Very sociable kind staff who talk to you like a regular friend coming in, plain rooms but nice sized windows for the fresh air, great rooftop view alllllll over the mountain and the ocean - especially lovely at night as everything is lit up. Cute bar setup aside the pool too! Good price for its perfect location and cleanliness and covering all the basics and a bit more. Good brunch cafe just across the street facing the cafe! The staff were super helpful with setting up a late checkin too.

In ottima posizione : in pieno centro a Funchal e con parcheggio. Camere e bagni grandi. Colazione e cena buone : antipasto, piatto principale (pesce dell'Atlantico o carne) e dolce / frutta locale. Personale molto gentile, che consiglia le escursioni. Da rinnovare in alcune parti ma tutto sommato buono!

HOTEL WINDSOR: Quarto medíocre; Falta de pressão de água no duche; Ar condicionado avariado constantemente e seus filtros muito sujos; Pequeno-Almoço pobre; Máquina de sumos avariada (em 6 dias só lá tomei o peaueno-almoço uma vez; de resto, sempre fora). Cofre pequeno e antiquado; Frigorífico abria apenas com chave; Réveillon de 2021/2022 fraco e muito caro, sendo que o vinho servido era intragável. Este Hotel necessita de uma grande remodelação para ser considerado de 4 estrelas, pois lamentavelmente nem a 3 estrelas chega.

The little old lady at the reception of this hotel is the rudest receptionist I've ever encountered. I popped in there to check availability and prices. She talked down to me, was loud and condescending, and kept talking over me. Quite frankly I was shocked with the level of the rudeness - she was horrible! There is one thing I am grateful for though, her horribleness made sure I ensuring that I would not want to stay there even for the best of prices!

I stayed in Windsor hotel for 4 nights during my stay. The hotel is well located in downtown but that’s the only positive aspect. First impression of the staff was not so good, not friendly and my booking was not in the system. The building is very old looking like the 80s or 90s. The room is not comfortable with old furniture and the bed could be much better. The AC is making noise all night even when turned off, a problem said to be structural on the building related with condensation. The restaurant downstairs have good food, but the breakfast was terrible, very basic with no variety. I would suggest you to look for another place to stay to make your stay more pleasant in such a nice island.

Stuff is amazing but the property and furniture is pretty old. No minibar and no coffee in the room although there is a kettle. I called ahead to confirm my booking but when I arrived I was told the hotel was overbooked and I have to go to Garisol for two days. Well ok but I also booked yours to pick me up from Windsor so this added extra costs to my trip. When I arrived to original booked room I was pretty disappointed - the toilet was dirty and the bed linens very worn off with someone’s hair on it. I got like 20 nasty mosquito/fly bites overnight and when I asked for help the receptionist told me “you must have opened the window and let them in” which I didn’t do it wasn’t nice to hear but I was given a spray and a gel which helped at least, so I was thankful for that. The pool is nothing like the picture. Pretty and small for full hotel of people. All and all slightly traumatized from this trip since I was tossed around like a hot potato and ended up getting eaten by insect. Better spend more and get better hotel.

It is a very dated hotel. Rooms are fine but very old style. The terrace is quite nice with a nice pool to relax. Other than that, the hotel is quite poor. Rooms are quite noisy from the street, WiFi is not available everywhere, breakfast is pretty poor and basic. The staff was nice in general, but the night guy was very rude. All in all, the hotel is not bad or unbearable, but definitely has room for improvement.
