The rooms (just regular guests rooms, not even the premium ones) were very spacious and comfortable given their price. The warm atmosphere was very healing and I loved being able to bathe in hot springs after a tiring day of snowsports!
Although the hotel seemed quiet from the outside, we saw many guests staying inside and it was a pretty lively atmosphere, which is something I like.
The landscape is quite lovely too. Although there was little natural snow, the slopes were still fine to ski on due to their artificial snow machines. The slopes were very beginner-friendly as well, however, as they get more frequently used through the day, they tend to become really icy and difficult to ski on.
Overall, I had a great time! It was a shame that there wasn’t snowy weather to match.

Good location, train station is just opposite.
Nearby also have many F&B.
Cleanliness is good.
Room is not very spacious, it makes me think of Shinjuku Washington Hotel size.
But service is very good, more friendly, and they help us to move the luggage up to our room straight after our bag hv transfer via luggage transfer service.
So when we reach hotel, we just need to check in and go up straight.
There's washing machine and dryer provided with fee, however is a small one.
The lobby is very nice and comfortable.
Will consider to stay here again if I visiting Nagano.

La stanza era piccola e semplice, ma molto confortevole. Faceva un po' freddo, quindi ho chiesto una coperta alla reception, che mi ha scaldato molto di più. Ci sono molti posti divertenti nelle vicinanze, ma non ho avuto abbastanza tempo per esplorarli tutti prima di partire, il che è un po' un peccato. La prossima volta, dedicherò sicuramente più tempo a Nagano.

Abbiamo avuto una grande esperienza di soggiorno nel Twin Line Resort. Il personale era così accogliente. La colazione era buona e avete 4 set da scegliere. Apprezziamo le strutture come i sali da bagno liberi e bevande e nibbles anche il noleggio biciclette libero. Ottimo valore per i vostri soldi.

La posizione era conveniente e Karuizawa è una bella città. Il colazione era buono. pane fresco e succo ecc.
Il pasto di pote caldo includeva tagli di pasto come bacon non molto adatto per shabu shabu) e il pote usato era piccolo per il nostro gruppo, dovevamo fare turni per cucinare cibo.

The hotel is nice, from the station about 10 minutes walk almost in a straight line, wake up. The room was originally wrong, it was reserved for smokers, even though we don't smoke, the room was given the appropriate one, the smell in it was just not very good, like for those who don't smoke at all, it started already on the floor.But the staff, fortunately, were able to find us a replacement for a non-smoking room, yes, less, yes one big bed instead of two, but with stunning mountain views and a coffee machine. The breakfast at the hotel is just as great, the cuisine is Japanese, diverse, there are many drinks, including fresh juices, many desserts.

Fantastico soggiorno, estremamente utile e personale gentile.
La posizione migliore, collegata alla stazione Nagano attraverso il passaggio, quindi non c'è bisogno di attraversare la strada, super comodo.La nostra stanza era un po' piccola, 15 qm, e una grande valigia, era un po' crampi.
Sicuramente rimarrebbe qui, ma prenoterò una stanza più grande. Arigato Sotetsu Nagano 🙂

Отель выглядит старым и не очень примечателен с улицы. Но японцы ооочень хорошо убираются и там крайне чисто. Конечно же расположение крайне удобно (в соседнем здании классный рамен). Также есть раритетная техника, например кран с двумя вентилями или старенький телевизор - аутентично. Из минусов - не удалось включить кондиционер на охлаждение, только на отопление.

Excellent location just in front of Nagano JR station, there are many good restaurants around. we arrived on weekend and the road to hotel car park is closed for vehicles. We had to park our rental car at nearby carpark 3 mins walk away from hotel, and and the parking fee is JPY1000 / entry.

ZZhennan Maia good hotel with view of the snowy mountain. even though we arrived late that night, friendly staff keep out room ready and the bath tube full of hot spring water.
nice breakfast as well, the 2nd morning all cars covered with snow, they have tools to help clean your windows before you go. added value.

Onsen e palestra sono disponibili anche. asciugatrice per attrezzature sci e stanza da gioco per bambini. servizio è stato molto responsivo e parla inglese La posizione è vicina al centro sciistico, ma molto lontana da qualsiasi altra cosa se non guidate. Il loro autobus per la stazione ferroviaria opera solo 3 volte al giorno al mattino e al pomeriggio. e ci sono solo 2 cibo Ristorante a meno che non si cabini fuori. niente di molto da fare in serata e notte. cibo decente e ambiente. le opzioni per colazione sono le stesse quotidiane ma la varietà era ok.

