Our recent stay at this hotel was unfortunately the worst of our 7-week trip across Asia. We are sharing this review to help others make informed decisions. Room Conditions – Falling Apart The first room assigned to us did not have a fridge, despite being advertised as such. The rooms we experienced were in poor condition, with heavy wear and visible neglect. The shower cabin was extremely dirty, and many areas, including the ceiling, showed signs of serious disrepair. Images attached give just a glimpse of what we saw. Cleanliness Both rooms were disappointing in terms of cleanliness. Linens felt unclean, there was visible mold and grime, and touching any surfaces felt unpleasant. The bathroom had clogged drains, low water pressure, and water pooled up after every shower. Staff Service – Some Positives There were a few bright spots in our stay. The young lady at the reception was very helpful, going out of her way to assist with an online purchase. Another staff member kindly helped us with a taxi upon departure. Final Thoughts We hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously to improve its standards. Please read a range of reviews carefully to ensure you have a clear picture before booking.

Following the review my husband left regarding our stay on Google, the owner of the hotel approached me directly through private messages. This was both unexpected and unprofessional, as I had booked the stay but was not the reviewer. He did not approach the situation constructively but instead sent a series of defensive and manipulative messages. The owner referenced his financial struggles, the need to earn for his children, and even suggested that our feedback aimed to harm his business. These attempts to deflect genuine feedback and to pressure us felt highly unprofessional and highlighted a larger concern: it seems we are not the first guests approached in this manner. While I understand that receiving critical feedback can be challenging, approaching customers in this way is unacceptable and speaks to deeper issues with how the hotel handles constructive criticism. No guest should feel pressured or guilt-tripped into changing their honest review. To be transparent, we have included images of the messages we received to ensure future guests are fully aware of how negative feedback is addressed. Honest reviews should help businesses improve and inform potential guests, not lead to uncomfortable confrontations. We hope this review sheds light on the full experience. Edit: After submitting my review, the owner deleted the WhatsApp messages, changed his profile picture and seemingly posted multiple fake 5 star reviews in the space of an hour.

Unfortunately this hotel needs some maintenance. As the photos displayed are not representative of the room we stayed in or the place we saw. Our room was very tired looking and worn out. Lots of things were broken - the lock for the room was temperamental, the safes were broken and wouldn’t lock, the holder for placement of hotel key card for power was covered over, water leaked out of the bath/shower all over the floor every time we used it, the kettle lid was broken. There was water damage/damp on the ceiling. Staff were friendly. Bed was comfortable. AC worked. I couldn’t recommend anyone else to stay here. Disappointing experience for us, so would advise there are better places to stay in Hanoi for a similar price.

We just went there to sleep, stayed here 3 nights cos it was cheap and liked location, i didn't have high expectations as only cost approx $75nzd per night 5x people 2x rooms. I think there will be cheaper better options but if not see my pros & cons below and photos before you book. We also saw this property on travel guides AU so thought it would be fun to see what we thought of it too. It was way worse than the show 3yrs earlier. Pros Cheap for 5x travelers Good location easy walk to lake & markets Beds ok Free water and amineties Cons Dirty in places and run down everywhere Tiolets didn't work if they were flushed in 5min successions Black mould on roof in one bedroom Duvet (blanket) was to small for double bed Rotten floor boards everywhere Only 1x aircon remote between 2x rooms Showers only luke warm for first 2x bathers then cold Only 1x safe for two rooms Noisy Not enough bedding to for everyone initially and some pillows dirty but they did sort. Smells of people's cooking coming into room somehow Staff on reciption sleepy and disinterested but will help if you approach Bedroom walls need washing In summary wouldn't book again but surved a purpose.

I booked into this hotel for 2 nights as it seemed to tick all the boxes that I was looking for. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all. The room was spacious and the bathroom was nice. There were lots of things missing from the room, that were supposed to be supplied, kettle, coffee, tea, water, tissues just the small things however, these things make the difference. When I went to go to bed there is a water leak above my bed, which made the bed wet and kept me awake for most of the night. Oh and breakfast was not supplied, he offered me a discount. I did not stay another night chose to stay somewhere else. The Posh Central Hanoi Hotel needs to lift its game if it is to be given a better rating.
