AAndreiI noticed that many reviews mention the hotel not living up to a five-star standard. However, no one seems to complain that the price doesn’t match a five-star level either. In my opinion, this is an excellent hotel for the price.
The property is spacious, the rooms are fresh and cleaned daily, and amenities like slippers and bathrobes are provided. The staff is welcoming, and the breakfast offers a great variety. From 4 to 5 PM, there’s a complimentary tea and pastries service, which is a lovely touch. The beach is beautiful, with plenty of loungers equipped with soft cushions.
This is definitely a place I would consider returning to.

UUtente ospiteAmazing staff and truly exceptional service. Both G. and M. were always present, attentive, and genuinely supportive throughout our stay. They helped with meals and were always available whenever we needed assistance. Their hospitality made a real difference, and we are truly grateful to have met them and spent a few days in what feels like a hidden paradise.
The location is beautiful—a peaceful beachfront property in a quiet, uncrowded area with plenty to do nearby. It’s about a 45-minute drive from Diani Airport, so having a car is highly recommended. Make sure to follow the Tiwi Beach exit rather than relying on the GPS coordinates to reach the property. It is also advisable to buy supplies, including drinking water, before arriving at the facility.
The penthouse itself has incredible potential and offers stunning views, but unfortunately it is not well maintained and still requires significant work. Basic structural improvements are needed, including proper ceiling finishing, fencing, and treatment of the wooden furniture due to visible infestation.
Another issue is that there are many open gaps and spaces around the penthouse structure, which allow insects and even cats to enter the room. This significantly affects comfort and hygiene and should be addressed with proper sealing and screening.
Overall, the staff and location are fantastic, but the penthouse urgently needs proper maintenance and finishing to match the beauty of the setting.

L'unica cosa che è molto irritante è il perpetuo locale che cerca di vendere qualcosa per un prezzo del 100%. Decisero di andare a piedi sull'isola e si rendevano conto che erano andati senza scarpe. I ”vendenti di beni” locali ci hanno salvati con le loro scarpe, ma il prezzo di 3 persone è salito fino a 9.000 Kes, che è paragonabile al costo di un motociclista che ci porterà in un luogo dove ci sono molti pesci, stelle marine, e altri abitanti del mare.

MMathNerdSwahili Beach Resort is a great all inclusive resort in Diani Beach in Kenya. It's perfect as a base for staying in the area, with everything you need included. The rooms are spacious, the staff are incredible (and I mean incredible - nothing is too much trouble for them, they are so polite and will really go to great lengths to help you).
The only issue is that if the resort puts you in a room that is different to what you've booked (in our case, we booked a Standard room and we got given a Superior room), it can be difficult for them to find your reservation in their backend systems.
So ensure you go in with printed proof of your reservation and payment, and eventually it will all get sorted.
Otherwise, it's amazing, the Dawa drinks are top notch and the rooms are spacious and inviting.

UUtente anonimoEverything was great with this hotel, from the view to the service. The beach is very beautiful and clean. There are quite a few of beach boys on the beach waiting to sell things to you. However if you tell them politely you’re not interested, they’ll leave you alone.
It’s very close to Ukunda airport, only 10min drive.
One major thing this resort needs to improve is the foods. The foods are no where close to a 5 star resort standard. They’re normal than normal. Limited varieties. This was the most disappointing part. However because of the superb view and services, I was able to enjoy the trip! Will definitely go back and hope the foods are good by then.

AAmyLCQuesta è la nostra quarta visita al Papillon. Il personale è fantastico. Il team di animazione è pieno di energia, l'aerobica in acqua è impareggiabile. Tutti sono sempre impegnati a lavorare, dai giardinieri alle governanti, fino agli addetti alla piscina. Joseph e Raphael al bar sono stati eccellenti come sempre. Abdullah, l'addetto alla piscina, è sempre a disposizione con gli asciugamani e mantiene la piscina pulita. Le camere sono sempre pulitissime, con biancheria pulita e acqua in bottiglia ogni giorno. Ora le camere sono dotate di frigorifero e bollitore (ma è necessario portare le proprie bustine di tè, ecc.). Il cibo e le bevande sono ottimi, con un'ampia scelta. La spiaggia è meravigliosa, con sabbia bianca. Adoro questo hotel e lo consiglio ad altri.

NNayomiKOur stay at Boxo was amazing. The staff the environment the food was a 10/10. We arrived late afternoon and were met by the lovely Harriet who gave us a nice little tour of the hotel. She was absolutely amazing and made us feel super welcome when we arrived. Our stay here was comfortable and the rooms have air conditioning which is a need in HOT Diani so that came as a welcome amenity. We ate at Boxo’s restaurant and the food was delicious. The cleanliness of the place was also really appreciated.Overall experience was amazing.I would recommend this place if you are in Diani.We stayed on February 8th 2026.