UUtente ospiteI stayed at this hotel with my wife and two children during a two-night trip to Karuizawa in early February. The hotel is around 100 years old and its claim to fame is that John Lennon has stayed there. The piano that he played on is still in the bar.
Location: The hotel is near Old Ginza Street and around a 15-minutes drive from Karuizawa station. It was not difficult to find, but you must navigate a narrow approach to the hotel which is icy at this time of the year, so you must drive carefully.
Cleaniness: The staff told me that the hotel was only recently and everything was very clean and in good condition.
Service: The receptionist that conducted the check-in was probably the Japanese that spoke the best English that I had encountered on this trip. He spent a lot of time explaining the hotel to our family. The porter was also very helpful and polite. When we asked for extra toothbrushes and slippers for the children, housekeeping was very prompt in delivering them and even brought some children's robes for my sons.
Facilities: The hotel did not have many facilities. There is a small shop, a bar and a french restaurant but not much else. Some rooms had private hot springs in them and they gave us the opportunity to upgrade. Our room, had a small balcony even though we were on the ground floor. It looked onto a wooded area so there was not much to see, especially at night. However, when it snowed the next morning, my kids loved going out and playing in the snow. I was particularly impressed by the breakfast. It was a simple American breakfast very well presented. It was very pleasurable to look out into the inner courtyard with it was snowing.
Overall: I like this hotel as it has a lot of character. It is architecturally attractive and has kept a lot of its charm despite renovation. The staff are very professional and polite. I would stay in this hotel again.

OO.K. MACI’ve stayed at many ryokans throughout my travels—often making up half of each trip—but this one felt a bit different.
It seemed to be run by just one person, who I assume is the owner. Everything was self-service, which might be understandable considering it was the most affordable option among the ryokans in the area.
Most amenities required an extra fee, such as towels. Payment was made by dropping coins into a basket and making your own change, which wasn’t very convenient—especially since I didn’t carry much cash.
One thing I appreciated was the luggage delivery service. I was able to leave my bag at the lobby before check-out and have it sent to Toyama Station (for about 4,000 JPY, cash only).
What stood out was the creativity in the shared spaces. There were several common rooms designed for relaxing and spending time—perfect if you’re traveling with friends. You could play ping pong, read books, watch TV, or use the canteen, which had a microwave and dishes available.
They even had coin-operated massage chairs and a small fitness room.
However, I must mention two important downsides:
1. Limited nearby dining options – Many restaurants shown as open on Google Maps were actually closed. The only one that was open had extremely slow service—I waited nearly an hour for dinner.
2. Insects—large ones – Unfortunately, I encountered big insects in my room, which made it hard to sleep. (He even provided insect-catch tape for me while introduce the room) I stayed awake most of the night, worrying it might come back—especially stressful since I had to get up early the next morning to catch a bus to Ogizawa.
Minds you, stairs only, need to carry your luggage down by yourself.
Overall, while it offers good value for the area and has unique communal features, this ryokan may not suit travelers who prefer full service, cashless payment, or guaranteed comfort.

La sorgente termale di Yudanaka è relativamente vicina a Jigokudani Monuen, a 20 minuti a piedi dalla stazione. Va notato che puoi prendere la stazione prima delle 17:00. Siamo arrivati alle 17:30, ma il capo ha detto che non potevamo ritirare . Anche se la distanza non è lunga, ci vuole comunque un po' di tempo per camminare sulla strada di montagna. Puoi anche prendere un autobus che passa ogni mezz'ora.
⭐Servizio:
Ci sono due negozianti che ti servono e il loro atteggiamento è molto buono. Ti aiuteranno a consegnare i tuoi bagagli al bar vicino alla stazione quando viaggerai il giorno successivo. Da notare che se fai il check-in dopo le 15 non potrai telefonare la mattina. Ho lasciato qualcosa in camera Dopo tre chiamate non ha risposto nessuno il negozio per riprenderlo.
⭐Servizi:
La disposizione delle camere è relativamente semplice e le strutture sono relativamente semplici. A dire il vero, il riscaldamento è relativamente piccolo e fa un po' freddo di notte. Non c'è né doccia né WC e il lavandino ha solo acqua fredda. Le docce e le sorgenti termali devono essere pagate a parte, 500 yen. I bagni pubblici (tutti i piccoli hotel in stile giapponese sono così) sono molto puliti, perché ci sono poche stanze e pochi ospiti, e non hai mai toccato nessun altro nel bagno. . In ogni caso il rapporto prezzo/prestazioni è abbastanza buono.
⭐Pasti:
Il nostro ordine includeva cena e colazione, ma le porzioni erano piccole e non sufficienti a saziarci. Assicurati di comprare del cibo da Lawson quando esci dalla stazione. Non ci sono minimarket nella strada delle sorgenti termali! L'acqua minerale non viene fornita ed è previsto un costo aggiuntivo di +100 yen.
⭐Sorgente termale:
Puoi immergerti in 9 zuppe per strada, ma c'è solo una chiave, quindi devi andarci separatamente. La zuppa privata nel negozio si trova in B1. È relativamente semplice, ha molta umidità e non è molto pulita. Si consiglia di andare alla zuppa pubblica. Anche se il capo ha detto che non c'è posto per fare il bagno nel bagno pubblico, quindi puoi comprare solo un bagno privato con doccia, il che è un po' imbarazzante.

UUtente ospiteWe spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a ”cold” atmosphere.
I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience.
The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery.
The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge.
Was
I would go back to Prince Asama and experience the scenery during a different season!

Note: restaurant is by reservation only. Dinner snow crab dinner is worth the price. Open bar. Also cash only needed do the hotel tax due at arrival.
