Hotel a Cairns North, Australia

Il servizio all'arrivo era grande, e si fermò da tutti i dipendenti le 4 notti che ci fermiamo qui. 3 di noi si fermarono in un appartamento contenente 2 camere da letto. Ben fatto, tempestivo e pulito. Grande doccia e bagno. solo l'influenza è stata la pressione e la temperatura dell'acqua, entrambi fluttuati notevolmente, ma vivibile! Scones ogni mattina. Molto buon valore per i soldi, rimarrà ancora

The photos provided by the operators are extremely deceptive. The accomodation is old and run down. The shower tiles were painted at some stage, and it is now peeling off both the floor and the walls. The “updated” vanity basin and tap are poorly sizes and you are unable to fully wash your face due to the shape and size of the basin with a shorter necked faucet . There is no complete enclosure for water in the shower resulting in you flooding the bathroom each time you shower- we ended up using the common showers in the passageway to attempt keep our room dry. The toilet paper is only single ply so bring your own if you decide to stay here !! Our towels and sheets had stains on them and the pillows are flat and lumpy. I wouldn’t swim in the pool unless you’ve had your latest tetanus shots. We were followed back to the accommodation by a slightly hostile homeless person one night which was slightly unnerving for our teenage daughters. The nicest part of this accommodation is the outdoor BBQ area. The breakfast provided smelt ok, but we decided to eat at the cafe at the marina each day as we were heading out to the reef and islands anyways. We decided to stay here and save money as generally we are out during the day and only need a comfortable bed and a clean shower- next time we will be going back to our regular accommodation closer to the Esplanade. I

When I got there the room smelt of mould. I was told that was the smell of the cleaning products, but I am not stupid so I insisted they change the room. They did, but it was infested with ants. They were in the sink area, on the counter, in the bathroom, and around the toilet bowl. They even got into the wardrobe. I spoke to reception about it and all I got was a ”there is nothing we can do for you”. They sent someone after 2 days (as I had to wait since it was Sunday as if I hadn't paid for the weekend!) and he also said there was nothing he could do. I complained to booking.com and they told them they had upgraded me - BIG FAT LIE. Very quick to send me messages to leave reviews (here you have it!) but not to resolve issues. There was also an electrical fault that destroyed two expensive universal adapters. The hotel did nothing to compensate for this. Again ”there is nothing we can do for you” is what I got. I lost a day's pay as I could not work without a power supply, had to purchase new adapters the following day, and all they could say is ”there is nothing we can do for you”. What kind of hotel doesn't have adapters? The AC unit was exposed, the door was tricky to lock/unlock (the receptionist had to show me how to lock the door), and there is no one available at night in case something goes wrong. Lastly, the listing says daily cleaning but this is not true. You are only allowed to ask for it once in the middle of your stay and you need to request this. I did and she barely cleaned anything, just a quick vacuum and change of sheets and some towels (not all). My sincere advice as a world traveller: STAY AWAY FROM HOTEL TROPIQ. Their customer service is ZERO. Quick to take credit card details but then refuse to take responsibility for anything that goes wrong within the service. You just have to accept a ”there is nothing we can do for you”. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy!

Don’t stay here if you want peace and quiet! This place is on the corner of the main highway and another busy street, which is frequently used for Ambulance transfers to the hospitals nearby! The Oasis is, also, in a direct flight path, on calm days, for planes landing at Cairns airport. Noise can also radiate, into the rooms, from groups of travelers and their children yelling from the pool and BBQ area, as was the case on a couple of evenings and into the nights, during our week’s stay! Although the above has been mentioned in this review, the noise didn’t bother hubby and I as much as the state of unit 17 did! If other 2-bedroom apartments, in the complex, are as run down, as this one, with disgustingly dirty curtains, uncomfortable beds, uncomfortable peeling away lounges, (they definitely need to be replaced), fold up cheap ‘Bunnings like’ metal chairs, for sitting at the dining table, and a gas stove that has to be lit with matches, then again, don’t choose the Oasis for your vacation, in Cairns. The room, which didn’t have a lot of natural light, needs renovation. The pool area could do with some upgrading, as well. The concrete throughout the pool area has many cracks in it and the coating on the pool steps is lifting! The Manager/Caretaker was friendly and very accommodating. We were originally allocated, through our booking, a 2nd floor 2-bedroom unit, to be accessed by stairs. At our request, in kindness to our knees, he offered us the ground floor, No 17, which had just come up for holiday rental. He did admit he wasn’t sure as to what state it had been left! Even so, it would have been expected that some inspection, on the vacated resident’s departure, would have been done before offering it to holiday renters! Smoking is allowed outside each unit. Sadly, the smoke, from smokers, can drift into other units, whose sliding front doors may be open for fresh air! As well as the above, the free Wi-Fi is useless! This is another negative for the Oasis, with dropouts all the time, and at other times no service at all! For a better and faster service, you need to HOTSPOT your phones! You certainly can’t rely on the Oasis for your free internet! When we came back to Cairns, to visit our family, located around the area, we will definitely choose elsewhere! Once bitten, twice shy!

For the price this place offers everything you need. The pool and kitchen area are appealing and a feature of the hotel. The secure car parking is great. The room itself has all the basics and a few extras like hair dryer and ironing board. The hot water and shower are excellent. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Should you like a walk, the hotel is around a 30 to 40 minute walk to the foreshore lagoon area. Set in a generally quiet area with a few nearby shops and food outlets.

Abbiamo prenotato il villaggio di Bay per la buona posizione. Non ci sono resi conto di quanto fosse conveniente. Possiamo camminare a Kmart e anche al terminale di crociera per la crociera dei nostri skylovers. Per il tour di skyrail di Kuranda, hanno offerto di prendere al villaggio di baia, così è stato uno dei nostri considerazioni durante la prenotazione.

Hotel buono ma arrivato negli anni, circa 20 minuti a piedi da corsa fino al porto. Super comodo e largo letto, molto buon colazione. Eravamo soddisfatti intorno. A causa dell'umidità elevata, non si possono asciugare i bagni sul balcone, anche i vestiti nella valigia hanno un po' di umidità - ma l'hotel non può farlo.

Buona posizione e servizio. Sono rimasto nella stanza di vista dell'oceano. Era così bella. Posso andare ai mercati notturni e ad altri negozi. Visiterò di nuovo, senza dubbio, per le vacanze dell'anno prossimo.

La posizione dell'hotel è nella media. Ci vogliono circa 15 minuti a piedi dal ristorante e dal centro. Il servizio al bancone non è molto buono, con occhi inespressivi, e non ti dirà i dettagli al momento del check-in. L'aria condizionata nella stanza degli ospiti non può essere regolata, può solo essere accesa/spenta. Quando il condizionatore d'aria è acceso, sembrerà molto freddo, e quando è spento, sarà un po' soffocante e c'è solo una coperta sottile. Il bagno della camera degli ospiti è molto fatiscente. Altri stanno bene. Non consiglio di soggiornare in questo hotel.

In generale, il formato standard del motel, l'hotel australiano non può essere comparato con il paese, ma è anche un pratico nove ore.L'hotel che viaggia con la famiglia.La reception è anche buona. Non ci siamo fermati la notte dopo, ma il bagaglio ci ha aiutato a prendere il bagaglio e a risolvere i nostri grandi problemi.
