Hotel a 3 stelle in Powys, Regno Unito

Quando si prenota pub/hotel nel paese non si aspetta 5* servizio, si aspetta di vivere la vita locale. Il pub ha avuto una certa abbondanza di questo, e abbiamo avuto molto divertimento. Il cibo non era cattivo e la cascata è stata eccellente. La stanza era piccola ma poi pulita. La questione per me era il calore. Anche se il tempo era freddo n vapore la stanza era calda - in parte a causa delle tubature sottostanti. Ho dovuto aprire la finestra e cercare di inclinarsi contro il muro per mantenere freddo. Sono andato a colazione prima di lasciare il mio partner a dormire. Il colazione era un buffet freddo (solo i fine settimana di colazione cotta) e era perfettamente buono. La signora al colazione ha continuato a parlare e mi ha costantemente spinto a trascinare il mio partner. Eravamo gli unici residenti, quindi non ho visto l'urgenza. Dopo colazione la stessa signora stava colpendo la porta della stanza per dirci che avremmo dovuto aver lasciato la stanza a 10. Quanto è presto! Il risultato è che abbiamo dovuto pagare 25 sterline come tassa di checkout tardiva. Lasciandoci è con il sentimento che non siamo stati ospiti solo un inconveniente.

Molto deluso, la nostra camera necessitava di manutenzione, arredamento e decorazioni. Ad esempio, il lavandino era privo di tappo, mancavano i ganci per appendere gli asciugamani, e l'arredo del bagno era gravemente danneggiato dall'umidità, al punto da marcire. La vernice si era scrostata dalle pareti, porte e battiscopa dipinti apparivano sporchi. Non c'era un posto dove riporre i bagagli e l'arredamento in dotazione era in cattive condizioni. La camera era di buone dimensioni, con soffitti alti e un divano, letti comodi con lenzuola pulite. La piscina era di buone dimensioni, ma la vasca idromassaggio non era dotata di corrente elettrica.

The B&B is near the centre of Brecon, within easy walking distance of everything in town. Our room was small but comfortable and well equipped. There wasn't much storage space in the room. Our room was at the front of the B&B, on the main road, so it was too noisy to sleep with the window open. Not so good during a heatwave! Breakfast was good. We had a cooked breakfast the 1st morning and pancakes for the 2nd. Generous portions in both cases. There's parking available in the courtyard but it's a squeeze to get in. Larger cars will struggle and may not fit.

It was a very pleasant hotel, nice and quiet when I visited but it is the beginning of the year, didn't see anyone after checking in, amenities were nice and the room was very comfortable and clean. Location is not too far from Brecon, but best drive as it's around 12 miles. Breakfast was good, just help yourself to bits that are there. I would visit again.

Arrived a little late but everything was prepared waiting for us. The room was small but well-equipped and clean. The bar staff in the evening were good but closed very much at 11. Breakfast was freshly prepared and hot. The hotel is right in the centre of town so a great base for a wander around.

Very nice hotel in a historical building in the center of town. Dinner and breakfast were excellent.
