The people at Ock Pop Tok are truly wonderful! Thank you for making our 10-day stay in Luang Prabang so memorable. Your dedication and kindness meant so much to us. Duan, the hotel manager, was always sincere and helpful. Ket from the restaurant greeted us with a warm smile every day, and Ni provided great assistance during our weaving class. Bee, the weaving master, was an excellent teacher—thanks to their guidance, my wife created a beautiful tapestry. We’re also grateful to the tuktuk driver who took us around town, even in the heat. The peaceful moments by the villa, along with the serene flow of Mekong River, were unforgettable . We hope to return soon and are already planning our next trip.

We loved Ock Pop Top. All of the staff were so friendly and made us very welcome. Especially Mr Duan who helped us arrange a slow boat and Mr Noi and Mr Air who gave my partner lots of tips for local fishing. We only stayed 1 night but we will be coming back for sure. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. You can learn a lot about Hmong crafts which is very interesting. The food and drink is delicious, I recommend the tamarind margaritas! The rooms are beautiful and full of eco friendly amenities like mosquito spray, shampoo, soap etc and locally crafted decor. The balcony rooms facing the Mekong are amazing. The location is out of the town centre but they offer a free shuttle service via tuk tuk, you may have to wait a while but you can relax in the bar while you wait. The sunset from the restaurant is amazing but be aware that between 5:30-6:30 the mosquitoes come out in full force! Cover up or bring the spray from your room and keep topping up.

The staff are not helpful and rude. The hotel is far to the downtown when the shuttle bus are not often too. There are some facilities need to be shared, such as fridge and dinning tools in common room. Plus the hotel is next to the craft center, there will be some strangers trespassing to hotel area.

Ock Pop Tok staff made my stay truly pleasurable and magical. The restaurant serves delicious dishes, the hotel offers a free tuktuk to the city and back - truly a life saver. The rooms are spacious and with a designer touch. People are always ready to help and resolve the emerging issues in no time. I had a very pleasant stay. Truly a magical place!

Very very highly recommended! The rooms are thoroughly charming and very comfortable, designed with love, care and great taste. The location on the Mekong is sublime (views are even better here than uptown, especially from the tree house!), the staff is so friendly and helpful, the food delicious, the atmosphere magical. The fact that the villa is part of a creative complex that does so much for the local community (and where you can explore your own creativity!) makes your stay all the more special. I traveled through south-east Asia for 6 months and this was my absolute favourite place to stay.

An amazing experience Located 1 kilometre away from the busy town of Luang Prabang and situated on the banks of the Mekong river within the grounds of the Ock Pok Tok Craft Centre stands The Mekong Villa. Our room painted in bright colors of yellow and blue and decorated with textiles and artifacts from the Craft Center was both comfortable and a little quirky.The views from the balcony over the river and to the jungles and distant mountains were stupendous.A free pink tuk tuk is available to take you to the village at any time between 8.00am and 8. 00pm Breakfast was enjoyed six metres up in the sky in our private tree house. Freshly prepared eggs with those delicious local avocados and cafe latte at its best. Inspite arriving late after the cafe was closed, the staff did not hesitate to offer us dinner with a big smile. Everyone spoke good English , so communicating was not an issue. What of course makes this property stand out is the Craft Center. Started in 2000 by an English lady Jo, her partner Veo and friend Val, they brought from the distant villages the Laotian silk industry. Today one can take a tour of the process - silk worms eating mulberry leaves, spinning the fine threads, dyeing with natural dyes from the garden, setting up the patterns on the looms and finally working the pedal looms and passing the shuttlecock from side to side. A very labour intensive lengthy process but ending with some beautiful fabrics, all of which are displayed in the shop and available for sale.Should you wish you can take a weaving or dyeing course under the watchful guidance of one of the master weavers . Without doubt Ock Pok Tok is a very special experience and together with the Mekong Villa stay should not be missed. It is both charming and unique.

We staied in The Tai Daeng Room for ten nights. The room was clean and had a great view of the Mekong River. The view of the Mekong in the evening while sipping a beer in the bathtub was especially wonderful. The garden was beautifully landscaped too, The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially the manager. The restaurant menu was extensive and very tasty. We hope to stay there again when we visit Laos.

Lovely setting on the Mekong river, to wake up to this Shang ri la and take my breakfast with a view to die for, will not forget in the long, cold europen winter nights. Not a buffet but great simpel breakfast, nice food. Lovely gardens with Lao style, have your on tuk tuk almost like the stars. Room simplistic , same bath but lots of charm. Some rooms amazing Mekong view. Not like, the cats in resturant around legs when eat, have allergy against cats.

An excellent place to stay on the edge of Luang Prabang. Extremely accommodating hosts, very quiet at night and a unique spot to stay. The gardens are delightful and there are many nooks and crannies to find somewhere quiet to read, work or just enjoy the views.

Ock Pop Tok is one of those special places that you come across occasionally on your travels. The accommodation is understated and simple, yet very comfortable and relaxing, with local textiles adding colour to the room. The restaurant and views over the river are amazing. It was so nice to start the day with breakfast on the terrace, and if you want to have lunch or dinner at the property too the menu is excellent. The staff are also very helpful in arranging any additional tours or transfers you need. I look forward to visiting and staying again one day!
