I booked this hotel in Bath through trip.com. I took advantage of two promotions on the platform: a £5.99 railcard purchase and £5 off train tickets, both requiring booking a European hotel within 26 days through trip.com. Considering that the official website’s prices were quite similar, I went with the trip.com booking. I reserved a cozy room for 1 adult without breakfast for £113. Money-saving tip: I used TopCashback to access trip.com, earning $7.67 cashback for this booking. After I checked out, trip.com triggered an immediate discount of £10.46, which I applied to my next train ticket purchase.

This hotel falls under the Marriott Tribute Portfolio, embracing a boutique hotel approach. The entire establishment dates back to 1739, boasting a historic exterior. It’s conveniently situated just about 3 minutes’ walk from the Roman Baths and across from Sally Lunn’s. With my Marriott Platinum Card, even with a third-party reservation, the hotel upgraded us to a larger ground floor room facing the street after matching our account, but it’s not advisable due to potential noise. They also offered complimentary à la carte breakfast. Breakfast slots had to be reserved during check-in, and we chose a table at 10 AM. The breakfast was abundant, and the restaurant had a charming and lovely atmosphere. The experience was excellent (the best things are free!). Unfortunately, I don’t have space for more photos, but I’ll post one of the restaurant later.
The room was quite small, designed in a modern British style, with a movie-themed decor according to the posters on the wall. All the amenities were provided, with local brand toiletries available for purchase at the front desk for £25 for two bottles. They were decent, but nothing extraordinary to consider bringing back home. The minibar had coffee, various teas, semi-skimmed milk packets, and biscuits. The bottled still water was in an aesthetically pleasing canned form.
🌟 There’s an Elemis sleep kit on the bedside: temple balm/sleep mist/eye cream, placed over a hotel postcard, looking quite exquisite.
The bed was very comfortable.
❌ However, there were a few drawbacks to this place… a bit unnerving… I’m not sure if I just had bad luck. The hotel corridors were somewhat confusing, and I accidentally opened the wrong room door once using my own room card. Strangely, the next day around ten o’clock, while I was in the bathroom and my son was on the bed, despite securing the latch on our door, someone managed to open it slightly, presumably seeing my son on the bed, and then closed the door. Perhaps it was a housekeeping staff member wanting to clean the room? Regardless, it felt quite odd… a little unsettling, to be honest

MMark HinchcliffeGreat location for the centre of Bath, right next to Waitrose as well. Handy to nip back and forth to, during the day. Good bed, decent bathroom, although was expecting a higher level of cleanliness. Flush not strong enough on the toilet. If you can get a view onto the canal side it's a bonus. Good breakfast, good range of options, friendly staff. The one lift isn't great and is slow to come down to ground floor - we ended up walking down via the stairs most of the time. Just about ok price-wise, especially considering it is a stone's throw from the centre.

UUtente ospiteThe room was bigger than expected and for the most part clean, (the bin in the bathroom was under sink and the lid was filthy).
We ordered the charcuterie and local cheese board for 2 and a large baked camembert for 2 as starters.
Before I continue I thought I had made an appointment to discuss the matter with the manager prior to leaving, with Darren the night before leaving as an info board said if you can't score us 10 tell us how we can improve, which wasn't the case as it turned out.
Nothing identified the cheese as local and I don't think it was, there were 4 pieces of silver skin pickled onions as an accompaniment, no grapes or crudités, also the 'charcuterie' seemed to be prepacked from one of the larger supermarkets, with six crackers and no butter for either, between 2 people. Futhermore you are only allowed 2 slices of bread for the large camembert.
I then had the lamb shank with butter mash and sautéed vegetables, all of which was completely inedible, the skin on the lamb was grey and the meat solid lumps of solid black that smelt and tasted bad, the mash and gravy was a messy greasy slop and the sautéed vegetables just soft greasy cold inedible stuff.
My partner had butter chicken, which was ok, however the accompanying salad so vinegary as to be inedible.
The current owners have been there a year unyet the only info you can get on parking suggests £10pd although in fact it is £15, given the room prices it makes it extortionate.
There are no ashtrays in a very tatty garden, which no-one seems to clear up.
The paid breakfast with booking is not a buffet, not is the continental breakfast, which does have a very limited selection buffet style, like any continental breakfast I have had in similarly price hotels, there being no meats or cheeses.
I was not offered an itemised bill at checkout, appalling service.
I cannot recommend these premises at all for the manner it is advertised.

