Hotel con parcheggio a Ōmachi

This is the first time I stayed at a Hoshino resort. Perhaps my expectations were too high.  Food quality was the best reason to stay here. The restaurant offers an elaborate menu. The onsen is the next big feature of the hotel. It was not as big as seen in the advertisement. Perhaps wide angle was used. Location was not great. Not much to do nearby. The free transfers to Omachi helped to kill time if you have no plan to ski at Hakuba.  Service was patchy. Below are two examples: 1) Asked reception about train tickets conditions in general but the response was we are not train company. We know that but would appreciate help in calling into the train company or checking their website in Japanese. 2) Over a supposedly fancy dinner, the server was rushing us to finish by asking us to move unfinished food items from one plate or another by ourselves to make space for the next dish. I would have expected the server to wait for us. On another occasion, the server left the next dish on the table, with lid closed, without explaining what it is. We were not sure if we should start eating or wait. The server came back in a few minutes realizing that she had not explained to us yet and apologized.  With better service and things to do nearby, the hotel will see happier customers.

Consider cheaper choices between surround …only is surround not much dinner meal reataurant choices .. But great for the environment

Everything was ok, quite standard. It was clean and really, no problems. I only have a slight issue with the toilet: The shared toilet is shockingly small, and for the female one, it says that 2 can fit in there. Thankfully I was alone for my showers if not it would be really awkward. I also found it weird how if the main toilet door opens, the person changing can be seen by anyone outside. :( Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and a good rest point for those going on the kurobe alpine route trail.

I’ve stayed at many ryokans throughout my travels—often making up half of each trip—but this one felt a bit different. It seemed to be run by just one person, who I assume is the owner. Everything was self-service, which might be understandable considering it was the most affordable option among the ryokans in the area. Most amenities required an extra fee, such as towels. Payment was made by dropping coins into a basket and making your own change, which wasn’t very convenient—especially since I didn’t carry much cash. One thing I appreciated was the luggage delivery service. I was able to leave my bag at the lobby before check-out and have it sent to Toyama Station (for about 4,000 JPY, cash only). What stood out was the creativity in the shared spaces. There were several common rooms designed for relaxing and spending time—perfect if you’re traveling with friends. You could play ping pong, read books, watch TV, or use the canteen, which had a microwave and dishes available. They even had coin-operated massage chairs and a small fitness room. However, I must mention two important downsides: 1. Limited nearby dining options – Many restaurants shown as open on Google Maps were actually closed. The only one that was open had extremely slow service—I waited nearly an hour for dinner. 2. Insects—large ones – Unfortunately, I encountered big insects in my room, which made it hard to sleep. (He even provided insect-catch tape for me while introduce the room) I stayed awake most of the night, worrying it might come back—especially stressful since I had to get up early the next morning to catch a bus to Ogizawa. Minds you, stairs only, need to carry your luggage down by yourself. Overall, while it offers good value for the area and has unique communal features, this ryokan may not suit travelers who prefer full service, cashless payment, or guaranteed comfort.

L'Hotel White Grand Hakuba si trova in montagna, circa 30-minute, a partire dalla zona principale (Stazione Hakuba / Terminal Happo Bus), perfetto per coloro che, come me, preferiscono un ambiente più tranquillo e più segreto. L'hotel offre un servizio di navetta giornaliera tra l'hotel, la stazione Hakuba e il Lion Café, che si trova convenientemente vicino al terminal di Happo Bus. Non c'è bisogno di preoccuparsi di essere “immobili” nelle montagne, ricordate di prenotare i vostri posti di navetta in anticipo. Gli interni della stanza e il panorama circostante sono bellissimi, le parole non possono descriverlo completamente; è qualcosa che devi davvero sperimentare per te stesso. Uno dei più grandi evidenziatori è la comodità di sci-in, sci-out. Potete iniziare a sciare o a snowboard proprio fuori dall'hotel. Ho scelto questo luogo principalmente per il suo facile accesso al snowboard, come noi eravamo principianti e volevamo un posto meno ricco di imparare. La vista dall'alto della cortina era magnifica, e si poteva anche vedere il lago. Il personale è molto amichevole, utile e caldo. Ci sono diversi membri del personale che parlano inglese, sia giapponese che non giapponese, che hanno reso la comunicazione facile. Abbiamo avuto colazione e cena al ristorante interno, e i pasti erano buoni e soddisfacenti. Il cibo è libero di usarlo al mattino, e la sera è disponibile per uso privato a un costo aggiuntivo, che mi sembrava molto utile. In generale, sarei certamente tornato, molto raccomandato.

It’s just a guesthouse but everything was clean. The only thing is there’s no key to lock the door. No towel and amenities all be given. I think the area is too safe hence the owner thinks no keys neededi

È un bel posto, personale molto utile, cibo molto gustoso e molto comodo per rimanere.😊

E'solo vicino alla stazione, ma il capo non può vedere la superficie, ma mi sento molto amichevole.Ci sono frigorifero, microonde e casinò (prima delle 10) molto bello.
