We particularly appreciated the hotel’s location, very convenient and easily accessible from the train station, which makes getting around the city easy. The breakfast is of good quality and meets the group’s standards, offering a decent variety to start the day. The bedding also meets usual IHG expectations: very comfortable and restful, although the room is a bit noisy.
However, there were some disappointing aspects. We had booked a room with an atrium view, but it turned out to be a shopping area open late and brightly lit 24/7. Information on this was insufficient, and we had to keep the curtains closed at all times to maintain some privacy. In addition, the room furniture is clearly outdated and does not match the quality level expected from an IHG property, which was quite disappointing.
Despite these drawbacks, the hotel remains attractive thanks to its location, comfortable bedding, and quality breakfast, offering good value for money for a stay in Taichung.

Hotel is great but location is slightly out of the busy zone; however, it's still within walking distance. Just note that the opposite street of the hotel becomes a place of hangout for commercial night workers after 9 pm.
As with all green hotels, amenities are slightly lacking compared to fill-service hotels. Just managing one's expectations & it'll be fine.

When we checked in which was rather late ,was smooth but there is only one elevator and you have to wait for quite sometime. The room is spacious, there were shampoo and body wash but no tooth brush. Breakfast provided was quite good, although not those elaborate type. And they do changed some of the dishes for the 4nights I stayed. Gym was small, there is a laundry at B1 for only 20twn, dryer 20twn. They do provide some biscuits too at the lobby with drinks。

YYH_AllenI did not expect this accommodation to be a motel based on its Chinese name, so it was a bit of a surprise when I checked in.
The location is very convenient, which is a big plus. However, the overall environment had a slight smell of cigarette smoke. The room itself was spacious, but for guests arriving on foot, the access route is not very intuitive—you need to go down to the basement first and then enter through the parking garage, which makes the circulation feel somewhat inconvenient.

CCecilia PorQuesta è la mia terza volta che sono rimasto qui. Molto vicino alla stazione ferroviaria e al centro alimentare vicino. La stanza è pulita ma piuttosto piccolo e limitato spazio se hai bagagli più grandi. Tuttavia, il colazione è delizioso e è una scelta più sana durante il nostro soggiorno in questo giro. TTungBest resort in Taiwan and worth every penny. Highest level of service - it’s like being at a modern luxury ryokan in Japan except everyone speaks Chinese. Room design is brilliant, and one king room fit my family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers with a California king and a separate tatami area. The room has an epic view from every angle the moment you walk in the door and includes a private outdoor onsen connected to your bathroom. I noticed many private in-room onsens in Japan are diluted down, but this was spring fed. The public onsen was huge, extremely well maintained, and included a large walled zen garden with an adjacent sauna and cold plunge. I was lucky enough to experience this area all to myself with one other guest leaving as I arrived and another guest arriving as I was leaving. In China, this onsen would have comfortably accommodated 100 bathers. The spring water is not high in sulfuric content (doesn’t smell like rotten eggs), and the temperature is relatively mild - ideal for my family. Given the limited availability of the hotel online, I was expecting it to be more crowded. I got the sense that room rates are controlled to optimize guest experience, not profit, while staff are trained to ensure that customers never feel like they are being ripped off or “sold”. It seemed there were more staff than guests on site. I originally booked 2 rooms, and some of my family members couldn’t make the trip. We didn’t need the second room, and the staff were very gracious to refund and cancel the second room on the spot. When I’m back in Taiwan or traveling to a place where Hoshinoya does business, I would not hesitate to book again and make a special journey to stay at one of their destination resorts.

It was all within walking distance to 2nd market, Miyahara and night market. Will definitely stay again in Taichung if we ever return.

Non era così lontano dalla stazione HSR. Non ricordo la distanza esattamente e l’ora di viaggio. Ma se lo trovo lontano, di solito ricorderò e lo dirò.
Servizio - era un facile check-in e check-out. Anche se quasi dimenticavo di ricevere una ricetta. Ho dovuto chiedere una proattiva. Fortunatamente abbiamo deciso di rimanere un po' dopo aver controllato, ci siamo ricordati e abbiamo dovuto chiederla.
Mi piace come hanno chiesto di accedere al check-in se abbiamo bisogno di un servizio di pulizia della stanza.

Amo la stanza più! Eravamo felici di quanto fosse spaziosa. E ha una scatola AI che ci piacevamo. Il bagno ha una TV, la zona doccia era spaziosa, l'atmosfera della stanza, le strade e lobby. I snacks liberi. La marca del corpo, lavatrice e condizionatore, la macchina Nescafe gratuita nel lobby.
Lo avrei certamente raccomandato e rimarrei qui.

UUtente ospiteVicino al mercato notturno di Yizhong e molti buoni ristoranti. Anche vicino a molte fermate di autobus. Viaggiavo solo in autobus quando sono rimasto a Taichung e era così conveniente. Anche se la mia stanza non è spaziosa, è pulito e confortevole rimanere. Il bagno viene portato fuori ogni giorno. È disponibile un distributore d'acqua vicino all'ascensore che gli ospiti possono usare. Il personale dell'hotel è anche molto bello.

Rreg333excellent service by all staff; all smiley and ready to help. the free meals were such a bonus and god sent as some days we got too busy with our itinerary and didn’t have time to eat so we would go back to hotel for supper. although the menu was the same everyday, we didn’t mind as the quality was quite decent and there were varieties. the water pressure was the best! bed was comfortable, aircon was cold, smart tv, quick resolution service by technicians when we couldn’t connect to the room wifi. overall would recommend! there’s also a massage service with discount for room guests; quite mediocre but for the price ok la.

Ma per la mia sorpresa, il check-in è sorprendente alle 4:00.
Le strutture di ginnastica sono in fase di rinnovamento ma non hanno informato l'ospite prima del check-in.
Il Trip.com ha dichiarato aperto il 2023, che è molto fuorviante che l'hotel è stato ristrutturato o costruito di nuovo. Ma le camere sono vecchie ma fortunatamente non sono in esercizio e le camere sono pulite.

UUtente ospiteThis is our first time to make an accommodation in this hotel for my family trip with my granddaughter. We came there earlier before 16:00 in Jan 2, 2026. I asked an earlier checking around 14:40 but the girl who seated in the front desk said there system is not working yet and request me to wait in the lobby. In Jan 2, 2026, the weather of Taichung is not so well, windy all the day. I have to asked Trip Agent to coordinate this earlier check in for me but it took me around 50 minutes to get permission for earlier check in after received a phone call from Trip. This is first impression.
I request one more blanket for my granddaughter, the receptionist said it was charged but I never noted this when I made my reservation. It looks this hotel will charge most when you have extra demand. It is Ok but I never see a list price for this kind of extra service.
One more strage thing, I need to book my breakfast schedule. It using a time frame for different customer because the room inner space is not big enough. We have to seat in the outside close space without air-condintioned area. It is pretty chilly outside. Furthermore, this is not dinning ware for children to have at all. Very strange management.
The room facilities is out one date as well. The toilet waste is very simple and floor carpet is dirty also. The comforter cover does not tie up and The comforter is very easily fall out of cover in the midnight and make sleep quality poor.
