Hobart: hotel con bar

When you arrive at the Grand Chancellor you will find a tiny front drive that can fit about 4 cars, where you are supposed to be able to park, check in, and then move your car to their underground parking. However, this front drive is not monitored so when we arrived the driveway was completely full with no one there to direct us anywhere. We drove around the block to enter the underground parking and unloaded our bags which we had to carry up the stairs from the parking garage as there was no guest lift that we could easily find (good luck if you have trouble with stairs). At the bottom of the stairs there is a button that you can supposedly use to call someone to assist with your bags. We tried to use this and though we could hear the bell upstairs, it was not answered (even just to let us know that someone would come), so we gave up and carried our bags up the stairs. Upon arrival to the room, we noticed it was clearly very dated. We could see some effort had been made to update the rooms visually but the installations felt very half-****d. For instance instead of a shower curtain for the bath tub there was a half glass pane that is delightfully too short and instead bounces water off its side and onto the floor. A rainfall showerhead had also been installed but it seemed like an afterthought as it was crooked and had poor water pressure. We then tried to use the pool. Upon entry, I felt like I was taken back in time to the days of dark and damp fitness centers and unmaintained pool floors & furniture. There were no staff nearby and the entire area was a mess. Walking into the locker rooms was a shock with horrible banged up smelly lockers (many of which were open but had no key to lock it!) and awful grey blue shiny tiles that bounce the cold flickering white light around. The shared sauna between male and female locker rooms was also a joke. We left without even bothering to get changed or use the pool. We then attempted to dine at the restaurant in the hotel lobby. The host at the front asked if we had a reservation which we did not. He then looked around at the many empty tables as if he was not sure what to do and then asked us to ”wait outside” as he checked availability. We have never been asked to exit any restaurant whilst they searched for a table (even in much busier restaurants) and we were very frustrated by this request. We waited outside over 5 minutes and then decided to leave and ask the front desk staff for other local restaurant recommendations. As we were on our way out, we noticed the restaurant host was hovering nearby as if he had found us a table and was waiting for us to be done but we left without another look. Upon arriving back in our room after dinner and turning off the lights to sleep, we were graced with the hallway light streaming through the large cracks in the poorly fitted door. Abbiamo alloggiato 3 notti in questo elegante hotel dal fascino coloniale e siamo stati davvero bene. La camera pulita e confortevole aveva l'affaccio su un atrio interno dove c’erano i tavoli per i pasti. La colazione era buona, forse mi aspettavo un pizzico di scelta in più ma eravamo in bassa stagione. Di fronte la reception c’è il fornito Orient bar per provare cocktail, whiskey, etc. e mangiare qualcosa fino a sera; l’hotel ha anche un ristorante che però non ho provato. La posizione infine è ottima per girare la città e dintorni. C’è un parcheggio riservato ai clienti che avevamo richiesto in fase di prenotazione: si trova al multipiano di fronte l’hotel e al check-in viene data una tessera da restituire poi alla partenza.

Resta perfetta nel cuore della tranquillità di Hobart dal fiume Derwent con vista majestosa del Monte Wellington. Le camere sono pulite ed elegante 😎 servizio fornito era eccezionale consigliererebbe molto questo posto a chiunque

È stato un soggiorno fantastico. Il tempo ci ha lasciato un po' meno, anche se non poteva essere risolto anche dall'eccellente servizio clienti. Il personale era così attento e piacevole. Le strutture erano eccellenti per il nostro soggiorno di 3 giorni con un letto a rotelle, perché ci servivano due zone di dormire separate. Le strutture cucina erano eccellenti per le nostre esigenze. La vista era molto buona sul fiume Derwent. La camera da letto era eccellente e la lavatrice e asciugatrice erano molto apprezzate. La posizione era fantastica con tutti i siti a piedi. Non può essere consigliata abbastanza.

Da Check-in a Check-out, l'esperienza era senza saldatura. Fantastico personale di alloggio, grande, pratico e confortevole. I migliori vestiti da bagno di qualsiasi hotel ovunque sul pianeta. Non può essere consigliato abbastanza. Dopo aver soggiornato in molti altri hotel di alto livello a Hobart, non saremmo rimasti altrove quando torneremo. 11/10.

Siamo rimasti al quinto piano, davanti alla strada principale, ma la stanza era molto tranquilla, senza nulla di rumore da traffico o camere adiacenti. Se hai pagato per colazione, includeva sia cibo continentale che cibo caldo con una vasta selezione per soddisfare tutti i requisiti alimentari. Il ristorante è specializzato in cibi asiatici. Il pollo e il potato curry del capitano erano un favorito. Le camere erano pulite e 100% funzionali, in quanto in ogni camera è lasciato un feedback di manutenzione. Le tende di smarrimento hanno fermato tutta la luce per coloro che amano dormire o superare la decelerazione del jet. La sicurezza è stata migliorata con l'accesso alla carta di camera agli ascensori. È stato un cammino a 10 minuti a piedi, a 3 minuti a piedi alla fermata Skybus e a 5 minuti a piedi alla fermata Hop-on-hop-off. Buono valore e raccomandato.

Little bit dated. Booked through Qantas Hotels and somehow was upgraded. ( No requested room available? do not know.) Water shower deluge head is great. Plenty of towels washers etc. The body wash and shampoo bottles are squeeze to actuate, sounds simple doesn't it? Mattress very comfy. Pillow a little firm for me but I did have the choice of 5! You get a kettle and that's it. Fridge opens one way, cupboard door opens opposite way. Not user friendly. Mis mash of cups. No knife or fork. Had to book for a couple of nights the next week but was an extra 50 an night. Thought that was a bit unnecessary for a returning client booking the same room. We had two windy nights and the sliding door widows rattling was enough to keep you awake. Need to be wedged. Location to town. Excellent, walking distance.

Mi piace molto questo hotel. È stato aperto nel 2020 e ha strutture perfette. La posizione è proprio nel centro della città, il centro commerciale Myer e molti ristoranti sono al piano di sotto. Puoi scegliere il tuo pasto fisso preferito per la colazione. Se stai guidando, puoi parcheggiare davanti alla porta. La reception può aiutare con il parcheggio per 25 dollari a notte. In chiamata!

The room was clean and as described. The location is fantastic, walking distance to everything. It's a bit tight with the two beds, but we weren't spending tons of time in the room anyway. The twin bed was not the most comfortable but the queen was better. It can get a bit loud when the bar has music playing. They tell you this up front so it was expected. You can hear people pretty clearly if you're in the right part of the building, but they shut down promptly at closing time, around 9 or 10pm, and then it gets very quiet. The staff is friendly. Check-in and check out were very easy.
