Il servizio complessivo dell'hotel è molto soddisfacente, la decorazione dell'hotel è molto attenta e l'atteggiamento del personale è molto buono, che ci fa sentire come un ospite.La posizione dell'hotel è grande come il centro della città antica, ovunque è molto conveniente. Sono arrivato all'antica città di Pingyao in treno e il personale dell'hotel è venuto a prendermi alla stazione. L'hotel dista circa 20 minuti di auto dalla stazione. L'architettura dell'hotel è tradizionale, con un grazioso edificio a due piani costruito attorno a un cortile. Le camere sono spaziose e includono un soggiorno, che offre ampio spazio per sistemare i bagagli e sorseggiare un tè. Shampoo, balsamo e sapone per il corpo sono forniti per il vostro comfort. La posizione dell'hotel nel centro della città antica rende facile raggiungere a piedi diverse attrazioni turistiche. Se siete stanchi, potete tornare in hotel per riposarvi, poi uscire per un tè, un pasto o un massaggio. È anche comodo per esplorare la città quasi deserta la mattina presto. La colazione qui non è a buffet, ma a menù fisso, ma la varietà è ampia e deliziosa. Personalmente, è stato uno dei pasti migliori che abbia mai fatto durante questo viaggio (Pingyao, Dunhuang e Xi'an).

Wow, I loved this homestay! The lively and kind lady who runs Yishui homestay is a good English speaker and very patient, so foreigners as well as Chinese will feel at ease staying here. It is a very hospitable atmosphere! Location is in the pedestrianized part of the old city, very near the Drum Tower. Therefore, there is lots to see/do/eat while walking nearby. But the location is also not far from the driving road, so it was an easy, short walk to meet my driver when going out to the hanging temple, the grottos, and the train station. The facility is an old-style courtyard home, with a beautiful wood-beam ceiling. The interior rooms are completely renovated and modernized, with great water pressure, all necessary toiletries, an excellent quality hair dryer, slippers, and super air-con/heating! (It was -3 one night during my stay, but I was warm and comfy in that room!) Clean towels are brought daily. Breakfast was included in my stay and I was very happy with the food. It is an ample Chinese-style breakfast, and you can inform the cook if there is some food you don't/can't eat. Although the breakfast was plenty of food for me, I saw a guest ask for more baozi, and he was kindly given 2 more. Fresh fruit was also offered for free several times during my stay. Within a 5 minute radius (walking), there are many eating places for lunch, dinner, snacks, and tea/coffee. There are also numerous historical sites (dragon wall, temples, ”mansions”, the Catholic Church, etc.) in easy walking distance. In fact, there was so much to see nearby that I was not able to see everything! The homestay looks very charming, and many, many people were often seen stopping to take photos in front of the homestay, as well as on the back wall of the homestay, which is next to a Chinese Opera stage--it is especially lovely at night! It is a 10-15 minute walk to the ancient city wall, where you can climb up and enjoy the sights, or visit a (Chinese) bookstore within the city wall, under one of the arches. My Beijing friends, who stayed at a nearby hotel, were equally impressed when they came to visit me in Yishui homestay, and they got the WeChat contact so that they can return to stay at Yishui homestay on a return trip--so easy to get there by fast train from Beijing!

The Yunzhong Chaoran Pavilion was newly renovated just prior to our stay in January 2026. The whole building is spotless, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The staff make an effort to understand you, and are adept at using translation apps when conversation breaks down. They have a “Xiao Du” feature , similar to the American “Alexa”, where you can ask it to turn lights off and on, as well as to open and close the curtains . The receptionist patiently helped me to learn how to use it - and frankly , it was great practice for my pronunciation of Mandarin. Finding the hotel is as challenging as any other located where vehicles are not permitted to enter. We were fortunate to have a taxi driver who helped us figure out where the hotel was, and then walked us there. Datong is not yet well known as a tourist destination. However, it is a reasonably close drive to the Hanging Temple and the Grottoes, as well as the Wooden Pagoda. There is plenty to see within walking distance. The city space around the hotel is under construction- I expect it will become a lot more popular in the next two years.

Il servizio fornito dal personale era di prima classe. La varietà del colazione era anche favolosa. Nel complesso non sono molto soddisfatto. L'hotel è piuttosto vecchio e ci sono solo quattro ascensori in totale. Ho dovuto aspettare a lungo perché c'era un gruppo turistico che faceva il check-in. La signorina alla reception che mi ha assistito durante il check-in è stata gentile, ma quando sono tornato più tardi con altre domande, c'era una signora con un viso un po' paffuto che era piuttosto scortese. Anche la colazione era molto nella media e c'erano troppe persone. All'ingresso c'era solo qualcuno che ti faceva entrare, ma nessuno gestiva la situazione, quindi quando c'erano molte persone, dovevi solo aspettare e lottare per un posto.

È un hotel molto pulito e premuroso. L'ambiente dell'alloggio è tranquillo e la stanza è abbastanza grande. Soprattutto il letto. I bambini amano particolarmente rotolarsi sopra. È molto confortevole. La stanza ha tutti i tipi di frutta, snack, tè e bevande gratis, il che è molto premuroso. Ci sono opzioni per la colazione cinese e occidentale, puoi ordinarle in base alle tue preferenze e sono tutte appena preparate, fresche e calde!
