì hanno risolto e ci hanno aspettato in una stanza di riserva dietro la reception. Bene, cosa dire! La stanza era super antica, l'a/c non funzionava, cercavamo di aprire una finestra, ma era quasi impossibile, quando siamo riusciti a chiudere di nuovo a causa del rumore delle macchine. Il pavimento era alcatizzato e tutto sporco e in cattivo stato, Per non parlare che era un posto di passaggio al ristorante. Un'esperienza così cattiva! Punte positiva il WC era stato rinnovato. La notte successiva ci hanno messo in una stanza al primo piano, onestamente in infrastrutture era quasi uguale, ma il bagno era molto pessimo il doccia sgusciava ovunque. Onestamente, penso che fosse il peggiore 4 stelle in cui sono mai stato. Almeno il colazione era ragionevole. La custodia via email è anche molto cattivo. Inoltre, svalutano anche il cliente, non credo mai avevo una così cattiva esperienza.

L’hotel ha un trattamento per gli ospiti impeccabile ed io mi sento molto più che a casa. Ringrazio i receptionist del turno di pomeriggio e notturno per la cortesia ed il sorriso. Se non ci fossero loro questo hotel non sarebbe così bello. Grazie ragazzi 5 stelle meritate

Ho soggiornato qui con 2 amici la settimana scorsa per 5 notti in una camera tripla. Parola di avvertimento per chiunque considera una camera tripla - c'è un minimo di privacy! Anche se le opzioni per la colazione sono buone, può diventare affettuoso nella camera da colazione. Una mattina, entrambe le macchine caffè si sono rotte, il che significa che abbiamo dovuto lasciare l'hotel per ottenere il caffè che non è ideale. Questa mattina sembra che l'hotel fosse a corto raggio di personale, perché non c'era cucina o piatti, tazze, ecc. Dobbiamo andare a scrivere questa mattina e trovare colazione altrove. Il giovane che lavora il turno notturno sembra non piacere molto al suo lavoro. L'abbiamo incontrato qualche volta. Ho cercato di parlare con lui due volte, egli non si sconvolse di cercare di assumersi, ma abbiamo anche preso l'ascensore una mattina, e ci hanno voluto circa cinque minuti per un membro del personale, nonostante la pressione della campana tre volte. Possiamo andare a terra con l'ascensore (per lasciarla in buio!) e una volta aperta la porta ci hanno detto che ”a volte succede”. E' stato così cortese e utile e ha sempre voluto parlare.È per questo che questa recensione è 3 stelle contro 2.

I arrived at the hotel on 20 November 2022 for a 5 night stay. The stay was business related and with so many hotels to choose from, I decided to go with the Porto Palacio. What an excellent choice! The hotel is absolutely brilliant - I cannot find a fault. Check-in was very smooth and on arrival to the room - wow - very modern, crisp clean sheets on the bed and a spacious room. In terms of food, the Breakfast experience was the best part of the stay for me. I have stayed in many hotels around the world - both on a personal basis and a business basis - I can honestly say that the breakfast staff at the Porto Palacio are the best I've ever come across. On arrival, I was seated quickly. On Day 1, the staff members memorised what I had that cannot be chosen by the buffet - for example, a tea and two plates (as I like two plates) - on Days 2 and for the rest of the trip, I didn't even need to ask. I was called by my Title and Surname on arrival. The whole experience was brilliant. I would like to mention a lady called Rosa and another lady (they both greet staff members at the door) - their hospitality skills are great and they are always smiling - nothing is too much for them. I didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening but had room service as personally, I like to relax after a day at the office. The food was of good quality and was tasty and piping hot. I used the gym during my stay - the gym is open to members of the public, therefore is not your usual hotel gym. It's huge - there are loads of machines and I was never waiting for someone to finish using something. Staff members are friendly. All in all - a brilliant stay and is a genuine 5 star hotel! I will return to the Porto Palacio both on a business basis and also on a personal basis - Porto looks like a great city! It's a shame that I didn't have time to look around as I had a busy schedule but I will certainly be back! Thank you!!

L'hotel è situato nella zona di Trindade, molto vicino alla zona turistica di Porto e a 5 minuti a piedi da Avenida Aliados. Hotel moderno e pulito con buoni servizi. Il penultimo giorno della nostra vacanza in Portogallo abbiamo avuto un incidente e il personale dell'hotel ci ha aiutato a comunicare con l'ospedale, dato che non parliamo portoghese. Personalmente consiglio questo hotel per l'ottima posizione ed i servizi, ma soprattutto per il trattamento e la qualità del personale e del servizio.
