We highly recommend Hotel Helvetia & Bristol which is a very historic hotel (but completely refurbished and with modern amenities) occupying a series of palazzi in what I would describe as the best location in town: in the middle of centro storico, just off Via Tornabuoni with its luxury shopping, opposite Cartier and Louis Vuitton, facing the impressive Palazzo Strozzi and other significant buildings, a minute away from lively Piazza della Repubblica and walking distance to Duomo, Accademia all other sights of the city, but still somewhat hidden and with a very quiet breakfast/restaurant terrace to a side street. They have a very efficient valet parking service. So just let them park your car and explore Florence by foot! The welcome was very warm. The bellhops were fantastic and immediately took care of luggage and the car, check-in was super smooth, we received an upgrade to one of their signature junior suites facing Palazzo Strozzi (very intense red/pink walls) and other treats in the suite. Everything in the hotel is so chic and oozes history, and is immaculately maintained/restored so it does not feel worn or stuffy at all and blended with some bright colours. Service in general was very professional but warm and also did not feel in any way stuffy, the concierge team was super, always super responsive. Only the breakfast service on the terrace was a bit erratic at times, but everyone was super nice. Please do check out their new phenomenal Roman Spa in the basement which is free for hotel guests. It’s huge with pools and showers and steam baths and relaxation areas, you can experience a full Roman bath experience here. Never ever would one expect such a gigantic Spa in such a location. It really was very relaxing after a day of sightseeing and shopping! We also used their restaurants to host a dinner for friends which went very well and they arranged for a very nice setting for our party of eight. We have stayed at several other luxury hotels in town. The St Regis is nice, but location is a bit off and it lacks a proper SPA and pool; Four Seasons is also totally out of the way; the Place Firenze cannot compete. If we were to return to Florence, we would choose Helvetia & Bristol again in a heartbeat.

La stanza ha un senso di progettazione, anche se non molto grande ma molto caldo e confortevole. La guancia è questo tipo di stanza molto dolce, che è a metà piano. Ha bisogno di un'altra scala molto grassa. Ci sono diversi gradini nella stanza. La scatola è molto inamichevole!La colazione è ancora molto buona. Si può sedersi fuori per sentirsi.

Posto delizioso Questa struttura offre numerosi servizi, ma dopo una giornata di lavoro la SPA è stato un momento che ho apprezzato molto, grazie a chi mi ha accolto e coccolata nonostante io non avessi prenotato la SPA in anticipo. Consiglierei solo di aggiungere qualche persona in più allo staff, perché per mantenere una qualità impeccabile sia alla Reception che nella SPA sicuramente una persona in più farebbe la differenza in una location così prestigiosa. Grazie a tutti siete stati strepitosi.

Siamo stati al The Place per la seconda volta ed è sempre come tornare a casa. La gentilezza dello staff del front office, gli ambienti senza eccessi ma curati in ogni dettaglio e la posizione perfetta sono tra le ragioni per cui è stato bello ritornare. Torneremo!

Very good and charismatic place right in the middle of everything in Florence: shops, museums and restaurants, you can get anywhere within few minutes of walking. The front desk in very limited time arranged for us a short (we stayed 4 nights only), but not easy to execute program including a day in Chianti with 2 private winery visits (wineries from my list) and provided us with plenty restaurant recommendations. Which truth be told turned out to be better than couple of restaurants we found ourselves searching and reading reviews. The minuses. We were staying in a suite on the 2nd floor, which in Vecchietti is actually quite high due to high ceilings on each floor. The windows were to a side street and upon arrival we were assured that the windows are soundproof. But every night we were woken-up several times first by various partygoers returning back to the hotels/apartments and next by communal services collecting the garbage. The shower is tiny, has stone tiles floor and a big window that saw better times, which is letting in plenty of air from the outside. Even sitting on the toilet, which is located next to the shower door, (excuse me for details) one can feel cold air blowing from the shower door, which can’t be closed completely. On top of that one of the maids always found it a good idea to leave that window open for the whole day after leaving the room doing the cleaning. This being in November already. So, going into that shower was an ordeal every time.

