Karlsruhe: hotel con bar

Plus: + Value for money as such but largely depending on what deal one can make. + Reception - friendly and efficient. + City Center + Public transport (with a trade off - see under minus) + Breakfast OK but just + Bar service - coffee service excellent + Room very good equipped + Clean + Excellent but expensive garage-parking. Minus: - The Airconditioning is a bad joke! Does not work but they offer you a (good working) ventilator instead! - Avoid if possible the rooms at the frontside corner. A continuous flow of traffic and loud Trams are passing. It’s impossible to open a window without running the risk of hearing damage!

About 10 of us stayed at the hotel for a fair trade. I was very satisfied, both with the communication before our trip and then service during our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable and clean, the breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. The only negative was that street-facing rooms on the first level got quite noisy because of loud passers-by or possibly late-coming guests having a chat before coming in. Not sure the hotel can do anything about that, though. Luckily, the hotel is on a side street, not a main one with lots of traffic. I'd stay here again and can recommend it. The location is also great, walking-distance to many restaurants or even some shopping.

L:hotel è posizionato di fronte allo Zoo di Karlsruhe, vicino alla stazione ferroviaria e non lontano dall'autostrada. Peccato non ci siano molti locali nei dintorni. La struttura è datata ma comoda. Le camere sono ampie ed il bagno accogliente e di dimensione superiore alla media. Al nostro arrivo in camera siamo rimasti basiti quando abbiamo visto sul letto l'avviso che, a causa della mancanza di personale, non viene garantita la pulizia ed il riordino giornaliero.... Altro alla sorpresa non gradevole è la colazione..... Disponibile solo qualche marmellata ed un dispenser di Nutella, niente croissant o brioches, o almeno una fetta di torta..... Un po' meglio per il salato anche se i prodotti non erano di qualità.....

Wir waren enttäuscht: Im Februar 2022 nur Zimmerfrühstück ”wg. Corona”, welches man am Vorabend bestellen und die Lieferzeit angeben musste. Standard-Zimmer einschl. Bad sehr klein, Zimmertür zum Vorflur ließ sich nicht schließen (Bett im Weg), einfache Ausstattung. Wir wussten überhaupt nicht, wie und wo wir unser Frühstück einnehmen sollten. Die vier Sterne haben wir nicht gefunden. Dafür sind rd. 133 Euro + 15 Euro Tiefgarage pro Nacht zu viel. Positiv hervorzuheben ist die Lage mitten im Zentrum, das überaus freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal, die hauseigene Tiefgarage, in die man auch mit einem großen Auto kommt (allerdings muss man für Ein- und Ausfahrt sich jeweils eine Karte an der Rezeption holen und anschließend gleich wieder abgeben), freie Minibar (4 Flaschen).

I absolutely hate to give negative marks to anyone, but I feel that it is my responsibility to warn business travellers in particular about what seems to be going on at this hotel and, I am afraid, might well be going on across across the Novotel chain. I also want to alert their senior management who appear to have been deaf to comments passed to them by staff on the ground. I have used this hotel for almost 20 years for my occasional stays in Karlsruhe. It is clearly the first choice for business travellers to Karlsruhe: perfectly centrally located, superb transport connections, with all modern conveniences, very good and varied breakfast buffet, very helpful and unusually friendly staff and up until now well appointed rooms, But upon check-in this time, actually on a private visit, the staff seemed reluctant to let me have a room on the 4th floor, the first one to be completed in their current renovation process. I nevertheless chose a room there, had one look at it, and decided that it was a travesty for what is supposed to be a hotel for business travellers: No desk, no chair other than two huge reclining rocking chairs, no sockets other than a few German 220V outlets dotted about the room, one at a time, no USB charger points. In other words: not a place where one can do any work. Is a business traveller desperate to put a last touch on that PowerPoint for next morning going to balance a laptop on her lap while rocking in an easy chair just out of reach of the socket for the chargers? And, just to discourage the leisure traveller as well, they ripped out the bath tub and replaced it with a shower tray the same full size of a bathtub, and replaced the cupboard for your clothes with open hanging space only. My wife, for one, would not put up with spending a leisurely weekend staring at her dresses and coats. We are not of student-dig age anymore! The real insult is that all of these ”amenities” (necessities if you ask me) were and are still present in the un-renovated rooms on the lower floors, I was on a private trip, but still wanted to do some stuff, so I asked to change rooms, which was not a problem. But it would have been in the not too distant future. Accor Hotel management: PLEASE STOP AND THINK AGAIN, or this might not be the last review of this nature.

