Everything from my arrival to Shangri-la, to the point of checking in, arranging transport for my itinerary, checking out, ferrying me to the train station, just one word - Impeccable.
Customer service is outstanding, their interiors are beautifully designed, and complements well with the architecture of the building as well as the greater plains of Napa sea.
They have a myriad of farm and domesticated animals which are incredibly docile, well tempered, and playful so you can tell they are well treated in here.
I was at first skeptical of booking this as it's a little expensive and as a solo traveler, i'm incredibly easygoing. However, the standard of service, the majestic morning scenery, cute companions, complimentary evening desserts and hot milk, made everything worth the penny. I even got a free upgrade of my room because they said my original booking had no views 😂, and I was incredibly grateful for the complimentary upgrade.
I'm a heavy eater so the light hearty breakfast wasn't exactly to my liking (but I could use some healthy balance once in a while 🤣) To each of their own.
The staffs went out of their way to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible, in which I commend them for it.
I will definitely be coming back to Shangri-la in the near future and will not be considering any other accommodation except for theirs!

I had the most incredible stay at Shangri-la Runjing Muqi B&B. The moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a serene atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The property is beautifully designed, blending traditional aesthetics with modern comforts, offering a perfect retreat from the hustle of daily life.
The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully decorated, reflecting the local charm of Shangri-la. The attention to detail was remarkable—from the soft linens to the carefully curated amenities that added a touch of luxury to my stay.
What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by the owner of the inn. She was incredibly kind and accommodating, even offering to pick me up from the train station and drop me off when I left, which was a huge help as the B&B is located about 25 minutes from the town and getting a Didi can be a bit challenging in the area.
The inn doesn’t have elevators, only a staircase, but the staff were so attentive—they carried my luggage up and down for me, ensuring I didn’t have to worry about a thing.
The location is perfect for exploring the serene beauty of Shangri-la. Nearby attractions include Potatso National Park, Songzanlin Monastery, and Dukezong Ancient Town, as well as a nearby horse ranch, where you can dress in traditional ******* costumes and ride across the scenic grasslands.
The on-site breakfast was delicious, with fresh, locally sourced options that made each morning a delight.
Overall, Shangri-la Runjing Muqi B&B offers an unforgettable experience. It’s a peaceful retreat with exceptional service, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to explore the wonders of Shangri-la. I can’t wait to return!

The accommodation was easily the best one we've stayed in. The staff's service was impeccable. Not only do they provide breakfast and supper, they also provided laundry and transfer services as well. The room was excellent - spacious yet cozy with a romantic view overlooking the meadows that makes us regret staying for just a single night. In addition, the animals (baby goats, dogs, ducks, reindeers, llama etc.) coupled with the photoshoot package made the experience even more worthwhile.

Cominciamo dagli aspetti positivi: è un hotel dall'aspetto gradevole, con un design gradevole e camere belle. Le camere sono ben attrezzate per il comfort, ma io non ne ho avute... Diverse cose non hanno funzionato come avrebbero dovuto: prima di tutto il water era uno di quei water automatici che ora si trovano ovunque negli hotel di fascia media in Cina, ma questo si scaricava sempre non appena ci si avvicinava. E lo scarico era troppo forte, quindi usciva un po' d'acqua, il che è fastidioso se è acqua sporca... Il materasso del letto era riscaldato abbastanza forte (il che non era necessario perché la stanza aveva il riscaldamento a pavimento), quindi abbiamo provato di tutto per spegnerlo senza successo. Abbiamo provato davvero di tutto... Stavamo sudando così tanto che abbiamo persino deciso di rimuovere la carta della stanza dal porta-carta per disattivare tutto... Ma che ci crediate o no, non ha funzionato... un'altra cosa fastidiosa è che la doccia non era separata dal water. Quindi quando fai la doccia, bagni il water e il pavimento tutto intorno al water, quindi ogni volta che vai in bagno ti bagni i piedi, e poi quando cammini con i piedi bagnati sul pavimento della stanza ti sporchi i piedi perché il pavimento della stanza non era perfettamente pulito. A proposito, il pavimento della stanza era anche un po' irregolare, il che sembra essere un effetto del riscaldamento a pavimento che era un po' troppo forte in alcuni punti. Ah, inoltre la TV non funzionava, e si sono offerti di ripararla, ma ho rifiutato.
Tutti questi sono problemi minori, ma preferirei non avere questi ”comfort” extra se non funzionano correttamente.
Per il resto il servizio è stato buono, hanno cercato di essere d'aiuto e l'hotel si trova in un quartiere tranquillo.

