Elp is een plaatsje dat prima gelegen is voor het verkennen van Drenthe. De Koekoekshof is een prima, niet te dure gelegenheid om als basis daarvoor te dienen. Fietsen en motoren kunnen van de weg worden gestald. Heel vriendelijke ontvangst en prima verzorging. Ontbijt was basis maar met enkele plaatselijke toetsjes en mogelijkheid tot bereiding van verse eiergerechten en smoothies. De kamer is schoon en groot genoeg. Het meubilair is lichtelijk gedateerd en de vloerbedekking kan nog net mee. Maar een prima bed en keuze aan kussens (hard of zacht). Goede koffie (en thee) op de kamer. Badkamer is simpel met een douche in het bad. Verlichting is overal goed. Elp is heel rustig en de kamer redelijk geluidsarm dus prima geslapen. Helaas was de kok die avond ziek, maar we werden doorverwezen naar een prima alternatief. Wel een goede bar en een terrasmogelijkheid. Zeer goede prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding dus een aanrader voor als je enkele dagen Drenthe wilt verkennen. Zeker vanwege de eigenaar die één en al vriendelijkheid en attenthied is. Compliment.

De hotelkamer (2e verdieping) was goed. Nieuw hotel en de kamers waren smaakvol ingericht. Ook de gangen met prachtig okergele kleuren. De badkamer was groot met een mooie inloopdouche, maar was erg karig aangekleed. Waar de kamer zo gezellig was, was de badkamer erg kil. De bedden waren echt prima, heerlijk geslapen. Maar de kamers zijn wel gehorig. De ligging is natuurlijk perfect! In het centrum, tegenover de ingang van de dierentuin. Onder het hotel een grote (niet dure) parkeergarage. Wij hebben geen ontbijt genomen, € 16.50 euro per persoon vinden wij echt te duur voor de hoeveelheid dat wij eten.

Hotel bellissimo, molto accogliente. La posizione sul bordo della città era fantastica per la mia solita passeggiata notturna tardiva, il quartiere è molto accogliente e tranquillo. La camera familiare che abbiamo soggiornato era spaziosa e ha fornito abbastanza lusso. Le letti erano confortevoli e il bagno con tubo era pulito e bello. La colazione era deliziosa e il ristorante è davvero bellissimo decorato. Tutto in una splendida esperienza.
