Hotel in zona Parque de Rua das Cruzes, Funchal

I stayed in this hotel for 6 days. The staff are very helpful and the location is great. Very close to the city centre. The facilities in the hotel such as the swimming pool and spa are very nice as well. Amazing views from the rooftop and infinite swimming pool. The only thing it disappointed me was the breakfast. When comes to health and safety they make most of their foods in deep-fried oil which is horrible for people like me that have cholesterol problems. I have never seen a hotel doing fried eggs in a swimming pool of oil. I had a conversation with other hotel guests as well and they said the same thing. They could not eat the egg as it was very oily and the fork could not grab it. The coffee is not great as well it tastes like powder. So for a 5-star hotel, I would not recommend the breakfast. But the hotel facilities are great indeed. If I had the opposition to come back… I would not do it so. As the breakfast is a facility very important to me.

Alugamos 2 quartos neste hotel por 4 dias. Um bom hotel, mas longe de ser um 4 estrelas. Decoração dos quartos antiga e bem simples, sem charme algum, tipo 2,5 a 3 estrelas no máximo. Mas as camas eram confortáveis. A garagem disponível é bem pequena e se chegar tarde corre o risco de ter que procurar estacionamento na rua. O que se incomodo após um dia de passeios. Café da manhã simples, bom.

L'hotel è molto bello, molto ben tenuto e ben organizzato. Ottima la pulizia! Noi avevamo optato per la mezza pensione e sebbene io sia sempre un po' restio per le cene a buffet devo dire che il buffet ha riservato delle belle sorprese. Sia per la colazione, sia per la cena il cibo è buono e vario. C'è veramente tutto. Magari servirei più frutta tropicale locale, come papaya e maracuja che non sono mai state presenti. Un peccato... Abbiamo apprezzato molto la zona in cui è posizionato l'hotel e il parcheggio interno gratuito per gli ospiti dell'hotel. Altra cosa molto bella la zona della piscina. Spaziosa, anch'essa ben tenuta, un angolo meraviglioso per il relax. Anche il personale è sempre stato disponibile e gentile. La nostra camera, la n. 625, non aveva l'affaccio sul mare e sulla piscina, ma lo sapevamo. Unico aspetto negativo è dato dalla vetustà della stanza che andrebbe riammodernata. Porta del bagno vecchiotta e che si apre verso l'interno, quindi toglie dello spazio al bagno

Siamo stati una settimana in questa struttura e ci siamo trovati benissimo! La struttura è molto bella, in un’ottima posizione sull’oceano e con tanti servizi di ottima qualità. Le camere sono spaziose e pulite, lo staff è cortese e disponibile. Ottimo il buffet, sempre vario e ben rifornito. Quando non siamo riusciti a prenotare in uno dei ristoranti tematici, la direzione si è presa carico del problema e ha trovato posto anche per noi, permettendoci di provare anche l’ottimo ristorante Botanic che offre piatti della cucina di Madeira. L’animazione divertente, per i giovani come nostro figlio, senza essere invasiva. Consigliatissimo a tutti, coppie e famiglie, per un soggiorno senza pensieri a Madeira. We stayed a week in this resort and we had a great time! The property is very beautiful, in an excellent location on the ocean and with many excellent quality services. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are kind and helpful. The buffet is excellent, always varied and well stocked. When we were unable to book in one of the thematic restaurants, the management solved the problem and found a place for us too, allowing us to also try the excellent Botanic restaurant which offers Madeiran cuisine. The entertainment team was fun, especially for young people, without being invasive. Highly recommended to everyone, couples and families, for a wonderful stay in Madeira.