I traveled for 11 days and stayed at 4 different hotels. What I want to say is: No need to think twice—just book this hotel! You will never regret it. I highly recommend it, 10/10.
To be honest, this is the most comfortable hotel I stayed in during my time in Yunnan! I’m so grateful that I chose this hotel. I booked two rooms for 3 days and 2 nights, and I wish I could have stayed longer!
The room was incredibly comfortable. The TV had many channels, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Even though the weather outside was -12°C, we didn’t feel cold at all. The room was very warm, the heater worked great, and the toilet had a heater as well. The floors were heated too.
The room looked exactly as advertised—huge, brand new, and super clean! The hotel offers all the basic facilities you need, such as a washing machine and a microwave. But among all the wonderful facilities and rooms, the biggest applause goes to the owner himself!
The owner is extremely kind and helpful. He arranged a day trip for my family to Balagezong, lent us jackets for free, and even helped us with our luggage. He greeted us warmly upon arrival and waited for us so kindly. He also drove us to the railway station for free!
Drinking water (bottled) is unlimited. It was available at the corner, and we could take it for free. I left my glasses in the car we rented for the Balagezong trip. The owner arranged to retrieve them from the driver, had them sent to me by express delivery, and I received them the next day. It was so meaningful to me, as I can’t see without my glasses!
Oh, and if you're Muslim, there is a halal restaurant just two minutes' walk from the hotel. The owner guided us there. There are also many places to eat nearby, including Mixue, and a convenient store. Didi can take you directly to the front of the hotel. It’s very convenient!
I really want to send my heartfelt thanks and kudos to the owner for such wonderful service and kindness. They are doing an excellent job taking care of the hotel. I really loved it, and I hope to visit again someday. Wishing the owner a long, healthy, and prosperous life!

Il B&B appena aperto ha un'atmosfera da cinque stelle! Il capo è fantastico! Quando siamo arrivati nel pomeriggio, il tempo è diventato improvvisamente freddo. Il capo è stato molto premuroso e ha acceso il riscaldamento a pavimento. Dato che eravamo nonni e nipoti, il capo si è preso molta cura di noi e mi ha mandato una deliziosa carne di yak calda ristorante in vaso. Più tardi, mi ha fatto conoscere la fotografia di viaggio, il prezzo è giusto e anche le capacità fotografiche sono fantastiche👍🏻 Quella sera ci hanno dato il tè allo zenzero. A proposito, la colazione è appena preparata ogni mattina e ha il sapore di casa.

Amore questo hotel a Shangri-la!! È stato accolto con il pick-up complimentare dall'aeroporto di Chervelot. Quando arrivato all'hotel, ci sono stati offerti snack e tè, e 3 tipi di scent da scegliere per lo shampoo, condizionatore e sapone. Possiamo anche scegliere tra i pasti cinesi, occidentali e tibetano per la mattina prossima.
La stanza stessa era ben progettata con un moderno contatto con la decorazione tibetana. Ci sono stati 2 ossigenatori per coloro con malattie di altezza. Ci sorprendeva di essere offerti con una zuppa di dessert nutriente e frutta. Come nuovo hotel, le strutture sono in buona condizione.
I manager/personali dell'hotel sono andati sopra e oltre per renderci benvenuti e confortevoli durante il nostro soggiorno.

We recently stayed 4 nights here in November and it was a true 5 star experience from the moment we arrived. Our driver wondered why we chose to stay at a “remote” area but it was so peaceful and and view is breathtaking especially during the golden sunrise hour. Our 2 young kids had so many highlights from feeding the animals to toasting marshmallow and singing karaoke in front of the campfire and under the stars. Shangrila was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Yunan and we look forward to staying here again.

This hotel truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by its cleanliness and the warm, friendly atmosphere created by the staff. The service is nothing short of excellent—they even offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off to the train station, which made our journey so much easier.
The hotel provides everything you need for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The room is spacious, with a big TV screen and a cozy sofa for relaxation. The thoughtful amenities include a heated floor and bed, which were perfect for the cold weather. Even the toilet seat has a heater and a bidet, making it incredibly convenient and comfortable. They also provide additional oxygen in the room—a great touch, especially for those who might feel the effects of high altitude.
The views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking! Imagine waking up to stunning mountain scenery, lush green grasslands, and sheep grazing peacefully—it’s like a dream come true. To make our stay even more special, they upgraded our room for free to one with a luxurious bathtub!
For Muslim travelers, this hotel is incredibly accommodating—they provided us with a delicious vegetarian breakfast, so we felt completely at ease. However, please be mindful when sitting on the sofas as their adorable, friendly dog loves to sit there too and might come to greet you. One of the most delightful surprises was that the hotel provides traditional Chinese costumes for free! We had so much fun dressing up and taking beautiful photos. It made us feel like royalty from an ancient Chinese dynasty—truly a unique and unforgettable experience.
Despite the language barrier, the staff were incredibly helpful in accommodating our needs. They went above and beyond to assist us, offering suggestions, pinpointing locations, and ensuring we had everything we needed. A big thumbs up to the staff member whose picture I shared (unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name). The hotel owner should truly give her credit for her exceptional service—it made our stay even more memorable!
This hotel is located near the stunning Napahai Lake, not Dukezong Ancient City. If you’re planning to stay close to Dukezong, this might not be the best choice. But trust me, you don’t need to stay near Dukezong—this hotel is so good, it’s worth being a little further away. The peaceful surroundings, incredible service, and top-notch amenities make it more than worth it!
Another fantastic perk is the nearby e-bike rental. We rented bikes and had an amazing time exploring the beautiful Napahai area and enjoying the serene countryside.
I highly recommend this hotel, especially for travelers from Malaysia. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and hospitality. Trust me, you won’t regret staying here—it’s a memory you’ll cherish forever!

