RRenee C.I had a truly memorable stay at YUNDU and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, tastefully designed, and warm place to stay in Lijiang. Overall, the experience was very positive, with excellent service, cozy design, and many thoughtful touches. There were a few minor areas for improvement, but they did not take away from how much I enjoyed my stay.
Breakfast was excellent and honestly better than many meals I had outside. The local auntie who prepares breakfast is incredibly warm and friendly. The mixian is very foreigner-friendly, light, comforting, and not oily or salty like many outside options. I requested extra vegetables and additional boiled eggs, and she was more than happy to accommodate. This care really stood out.
YUNDU’s Samoyed dog, Sanjin (三斤), is truly the heart and mascot of the hotel. He is extremely friendly and intelligent. Staff would say things like “去拍照，去跟姐姐玩” and Sanjin would immediately come over. During my afternoon tea, he quietly came over and sat beside me, which was a very heart-warming moment. Upon checkout, I even received Sanjin fridge magnets and a Polaroid photo, which was incredibly thoughtful.
First impressions were great.
As part of the package, YUNDU arranged an airport pickup from Lijiang Airport using a clean, comfortable EV. The driver was friendly, chatty, and helpful, and the ride to the hotel was smooth and relaxing.
I was pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade. The upgraded room was spacious, perfect for morning stretching, and included a large and very clean bathtub. Bath balls and a sheet mask were provided, which was a lovely winter touch. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were a bit soft for me, but there were firmer ones available, and layering them worked well. The blanket was thick, soft, and warm, and even during power outages, I stayed comfortable.
Facilities were well thought out, including a Laifen hair dryer with strong airflow, a large high-definition TV facing the bed with VIP streaming access, and a large humidifier suitable for overnight use. The bathroom layout was excellent for winter, with separated toilet and shower. The electronic toilet has heating and auto-flush, and the shower area includes warm air from above. The mirror lighting is also great for makeup.
There were some minor layout quirks. There is no floor heating, and the slippers were placed far from the entrance. The electric kettle was placed on a cabinet with no power socket nearby.
Service was one of YUNDU’s strongest points. Staff helped with luggage, provided room tours, and checked in regularly via WeChat. When I mentioned possible altitude discomfort, they even gifted me an oxygen tank. The boss was friendly and happily helped me take photos with Sanjin.
The only small gap was the butler service. I only realised who my butler was on the last night, and one included service, a butler-accompanied visit to Baisha Ancient Town, which never happened — neither I nor the staff remembered it until I reviewed my package later on Trip.com. That said, my butler was extremely efficient in arranging transportation to Lugu Lake, with smooth coordination and reasonable pricing.
The entire property is tastefully decorated, cozy, and inviting. The fireplace in the lobby is a highlight and perfect for winter evenings. During my first two nights, there were power outages. While this delayed some of my work, the room stayed warm. The upside was zero light pollution, and I could see a sky full of stars, which became one of my favourite moments of the stay.
I strongly recommend YUNDU to anyone looking for a beautiful view, thoughtful design, warm service, and a cozy yet affordable stay in Lijiang. If you love Lijiang, come to Baisha. If you love Baisha, come to YUNDU.

Let us talk about the good things first.
1. Snow Mountain View rooms can see 日照金山from bed.
2. Location is good for going to snow mountain. It takes around 20min to reach visitor centre of snow mountain.
3. Service is very good. U can ask for anything and they will provide for example bubble wrap to pack our fragile shopping. There’s also free laundry service.
4. Good for those who like the activities included in the room package. We did the Naxi home visit, horse riding and art and craft diy and enjoyed them very much. We like the afternoon tea provided too. And we can have coffee and fruits as much as we want.
Now some points to note.
1. Room is a bit small for 3 of us. The toilet is like a shower cubicle that opens into the room. We only discovered the ventilation switch im the middle of the stay and was wondering why the cubicle is so stuffy, not to mention the smell. With the ventilation on, the problems are solved. The shower cubicle is opposite with the sink in between them. All open into the room with no partition around the bathroom area. The walls of the toilet and shower cubicles are frosted glass and is acceptable for me and my daughters, all ladies.
2. The village is very small. Not much to see. We went to a cafe popular on internet that can take photo on the roof with the snow mountain in the background. The drinks are ok but the pasta is not nice. Maybe that’s why this restaurant is not in the recommended list of the hotel. We did not explore the village much but from what I see, it’s just 1 short street.
3. Ask for a 3rd floor room. It has a sky roof over the bed and we can see stars when we turn off all the lights in the room.
Overall, we did not regret our decision to stay here in the Stone Lodge. If the activities were not included in the package, we would not have experienced them at all.

Per evitare di arrivare in ritardo alla partenza del treno, abbiamo chiaramente comunicato al direttore il nostro orario di check-out alle 6:20 (l'ora in cui abbiamo lasciato il cancello principale) il giorno prima e abbiamo anche confermato con lui. Tuttavia, alle 5:50 del mattino successivo, abbiamo avuto la conferma che il cancello principale non si sarebbe aperto. Siamo andati all'ufficio della direzione, ma non c'era nessuno. Abbiamo mandato messaggi e chiamato diverse volte, ma non abbiamo ricevuto risposta. Eravamo molto sorpresi e in preda al panico. Finalmente, nel buio pesto dell'alba, io e mia moglie abbiamo bussato alla porta, l'abbiamo tirata e siamo riusciti ad aprirla, scappando finalmente. · Ora del tè pomeridiano: Un tè (o caffè) indimenticabile gustato nel cortile nel pomeriggio, dal sapore autentico, accompagnato da un piccolo spuntino, è il momento più piacevole di relax durante il viaggio.
· Design eccezionale: Lo stile di decorazione generale è grandioso ed elegante, fondendo abilmente il fascino Naxi con il comfort moderno. In particolare, il cortile è ben progettato, con un paesaggio unico, dove ogni passo rivela una nuova vista, ed è il nostro posto preferito per soffermarci e sognare ad occhi aperti.
Impressione generale: Questa locanda ha superato di gran lunga le nostre aspettative di ”alloggio”. È di per sé un paesaggio nel viaggio, una stazione di sosta dove corpo e mente possono rilassarsi completamente. Lo consiglio vivamente agli amici che cercano qualità e atmosfera, torneremo sicuramente!

