Hotel vicino a Chiesa de Santo Ildefonso, Porto

I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was hands down the best decision of my entire trip to Porto. If any of my friends or family visit Porto, I would literally force them to book this place. If you are debating between this and a slightly cheaper, mediocre hotel, do yourself a favor and choose this residence. It offers absolute value for money. 1. Unbeatable Location The location is incredible—literally right next to São Bento Station. If you walk down the slope right across the street, you end up right under the Dom Luís I Bridge. If you walk up the slope to the left, you can reach Jardim do Morro in just about 8 minutes. Having the metro station right outside means you can easily get anywhere, whether it’s Rua de Santa Catarina or the Gaia district. It was so convenient that I could visit a tourist spot, come back to the room for a quick nap, and head out again for evening sightseeing. 2. Excellent Room Condition & Value The condition of the residence is top-notch. Instead of spending money on an awkwardly priced, lower-quality hotel, staying here gives you premium comfort for an amazing price. It is truly the perfect budget-friendly luxury. 3. Fantastic Amenities (Washing Machine & Cooktop) Whether Porto is your first stop or you are coming from Lisbon, you’ll eventually need to do laundry or crave some comfort food. The room comes equipped with a washing machine and an induction cooktop. It was amazing to be able to do my piled-up laundry and cook some ramen after buying groceries at the supermarket. This feature alone makes it a must-stay destination during your journey. [Conclusion] This place is flawless in terms of location, price, and convenience. Don't hesitate—just book it. You won't regret it!

Hotel maravilhoso, piscina incrível e o staff simpático, na sua maioria

Last year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment. Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately. The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied. The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too. Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out. The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

Abbiamo avuto un bel soggiorno in questo hotel. La posizione era la cosa migliore. È a piedi dal centro, a piedi, alla maggior parte dei luoghi che volevamo visitare. La notte scorsa, abbiamo avuto la fortuna di vedere illuminare il Natale e i fuochi d'artificio che erano situati fuori dall'hotel. Le camere erano pulite e spaziose, e il bagno era una buona opzione per una mattina. volevamo rilassarci. Tutti i membri del personale che abbiamo incontrato sono stati molto benvenuti!

One of the Best Serviced Apartments We’ve Stayed At This was easily the best serviced apartment we’ve stayed at recently. All the facilities were brand new, and the cleanliness—especially in the kitchen and bathroom—surpassed even some 4-star hotels. Everything we needed was provided, and the interior design was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable. Great location, great price, great amenities. Here are a few potential downsides that might matter to some guests: • The internet was very slow. The Wi-Fi signal on the second floor was the strongest, so we used that, but it was barely sufficient for even checking emails. It felt as if the connection was intentionally throttled. If you need stable internet for work, tethering through your phone might actually be faster. • No elevator. Our unit was located on the second floor, and we had to carry about 30kg of luggage up the stairs ourselves. Even a small, old-fashioned lift would have been a huge help. • Noise from upstairs. Although the apartment was newly renovated, the flooring is still the original wooden structure, so noise from the upper floor can be heard. We were tired enough to sleep through it with earplugs, but sensitive guests should take this into account. Booking the top-floor unit might solve this issue, though that means climbing even more stairs. • Early check-in confusion. We had requested an early check-in, but it wasn’t communicated properly. As a result, we had to drop off our luggage at the YOUROPO office, which is about a 6–7 minute walk from the apartment. I wonder if we could’ve left our luggage directly at the property if the message had gone through properly—perhaps someone from the team could clarify? Despite these minor issues, I would still give this property a full 5 stars. If we visit Porto again, YOUROPO will be at the top of our list.

The least you expect from a five star hotel was a good service and cleanlinless. We stayed here for 5 nights and they did not change our bedsheet even though it was written that they will change it every 3 days, no refill of water, no refill of tissues and coffee and tea we had to request it. There’s a small cockroach in the bathtub. At the front desk they don’t even greet you whenever you passby I am not being entitled that I should be greeted I just compare it to other hotel where they always smile. It’s hard to call the front desk sometimes it will take 5 minutes.  On the positive side the food in the restaurant was really good and the drinks at the bar those who are working there was really nice and attentive too. I’d like to commend also Fabrizio who always smile and who helps us with our luggage when we check in and check out.

L'ostello è vicino la chiesa di Santa Catarina. Posizione ottima con bar carini vicini. L'ostello è molto pulito e gli spazi in comune sono gestiti molto bene (cucina, salotto, e giardino fuori) ci ritornerei volentieri. Ho dormito nel dormitorio di 12 persone misto e sono stata bene.

La posizione era buona: vicino alla Casa da Musica e al principale arrotondamenti di Boa Vista. L'appartamento era pulito e abbastanza grande per un paio di notti di soggiorno. L'unica questione che abbiamo vissuto è il sistema di codice della porta. Quando siamo arrivati all'edificio il primo giorno, la porta principale era aperta, esponendo l'edificio al furto. Il secondo giorno non potevamo aprire la porta principale utilizzando il codice fornito. (Il codice funzionava il primo giorno.) Noi abbiamo mandato un messaggio all'operatore utilizzando la loro piattaforma e non abbiamo ricevuto alcuna risposta. Noi abbiamo chiamato l'operatore, ma nessuno ha risposto al telefono. Dopo che era piovuto, siamo andati a Casa da Musica per proteggerci dalla pioggia. Poi l’operatore ha chiamato indietro e ci ha chiesto di mandare un video di quello che è successo al codice della porta. Dopo aver lasciato l’edificio, non potevamo prendere il video. Poi hanno accettato di guardarlo. Ci hanno risposto che abbiamo rifiutato di rispettare inviando un video. Ci hanno poi chiesto di ignorare il messaggio e hanno detto che era la loro comunicazione interna e ci è stata inviata per errore, ma ha dimostrato che non capivano perché non volevamo tornare all'edificio in pioggia per prendere il video che avevano Dopo un’ora di noi che avevamo sollevato la questione con loro, finalmente hanno mandato qualcuno aprire la principale entrata per noi. La persona ha detto che la questione del codice di entrata non era nuova! Era una cattiva esperienza e abbiamo sprecato un’ora. Riconsidereremmo seriamente di rimanere in un luogo gestito da questo operatore.