Il capo è un super buono parlare con il nord-est del tunnel! (Sua figlia è anche molto carina 🥰) Il popolo è molto pulito e igienico, e la stanza è molto grande, completamente al di sopra delle nostre aspettative. UUtente ospiteThis has to be our favorite stay of the entire trip. Location-wise, it is on the outskirts, about a 20-minute drive from Dukezong Ancient Town. It's surrounded by local villagers' farms, offering a view of the hills right from the room, which provided the perfect rest I needed during this holiday. The heated floor is definitely a luxury. The two hosts were friendly and always ready to help. The dogs are absolutely adorable. Breakfast-wise, it was simple but satisfying. It's very close to the famous coffee place, though we didn't stop by. I already miss the views. If you have a car, a hire car, or don't mind taking Didi rides to go in and out of the ancient city, I highly recommend this place.

UUtente ospiteIs very important to choose hotel with oxygen supply and heater floor. I wasn't expect I would got altitude sickness. The guest service staffs and owner are very helpful, to help me with oxygen supply, warm water, and sweets. They are friendly and helpful, warm enough to remember each in house guest.
Room and hotel are clean, neat and new. Location is great, just 10 mins to ancient town and nearby 3 to 5 minutes walk you may found local restaurants and rent for tranditional cloths which super convinience.
I will recommend to my friend and family, and my next visit.

La posizione è nella città antica. Le auto non possono entrare, ma il capo verrà a prenderti. È molto comodo per chi ha bagagli grandi.

I proprietari si sono presi cura di noi: hanno organizzato il trasporto da e per l'aeroporto, ci hanno prelevato in auto dopo l'escursione, ci hanno dato ottimi consigli su come esplorare la zona e, in generale, ci hanno fatto sentire estremamente benvenuti.
La camera era accogliente e confortevole, con una vista incredibile.
La colazione tradizionale ******* era deliziosa, inoltre la mamma ci ha preparato il pranzo gratuitamente l'ultimo giorno.
La guesthouse ha opzioni per la ristorazione, deliziose. Una delle sere ci hanno offerto un barbecue 😊
È molto comoda per le escursioni nella Lower e Middle Gorge e possono organizzare il trasporto per ulteriori visite turistiche.

RRonaNalaThe hotel is located 1 km from the ancient town and is a 10-15 minute drive to the train station.
The room was comfortable, and the water pressure and heater worked perfectly.
The Wi-Fi was very stable as well. (For foreigners, do bear in mind, if you connect to hotel wifi, you would need to connect to VPN in order to use WhatsApp, IG or Youtube)
This is a 9-year-old property, so there are some flaws that can be improved, but that is understandable.
My only feedback is about the F&B restaurant; they only have one all-day dining option. Breakfast was alright, with more of a local selection.
I stayed for two nights. On the first day, there was staff available to help me and serve my cafe latte order. However, on the second day, I did not see any staff on standby, so I had to make my own cafe latte (I had to froth the milk), which I found awkward.
I wish the staff were more well trained, but I understand it is low season and the hotel probably hired part-timers for service.
The best highlight of my stay was meeting a lady named Rose He, who is part of the guest services team (i think). She made recommendations on where to go and even found us a local driver to take us around. She was extremely kind and polite. We exchanged WeChat information, and she texted me when the weather turned cold or rainy. She also helped us to arrange complimentary transportation to the train station. It felt personalized. Shangri-La, if you are reading this, I believe she deserves a token of appreciation. She is the true star and a great example of “hospitality.”

Posso andare al piano superiore per vedere il paesaggio e il giardino. La mia nonna è una stanza. Ho troppe cose da fare. Per me, questo ospite è diventato un punto di attrazione nel mio viaggio.
Quando si ferma in soggiorno, incontriamo occasionalmente altri ospiti.Ci incontreremo, racconteremo le storie dei nostri viaggi e condivideremo il nostro cuore.Se incontriamo ospiti aperti, ci ritroveremo anche nelle nostre città e nelle persone vicine. A questo punto, per me, il viaggio non è più come in passato, ma è un breve passato, che non lascerà tracce. Sono diventati viaggiatori stranieri, nascondono una breve carenza, si sono incontrati tra loro e hanno formato una linea di scambio, e hanno formato un punto di scambio.