As Muslim travelers, we truly appreciated the convenient location—nestled in the charming, rustic old town yet just a short walk from the main road, making it easy to find halal meals without trekking far or uphill. The modern toilet with a bidet was a delightful surprise and added so much comfort to our stay.

The accommodation itself exceeds a 5-star hotel standard. From the moment you enter the room, it is clear that every element has been carefully considered. The design, attention to detail, and overall comfort reflect the work of a top-tier designer. As designers ourselves, we truly appreciated the thoughtful colour schemes, lighting choices, and smart conveniences throughout the space. Features such as the fully automatic toilet, comfortable shower, and stylish humidifier added to the sense of luxury and refinement.

Location:
Located in Yuhu Village, a charming Naxi village, the setting is both authentic and peaceful. The village atmosphere, friendly locals, and lovely coffee shops and bakeries make it a joy to explore. Innanzitutto, le strutture dell'hotel sono davvero ottime! In Yunnan, in inverno, devi avere il riscaldamento a pavimento e i bagni intelligenti. Hahaha. La stanza in cui vivo a Dali è troppo grande, quindi devo comunque affidarmi agli scaldamani per stare al caldo anche se accendo l'aria condizionata tutta la notte. Ed è davvero una benedizione avere un bagno intelligente in inverno! La stanza di Guanxin è molto accogliente, con un riscaldamento a pavimento sufficiente. Quando mi sveglio la mattina, le mie pantofole sono calde e l'acqua calda per lavarmi esce rapidamente. C'è anche una TV, un tavolo da biliardo e un tavolo da mahjong! Tutto gratis! Nel complesso, le strutture sono molto buone e l'esperienza è molto positiva.
Poi arriva il servizio. Prima del check-in, la governante ti contatterà per venirti a prendere. Il capo guiderà davvero un triciclo per aiutarti con i bagagli. Hahaha. C'è zuppa di funghi bianchi la sera e colazione la mattina. È facile soffrire di mal di montagna e scarsa resistenza quando si arriva a Lijiang, quindi il cibo leggero e pulito nella locanda è molto adatto! Nella nostra stanza non c'era segnale sulla TV e qualcuno è venuto subito a ricollegarla. Quando siamo partiti l'ultimo giorno, il capo ha addirittura organizzato il nostro accompagnamento all'aeroporto! Bellissima e di buon cuore!
Altamente raccomandato, haha, sono disposto a tornare e soggiornare qui di nuovo.

DDonn Tan PSI am Delightfully Amazed by this renowned famous Banyan Tree Hotel. It is such a Beautifully Constructed Hotel with West Lake like Environment surrounding with Villas giving you a Big Beautiful Chinese style Garden Ambience. I am lucky to get a Free Upgrade to a Villa with Swimming Pools and Jade Dragon Mountain View right in front of Bedroom with a Garden (many thanks to their front office staffs).
What impressed me the Most is all their Staffs are so Well Trained on All the Details Focusing on giving you the Best Services that Anyone would ask for. 5 Stars to their Top Management Direction, Management Implementation, All Ground Staffs Dedication to giving World Class Services.
Their Restaurant Foods Quality is also very Good and at very Reasonable Pricing for a 5 Stars Restaurant. Do get their Restaurant Breakfast Package which is really Worth it for their Variety and Good Quality Foods.
I will highly Recommend this Hotel for anyone that is Visiting Lijiang as even their Location is Perfect at the Middle of the 3 ancient towns so traveling around is within 10-25mins and away from the noisy busy ancient towns.

CChitrlada HarnWhen my mother agreed to visit Lijiang with me, I browsed many hotels in Trip.com and sorted out this hotel out of many hotels with good reviews without knowing beforehanded that this will fulfill my satisfaction to the most. Before we got there, I contacted the hotel if it is comfortable for my mom to stay there because she is 88 years old and need to use wheelchair. After that they made up a wechat group to facilitate us. The staff who took care of us , xiao juan , helped us with the trip plan, escorted us to the ancient town of Dayan and Shuhe ,lead us to understand the town of Baisha and helped us with everything we need. She shows her emphaty to people with everthing she does.All the staffs there are young , polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is very suitable for exploring the ancient town of Baisha. The view of the snow mountain can be seen from the inner garden and more clearly from the third floor of the hotel.The room is comfortable with good quality bedsheet , blanket , towels and the heating floor. The breakfast is adequate with a set of chinese small dishes together with a choice of boiled rice or noodles. They provide free coffee all day with daily afternoon tea set and late night sweet soup and plum wine. I feel like I have nothing to ask more and wish to express my gratitude to all the staffs here. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all who need to receive impressive service from these lovely staffs.