Ho prenotato una stanza standard in B&B con la mia famiglia e sono stato alloggiato in upgrade gratuito nell’ala nuova dell’hotel … la nostra spaziosa camera aveva un delizioso balcone con una vista mozzafiato sul centro di Funchal, una deliziosa e abbondante colazione in una sala con vista spettacolare e ampie vetrate. Molto bello il giardino sul tetto al piano superiore con una piscina (peccato non sia riscaldata… acqua un po’ freddina a meno di giornate molto calde), un bar e sedie a sdraio. Molto tranquillità e serenità anche se sulla strada (comunque non molto trafficata). Davanti l’hotel passa un bus che non abbiamo mai utilizzato poiché avevamo un’auto a noleggio e vista la posizione dell’hotel penso sia questa una soluzione opportuna. Parcheggio auto dell’hotel gratuito. Wifi funzionante in modo eccellente. Il centro di Funchal si raggiunge in appena 10 minuti in auto così come il giardino botanico e molte attrazioni vicine alla capitale. Facile accedere alla superstrada per l’aeroporto (circa 15 minuti di auto) e alle strade che collegano alle principali località dell’isola. This place was amazing. The location of Camara de Lobos was perfect. A lovely fishing village bay. The hotel was split into 2 buildings, the reception building and the main room stay and restaurant building. The reception building has a bar and various relaxing areas and a few stay room above. The other building, the main stay, has 2 floors for rooms and the 3rd floor has the restaurant, pool and sun beds area. The 2nd floor is the best because of the views down into the bay. When we first saw this place on Jet2 we thought it would be higher up the hillside, but this wasn’t the case, it is at street level. Food in the restaurant was good and they couldn’t do enough to satisfy your needs, from requesting ice and drinks to take to your room but going the whole 9 yards. Carolina was our waitress of our stay, whether she served us in the restaurant or at the dock bar by reception. Always smiling and couldn’t do enough for you. We was celebrating our 50 anniversary and the hotel left us a gift, drink and cakes etc, after the first week and wine and cakes on our actual anniversary. Thee receptionist gave good information regarding places to visit from either local buses to taxes etc. They organised a trip by mini bus for a tour of the east of the island.

Our experience of the hotel was enhanced by our meal in the restaurant, which I have reviewed separately. My favourite thing about the room was the enclosed balcony. It was like having a private yoga studio in the sky. (Fellow yogis note, the floor was slippery.) I also enjoyed the spectacular view from the Sauna, which at the time was free because it was not working optimally. (So do ask!) It was good enough for me, but it took over an hour to heat up. The Pool looked too small and shallow to actually swim in, but mostly it was unusable as it was colder than the sea. I don’t know if this was usual. Breakfast was fairly similar to ones we had at other Madeira hotels, but this place had the tastiest selection of fresh bread rolls and very good garlicky mushrooms. The room was clean. We liked the 3-section recycling bin in the room. Others mentioned lack of plugs for phones. Erm... we knew about that but were surprised to find that there were not enough plugs for the room items. The Kettle and TV had to share a wall outlet. They really should consider supplying an extension lead, which could be given out and collected at check-in, just as they (bizarrely) do with the TV remote control. We did start off on a rather bad note. At check in, we were downright ignored. One receptionist was settling a dispute with another guest, but both members of staff deliberately avoided any sort of eye contact with us. I don't normally notice this sort of thing, but it was rude and infuriating and lasted some time. A simple nod would have sufficed. I’ll put this down to a bad day for the first member of staff, who later was helpful. After a long wait for no discernible reason, the other receptionist demanded payment before we had even seen the room, for which we had paid in advance. We've stayed at many places who use multiple booking sites. Sometimes you pay on arrival, sometimes beforehand, and we understand that the hotel needs to know. However, there are ways of asking that don't come across as offensive and like one is trying to get away with something. Not everyone is out to steal the remote control. Make sure you bring proof of payment if you’ve paid in advance, as we had. The hotel is lucky that they have out of this world views.

Ci siamo fermati una settimana con amici in questa struttura. Pulita, luminosa, tranquilla. C'è anche una piscina interna e una sala fitness (che non ho usato) Colazione a buffet molto variata, sia dolce che salata, abbondante. Abbiamo anche cenato due sere lì. Anche in questo caso c'è un buffet. Il luogo è tranquillo, in riva al mare. Le camere sono spaziose, tutte vista mare, molte con terrazza. C'ê l'aria condizionata, una piccola cassaforte e il Wi-Fi prende bene. Il prezzo è adeguato alla struttura. Nelle vicinanze vi sono alcuni ristoranti e bar. Per l'auto vi è un'autorimessa sotterranea, che però è quasi sempre completa. Vi sono comunque parcheggi in zona.
