DDima RezanovWe stayed in the capsule-style cottages and overall had a very good experience. Pros: 1. Beautiful hotel with a well-maintained and attractive territory. 2. Easy and smooth check-in and access. 3. The cottages are located separately from the main building (about 500 meters away), creating a quiet and private atmosphere. 4. Rooms are spacious, clean, modern, and cozy, with fully working amenities such as Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a projector. 5. Option to choose between a cottage with a jacuzzi or a private pool. 6. Very pet-friendly policy — pets are allowed with no extra charge or deposit. 7. BBQ facilities available; guests can use a grill, and the hotel can also provide one. 8. Convenience store in the main building with drinks and basic daily items. 9. Underground parking with EV charging stations, plus additional parking near the cottages. 10. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise — very diverse, with a mix of Chinese dishes and almost European-style options. Everything was tasty and plentiful, and there was a wide selection. 11. Guests can also take food in a lunch box to go, which is a great and very convenient option. Cons: 1. EV charging infrastructure can be inconvenient at times, as the number of stations is limited and they may be occupied during busy periods, especially on weekends. 2. Food delivery is not available directly to the cottages — guests need to go to the main building to pick up orders from the restaurant. For us this was not an issue at all, but for some guests it might feel a bit less convenient, especially in bad weather or at night. Overall: A modern, comfortable, and quiet stay with excellent facilities and a very pet-friendly policy. We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast and overall experience, and we will definitely come back again. A great hotel overall.

MMasalHKRooms: Good size room, 6/F partly refurbished (especially electrics, carpets), 4/F not done. They have an executive lounge but it is just a lounge, no benefits that you get in other hotels. Facilities: 2/F has pool tables, table tennis, card/mahjong rooms, gym; Floor B1 has a huge pool. All quite busy as they allow members of the public to pay to use. Breakfast: Good, some western options. RMB40/pax at hotel. Location: Perfect. easy walk to Daming Lake, Kuanhouli, Black Tiger Spring, shops. It is on the route of the Tourist shuttle bus which costs RMB5/day and goes to all the main sites. Frequent at weekends, less so weekdays. Restaurants: Lots around hotel. South to malls on Quancheng Road where there are lots of all you can eat hotpot and BBQ. Also south to Kuanhouli, the snack street and some good restaurants (Huixian Floor Restaurant). North is the famous Shandong restaurant: Kui Sheng Ju. There was always a queue so we went to a similar restaurant across the street from it. Also next to it is the Jia Chuan Min Guangzhou restaurant which is excellent. Service: We had a problem with the shower on 6/F as water pressure was very low or just cut out altogether. Initially we asked the front desk staff to sort it out but not much happened. Then asked the duty manager and he was very helpful and moved us to a suite on the 4/F. So if you have a problem, make sure you ask for some one in authority and the service will be excellent. Language: Mandarin only Will defintely consider again if we return to Jinan.

AAL1988This hostel is exactly what a solo traveler needs. It’s near a metro station with a good price and lots of equipment. The hostel is big enough and everyone has his own locker and slippers. The hostel staff are very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and there is an AC in every room. I totally suggest this hostel to anyone coming to Jinan staying short or long. The location is right behind the Daming Hu (Daming Lake) and there are various shops around it. I stayed in this hostel for more than a week and I was absolutely amazed and satisfied.

UUtente anonimoI would like to extend my special thanks to Chu Yi at the Garden Road branch near Daming Lake in Jinan. As a foreigner on a solo business trip to China, when my phone couldn't connect to the local network, it meant I had no way to pay for anything. I couldn't buy food, couldn't get around, and was completely cut off from the outside world. I was filled with a sense of helplessness being alone in a foreign land. Upon hearing this, the hotel staff immediately contacted a nearby China Unicom service center where I could get a SIM card using my passport. The next morning, Ms. Chu Yi from the front desk, concerned about my language barrier and difficulty getting around, proactively offered to accompany me to the service center to help with the procedures. The moment my phone successfully connected to the network, what I felt was not just the restoration of a signal, but a profound sense of relief. This warmth continued throughout my entire stay: the housekeeping staff thoughtfully prepared a power adapter in my room; the restaurant staff enthusiastically recommended delicious and agreeable dishes during my meals. From Chu Yi's exceptional initiative at the front desk to the meticulous and warm service from housekeeping and the restaurant, your actions perfectly embodied the meaning of ”a home away from home.” This transcends nationality—it's all about heartfelt care. Jinan is a warm city, but Atour is even warmer. On all my future business trips to China, I will definitely choose to stay at Atour. I wish Atour and the wonderful Ms. Chu Yi all the best

