JJohn SalinskyThe Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful as far as they could be. On the first day of our stay ( Christmas Day) there were parties going on and we had to go up several flights of stairs to get to the breakfast buffet. Everything was a little hard to find but the food was good when available. The ample grounds were an additional attraction as were the huge trees in the spacious garden.
On Christmas Day there were lots of staff looking after the various parties.On the last day, however, ther was only one poor unfortunate waiter in attendance! He did his best but it was impossible for him to keep the buffet food items fully refreshed. He had to do this as well as clearing plates etc from tables. We thought that the lack of any other waiting staff was due to the unavailability of staff from the European Union.
The bedroom facilities needed repairs which were unattended to. In particular, the control knob of the central heating radiator had fallen off and could not be replaced. The radiator was on night and day and also made an irritating noise through most of the night.
We stayed three nights in the hotel from 24th to 27th December 2023.
IN summary, we thought that the hotel could be restored to it's original splendour but would need a substantial investment to improve its standard.
The once magnificent hotel seemed sadly neglected because of lack of investment.
Otherwise the room was satisfactory. But sleep was difficult until we got more used to the noise at night.
In summary, we thought that the hotel needed a lot of money spending on it to improve the facilities and make dure there were enough staff.

PPaulBHayesThe Ibis styles is a quirky funky hotel situated around 2 miles from the centre of Barnsley, this is about £4-£6 in a ride share or taxi service.
Upon arriving I was met by some super friendly reception staff who quickly checked me in, even managed to get me in an accessible room having noticed I was on a mobility scooter, much appreciated for the shower in the morning.
On top of this they advised on local food delivery options and allowed me to eat it in the bar area! Such a kind and accommodating gesture as it was 11pm by this point.
The Rooms are spotlessly clean as pictured, spacious with big windows, all the usual in room stuff you would expect and a nice sized tv too.
The beds themselves the “sweetbedz” super comfortable overall, a bit firm for my personal preference but much better than most hotels around the ibis average price.
Can’t wait for the opportunity to stay again soon.
The breakfast I believe was the express option, the staff where great and assisted me, one plate i found to be plenty and was a tasty way to start the day.

RRyan WindsorRobin, sul ricevimento, era molto professionale e amichevole, e mi ha dato un caloroso benvenuto e una grande prima impressione.
L'hotel, direttamente collegato al Giardino d'Inverno, ha una grande posizione centrale e si trova a meno di dieci minuti a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria (che è accessibile a tutti i sedie a rotelle e bagagli).

UUtente ospiteThe hotel was not easy to find but the staff did assist us promptly. There was an issue up with the accommodation, upon reporting this our accommodation was upgraded immediately. There stay was good. The food was excellent. The only thing I will say is that the cleanliness of some of the rooms, need to be addressed and also the maintence needs to be addressed also.

WWeiNice and clean big room for a couple. In particular, I found the bedsheets, toilet and carpet nice and clean. Good central location. It was also the first time in my many travels I found a heated towel rail in the shower room/toilet that actually worked, meaning for the days we stayed there our towels stayed dry.
Lots of parking spaces at the front and back of the building at £9 per day. I also quite liked the traditional building style, including stairs inside - definitely different from many cheap modern hotel buildings relying on cheap lifts.
Finally, the receptionists at the reception were all excellent - professional and friendly and very helpful in meeting our needs, such as providing extra tea bags and milk and information on walking around the area.
Happy to recommend and stay there again.

PPeiThe hotel was clean and well-maintained, with all the basic amenities I needed for a business trip. The location is convenient, close to the city center and transport links. Staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay. Facilities were good, though nothing exceptional. Didn’t try the food, so can’t comment on that.

UUtente ospiteAbbiamo soggiornato nel marzo 2024 avevamo una buona esperienza, ma questa visita la scorsa settimana 11 maggio 24 era molto deludente trovammo la stanza sporca con insetti che scorrevano sotto il letto, abbiamo chiesto di cambiare la stanza che abbiamo fatto, ma trovammo lo stesso problema che io sottolineato al ricevitore notturno, si è arrivo con una terza stanza pulita felicemente a mezzanotte, ora molto stanco abbiamo dormito bene e parlato alla ricezione al check out chi ci ha offerto un complimentare colazione che era bello ma non ti fa voler tornare di nuovo se le camere sono presentate a voi così sporca vedi le foto che ho scritto al manager dell'hotel il 13 maggio ma non ho ancora ricevuto risposta

AAirborn63The hotel is near the Thorne North station and the M62 motorway. A pub with car park is part of the establishment and provide breakfast, warm meals and drink. Next to the hotel is a retail park with Aldi, KFC and other stores. Thorne itself is 15 min walk.
The rooms are simple but effective and there is no staff on side. Kettle, coffee and tea supplied. Bathroom with bath and shower. Iron in corridor.
I stayed few times as it is convenient for my needs and reasonable priced. 15% discount on meals for guests.

UUtente ospiteOverall nice hotel, good sized room, nice and modern. Big comfortable bed. Only faults was there was a load of ladybirds in the bathroom, looks like there was some form of infestation. Only noticed this in the morning and reported it to the front desk when checked out. The bathroom door is also frosted with the window leaking through so was quite bright in the morning, think this might have just been my room though with it being on the end.
It was great location for a wedding I attended at Hooton Pagnall Hall - only 10 mins away so great location for what I needed. Staff were friendly. Would recommend