Sono arrivato presto e mi sono offerto di depositare i miei bagagli alla reception e mi hanno consegnato in camera, è carino. Non c'è stato alcun briefing sulle disposizioni per la colazione al momento del check-in, presumono che tu lo sappia. La mia stanza è un'unità terminale con un letto singolo, il che va bene per me, il bagno è piacevolmente grande e mi è piaciuto il bagno. Anche la doccia è buona con una buona pressione dell'acqua. Ho trovato un paio di pantofole nel cassetto del comodino invece che nell'armadio, sono comode. Per tutte le 3 notti in cui sono rimasto senza Wi-Fi, non sono riusciti a risolverlo! La presa elettrica ha tre fori quindi è necessario portare l'adattatore specifico in quanto non esiste una porta usb per caricare i gadget. Ho cambiato il mio in bagno mentre i miei due adattatori per pinta funzionavano lì. Nessun bollitore in camera ma mi hanno gentilmente consegnato dell'acqua calda nella mia stanza quando ho richiesto. La seconda notte mi hanno detto di scendere a prenderlo. La TV ha canali di notizie internazionali tranne la CNN, ma per me va bene. Gli ascensori sono efficienti.

Non è la prima recensione che scrivo su questo bellissimo hotel, ma ogni volta mi sorprende per quel Plus in piu ; e mentre intorno a me vedo tanta mediocrità, scarsa qualità e pressappochismo , “il Berchielli” è un po’ quell’ “Isola Felice” che spesso dovremmo trovare in hotel di Charme come questo! Qui è davvero tutto curato nei dettagli e niente è lasciato al caso . Partendo dall attenzione della Governante nella sistemazione delle camere , tutto lo staff del Ricevimento, Massimo, Massimiliano, Barbara, Stefano, Dimitri sempre attentissimi al cliente . Un grazie particolare a Simone che ogni anno immancabilmente alloggio nella stessa camera ! I Rqgazzi della ristorazione, Paolo, Ignazio, Roberto, Stefano: siete meravigliosi . Che dire : tutto perfetto e anche se soggiorno per lavoro è sempre un dispiace lasciarvi !!

This hotel is an incredible find. It is right in the centre of Florence, it is quiet, it is within an historic building which is maintained to the highest standards. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the room service is unobtrusive and efficient. Our room was always cleaned and tidied daily and we were never disturbed. The room has lots of free products like high quality shampoo and conditioner, soap, shaving kits, toothbrushes, nail polish remover etc. The room has a hairdryer and there was even a socket that accepted uk plugs. They really have thought of everything. We will be back!

We stayed at the Palazzo in 2019, pre-pandemic and often reminisced about our lovely stay there during the intervening years. Our stay this time was as memorable as our last. It is such a lovely palace, convenient to all the main attractions in Florence and also to great shopping. There is so much history at this place, and the attentive staff were well informed and more than eager to share. There are plenty of luxury hotels at every price point available in Florence. But if you are looking for an unforgettable and unique experience, then the Palazzo is worth considering.

My husband is great at picking out small, intimate European Hotels in perfect locations and this one was indeed perfection! Located in a very upscale, central area with shops, restaurants and a pharmacy all right outside our door. Ricciarda, Eleonora and Letizia were so helpful during our planning stages, through multiple postponements during the pandemic and right through arrival and saying good bye. They were all just so sweet and so attentive to our needs. When I realized that my petite body was just not tall enough to see my face in the mirror above the bathroom sink, they brought me a step stool even though there was a full length mirror outside of the bathroom. The room size was large by European standards and the community kitchen was so nice to have to make tea at night when we returned from an evening out. Everything was very clean, fresh, modern and they made sure we staggered breakfast times so we had plenty of social distancing. We absolutely loved this very special BNB and when we come back to Florence it is where we will be staying!