MMichael - happy visitorWhat a lovely hotel !! For the price I paid I was very impressed with the hotel and the service. Very clean, plenty of staff. Room spotless and new and bright. Shower marvelous, as was breakfast. They kept my bag for me so I could have a wander around before my train home. Superb. Will definitely stay again. Bath was beautiful in sunset.

Purtroppo non abbiamo potuto provare il ristorante, perché era chiuso per il giorno del Padre.La nostra stanza era buona, e aveva una grande bagno con doccia e bagno separato. La camera era confortevole e ben attrezzata con te, tavolo di ferro e asciugacapelli. A causa dell'età dell'edificio, c'era un sacco di rumore da parte di residenti che camminavano nelle stanze sopra le nostre, ma non era troppo ostruttivo.Il colazione era molto buona con una scelta di inglese o continentale completo e la mia allergia al glutine era curata. Se dovete rimanere a Bridgewater, allora consiglierei The Old Vicarage, ma probabilmente ci guarderemo nei villaggi più lontano dalla città in futuro.

UUtente ospiteHo prenotato una camera doppia deluxe per una sola notte. Eravamo molto felici con la nostra camera, che era spaziosa, pulita e ben progettata. Il letto era molto comodo come le mutande.
La ricezione è stata calda e amichevole.
Il parcheggio è disponibile all'hotel, ma questo è gestito da NCP e costa meno di £10 per un soggiorno di 24 ore. Il pagamento è tramite un APP, quindi suggerisco di installarlo sul telefono prima che arrivate. Non c'è opzione di pagare con carta o contante alla macchina.
L'hotel stesso è molto affascinante, con camere da letto decorate individualmente e una serie di caratteristiche e mobili nelle camere pubbliche. Abbiamo incontrato mio figlio per cena in un ristorante vicino per cena, quindi non possiamo commentare la sala da pranzo e abbiamo scelto di colazione mentre avevamo organizzato un pranzo precoce. Ci sono stati alcuni cocktail a Brazz, dove si apprezzava il servizio e la qualità delle bevande.

Bridgewater è una città piacevole con molti posti dove divertirsi e passare il tempo. L'hotel è perfettamente pulito, le camere sono molto belle con un'eccellente aria condizionata se ne hai bisogno! Letti comodi, tutti i comfort tra cui TV Samsung, prese USB accanto ai letti, illuminazione ambientale, spazio per riporre gli oggetti ben pensato, piccolo frigorifero, servizio in camera, bagni favolosi con doccia a cascata e deliziosi extra come un discreto lavaggio della doccia e dei capelli, trucco/ specchio da barba con illuminazione. Hotel molto sicuro con reception aperta 24 ore su 24 e ascensore utilizzabile solo con chiavi magnetiche.
Non ho provato il ristorante dell'hotel ma, a giudicare dal volume di persone che mangiano lì, presumo che sia molto buono!

UUtente ospitePositivi - eccellente ricevitore (Vipin) e senza il suo aiuto avrei probabilmente controllato presto. Ha parcheggio. Situazione ragionevole e accesso al centro di Bath. Ha una caldaia elettrica e un pacchetto di cookie.
Non così positiva - In una desperata necessità di aggiornamento, di sfogliare pavimenti, lavare il bagno fuori dal bagno. Non è per i viaggiatori che lavorano perché non si può nemmeno utilizzare un ferro senza spostare l'intero interruttore principale dell'edificio e una volta che ciò accade non c'è una ricezione attiva 24 ore. Il monitor di computer piccolo usato come un televisore di spostamento che è necessario tirare fuori dal cassetto. Nessun acqua potabile in camera. Valore per i soldi non ci sono così tanti migliori posti disponibili allo stesso prezzo o meno.

MMarilyn QI had a fantastic stay at this 4-star hotel! The receptions were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the start. My room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with modern amenities, and the bed was super comfortable.
The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of delicious options I enjoyed the hotel’s historical building.The location is convenient for exploring the city, making it a perfect choice for both business and leisure travelers.
Overall, a wonderful experience—I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again!
