Fantastico
EEntengInaMoWe absolutely loved our stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge! Location is a solid 5/5 — close to everything we needed and super convenient for exploring Banff.
As a couple traveling on a budget, we found the price very reasonable, almost comparable to the nearby hostel, which made the comfort and quality here feel like an even better value.
Special shoutout to their toilet amenities — they smelled so good they actually made us walk into the Rocky Mountain Soap store afterward and buy things we definitely didn’t need (lol). No regrets though!
The breakfast was superb, delicious, fresh, and a perfect start to our days.
Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely stay here again!

SSXADOWHotel Canoe is in perfect walking distance to Banff’s Main Street. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Having parking included with the room was a bonus.
The heated pools are a definite highlight with gorgeous views of the mountains. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need for the stay.
We ate breakfast at Sudden Sally only once but had a good experience, with friendly staff, good food choices and good portion sizes.
Highly recommend staying here.

The room itself was quite clean except that as soon as we entered, there were flies including fruit flies… Other than that, the room was big and warm. It had a keep safe too.
The washroom was quite small, it was hard to close the door but it worked out.

LLai HengOverall, it is a good stay in Banff. Walking distance to the mail street. There is one thing that can be improved, you can only go to the basement carpark after you check in at the counter. However, there is no space around the hotel front to temporarily park your car while you check in.

UUtente anonimoStayed for a short weekend trip in Nov. We got a nice corner room on the third floor with 1 king bed and it was really cozy and comfortable with a mountain view. Unfortunately, the hot tub was closed at that time for maintenance (?). Overall, I would highly recommend it.

UUtente ospiteWe stayed at Royal Canadian Lodge in Banff from March 26–29 with my 7-year-old daughter, and overall we had a great experience.
Check-in was simple and straightforward. We arrived in the early evening, and Jason at the front desk was the most approachable and helpful hotel staff member I have ever dealt with. He remembered my daughter’s name, greeted her every day, checked in with us throughout our stay, and added little touches that made the trip feel extra special for both of us.
The renovated room itself was fairly standard for a hotel room, but comfortable. Our room had two queen beds, which worked well for us. The bathroom had a shower only, with no bathtub, but that was not an issue. The pillows were big and lumpy, all 8 of the pillows in our room were too high/tall for my daughter to use comfortably. There are robes provided in the room, it would be a nice touch if they could also provide kids size robes. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee, and kettle with tea provided in the room.
We ordered room service one night and tried the pulled pork poutine, which was the daily special from the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was not very good, and I would not recommend it.
The TV included free cable and on-demand programming, as well as pay-per-view movies. I had brought my laptop and an HDMI cord, and we were able to connect it to the TV easily to watch our own movies. Watching on-demand, my daughter discovered The Simpsons and loved it (lol)
The pool area was a big highlight for us. The pool is salt water rather than chlorine. The water itself was on the cooler side, but there was also a good-sized hot tub and a large steam room. My daughter quickly made friends with another family staying at the hotel, and the kids spent multiple hours a day in the pool together.
The gym was small but functional. In the four days we were there, it was empty every time we walked by.
Parking is $20 per day, which does add up. There is also free street parking behind the hotel if you are able to find a spot.
One fun feature in the lobby was the robot, which the kids absolutely loved. We were told that after construction is complete, it will be delivering items to guest rooms. During our stay it moved around the lobby, told jokes, and handed out free apples.
The hotel was reasonably priced compared with other options in the area. I chose it specifically for the pool setup, knowing we would be spending a lot of time there, and it worked out really well for that. Shops and restaurants on the main street were about a 10-minute walk away, or you could take the bus that stops outside the neighboring hotel for $2 per ride, with kids riding free.
I would definitely stay here again in the future. The price, location, rooms, and pool make this a very family-friendly hotel option in Banff.

UUtente ospiteThey need assigned parking, otherwise you might end up having to park aways a way from your room. Also the walk way to our unit and stairway was all covered with snow and ice. It would’ve been nice if it was all cleaned before we got there. We had to ask the front desk three times before anything was done. Also we wanted to go into the hot tubs, but we were unable to. Due to there was way too much many people that were in there at the time. So we left for a couple hours and came back, thought ok let’s try again (hot tub). Once again unable to cause it was still packed with the same people. Other than that, everything was pretty good.

UUtente ospiteIl personale era amichevole e utile, e ci trovava una spugna di neve quando ci siamo resi conto che avevamo lasciato la nostra casa. La posizione è perfetta, a soli 10 minuti a piedi dal centro, così si evita la difficoltà di cercare di trovare parcheggio nel centro. Se camminare non è una scelta per voi (limitazioni fisiche, vacanza lenta ...o Hanover) c'è un fermo di autobus fuori. C'è un ristorante attaccato se vuoi solo restare in una volta. La nostra stanza era grande e pulita con frigorifero a microonde e caffè. No, ma non sono neanche io, e al prezzo, assolutamente bene!

UUtente ospiteWe did a little staycation in Banff from Calgary and overall had a great time.
The cave pool was a big hit, but just a heads up that it’s not really a “swimming pool.” It’s more like a large cave-style hot tub. It’s shallow, and the water is fairly hot, so the kids couldn’t really swim or put their faces under the water. The cave setup is very cool though, and the adults really enjoyed it for relaxing. The dry sauna was also great.
We stayed in a suite with two double beds, plus a living area with a sofa bed, a dining area, and a kitchenette. We were happy with the layout. The suite was clean, but it is definitely dated.
One downside was the TVs. I know you don’t go to Banff to sit and watch TV, but it would be nice if they updated to smart TVs. If you’re traveling with kids, I’d suggest bringing a Fire Stick or Chromecast. Even an HDMI cable to connect a laptop would work, but make sure you download movies ahead of time because the Wi-Fi in our area was pretty spotty and the kids kept losing connection.
The front desk staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. They made parking easy, provided bus passes, and explained local info without us having to ask a bunch of questions.
We’d stay here again, and next time we’ll definitely bring something for the TV so we can do an easy movie night after a busy day.

UUtente ospiteGreat value for money. Easy stroll to ski bus stop and the town centre, but a quiet, secluded location. Our room was very clean and spacious. Coffee and tea making, plus fridge, tv etc... were fine and a microwave was available in the hallway. The room was warm, however difficult to control the room temp and unfortunately an air con vent was always on and not controllable. Therefore a background noise all the time. The decor was also a little dated. However, the staff were all friendly and helpful and the next door hotel provided a smart pool and sauna area, as well as a great restaurant for breakfasts. Overall a good experience and would definitely consider staying again.