UUtente ospiteI found what looked like an engorged tick or bedbug crawling up my bed. The hotel is pretty and I booked it for 1 night as a luxury treat so I could get a good rest for my layover stop to another destination. My room smelt like stale smoke unfortunately, though I had asked for non-smoking. I paid extra on my booking for breakfast and had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast at 6.30am and go to the airport at 7.20am. My room had a bathtub so I took a bath before bedtime and went to bed at midnight, I got up to go switch the lamp off at 1am and found this bug crawling up the side of my bed going towards me. I think it's either a tick or a bed bug, the body was full of blood. It had 6 or 8 legs, difficult to see but I took a video which doesn't allow me to upload. I don't have any problems with normal bugs such as spiders, but if it is a tick or bedbug it is a big problem. I was really worried there were more hiding inside the bed, I called reception for help and they looked at the bug which I caught in a glass cup. They apologised deeply and changed my room, so I had to move at 1.30am. I explained I was already tired and have to wake up early. In the new room I was unable to sleep as I kept worrying about bed bugs. I got up multiple times to check my bed. And there was a noisy couple next door talking loudly until very late so I couldn't sleep. For a luxury hotel you should not need to loose a whole night's sleep because you are worried about bedbugs or ticks biting you. Nor should be able to hear noise from other guests through the wall. I was extremely exhausted the next day and did not have any appetite. I asked if they could refund the extra I paid for breakfast because I couldn't eat it, but they said it wasn't possible. So I forced myself to try eat 1 egg and some small rice porridge but couldn't finish it. Really expensive to pay for breakfast and hardly eat, it's a shame they couldn't refund the breakfast considering I had no sleep. For a 5* hotel, I would like to have good rest and peaceful sleep. But it was not like that. The staff were very kind and helpful, but it's not so easy to travel here alone. It was not easy to book a taxi for the following morning to the airport and it took 40 minutes of assistance, the man was very kind and helpful, but the hotel should make an easier system for foreign guests to book taxi. When I first arrived in Jinan airport, I had no idea how to get to the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel so you cannot withdraw cash, and you cannot pay with foreign card to book a taxi. The shangri-la website did not provide any details for public transport. It simply said bus transfer was available but did not say which number bus. I would give the details here but I have forgotten the route name and bus number now as it was hectic and I was very tired, sorry. I had to waste a lot of time trying to ask for help at the airport as the staff did not speak English. Luckily someone helped me. The bus will cost 20yuan and take you into the centre where you will see the intercontinental hotel and a large shopping mall on the left side of the bus, get off at that stop, it takes 1 hour. From there it's only 5 minutes walk to shangri-la. For a big hotel they should provide easy instructions on the website to guests. The staff apologised deeply for the bug on the bed, and offered 10% reduction of the room rate. Although when I checked out no refund was given and they didn't mention anything about it, I think they just charged full price. Personally I think 10% is not enough anyway. Nobody wants to change rooms at 1.30am because of bugs crawling on the bed. I didn't get any sleep at all and felt itchy because I kept thinking about bugs and couldn't eat the breakfast. I was absolutely exhausted the following day so I was unable to do anything at my next destination and had to waste 1 day more to rest. Unfortunately not an easy experience at the shangri-la.

Once you get past the first floor shock, what you get is almost full hotel vibes. The ”soft water” that they provided makes your skin feels smooth too.