L'hotel è situato in un bel edificio storico, che è ottico, ma significa anche che l'isolamento del rumore e il riscaldamento sono un po' datati. Potevi sentire i tram che passavano all’esterno, che era un rumore ogni volta, ma mi sorprendeva quanto bene mi sono addormentato. Il letto era grande. Il riscaldamento era più di una questione in primavera, ci vuole molto tempo per riscaldare la stanza. Non c'è problema se dormite in una stanza fredda, ma per il mio partner era troppo freddo. L'ascensore in legno è un monumento storico (un monumento tecnico), che mi piaceva per il mio interesse nella storia e nella tecnologia. Non aspettate un dispositivo molto moderno, tuttavia. Inoltre, l'edificio è mantenuto in stato di lavoro nonostante la sua età, anche se alcune riparazioni potrebbero fare miracoli, che avrebbe potuto essere un grande hotel quando è stato costruito, e ha ancora il potenziale se dovessero ripararlo. In operazioni, l'hotel, purtroppo, perde punti. Non avere una caldaia né una cassaforte nella stanza se inferiore al standard per un hotel a quattro stelle più. Il nocciolo del secchiatore capelli cadde, apparentemente rotto. Non puoi solo camminare di notte, devi chiamare il notteman per lasciarti in poche ore. La porta principale è chiusa e non c'è nessuna porta laterale o lettore di carte per la tua carta da camera. Devi mandare qualcuno e lasciarti entrare. Il parcheggio è limitato, che ha lavorato per noi. Le cose potrebbero essere diverse, l'hotel ha più ospiti, quindi potresti dover trovare altri parcheggi. In totale, se avete bisogno di alloggi vicino alla stazione principale e non necessitate troppo, è un bel posto per soggiornare, soprattutto se si ottiene un buon prezzo. Se si aspetta un'esperienza di quattro stelle più, l'hotel non si aspetta ragionevolmente.

La camera al quarto piano era un po' calda, non c'era aria condizionata ma il fan aveva un fan. Il bagno è piccolo ma abbiamo dormito bene. Un altro più era anche il frigo nella stanza. La stanza era un po' vecchia ma era buona per un soggiorno di una notte. Il personale era bellissimo, molto piacevole.

I had the opportunity to spend nine days in this hotel. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. Most of them have a working knowledge of English, which was a great help for me. They do not have coffee/tea-making facilities in the room. For me, it is a severe drawback. Housekeeping is also not as efficient. They just made the bed and never cleaned the room. The location is very convenient. They are within walking distance from the central train station and have a tram stop just in front of the hotel.

Dieses Hotel ist den 4 Sternen absolut würdig. Das komplette Personal war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Kommuniziert wurde vorab sehr kompetent und freundlich per Mail. Die Lobby ist sehr schön und einladend, mit Kaffeeautomat und Wasserspender. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und es gab dann zu unserer Freude ein Upgrade. Das Zimmer war sehr schön - mit allem ausgestattet, super Matratze, Tablet und eine Kaffeemaschine. Das Frühstück war wirklich sehr gut - im UG, was aber durch helle schöne indirekte Lichtquellen (mit Himmelmotiv) ausgeglichen wurde und wir haben uns auch hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Bar und Personal war sehr schön, wir haben vorab reserviert und den gewünschten Tisch bekommen. Wenn wir nochmals nach Karlsruhe kommen, dann wieder dieses Hotel.
