Hotel a Timisoara, Romania

Hotel eccellente - personale amichevole, fantastico colazione con deliziose scelte e caffè. 10-15 minuti a piedi a Piata Unirii - si è sentito molto sicuro a notte camminando attraverso un quartiere residenziale. Congegno contemporaneo e molto tranquillo - letti molto comodi! Stavano per tre notti e dormire meglio tutta la trip a tre settimane in Romania.

We stayed at this hotel with a tour group and it was generally, quite satisfactory. It was situated about 1 km from the centre of the city and away from the crowds and thus, was conveniently located. The walk to the city centre was an easy and flat one. While the hotel did back onto a railway line and our room faced that direction, our sleep wasn't disturbed. Rooms were comfortable but not huge. The one glaring drawback was that the breakfast area really wasn't big enough to cope with the number of guests, with queues forming for everything. In fact, the area was like a pop up breakfast room, with things stored in cupboards around the room. Breakfast itself was average. There is plenty of parking for guests.

I have chosen Mercure Timisoara and it was the best decision because this place really gave me the perfect accommodation experience. The hotel is perfectly located in a quiet area close to the city center and from the 4th floor (where my room was located) it offers a great view. The room was astonishing: spacious, modern design, all amenities needed and a large comfortable bed for an excellent sleep. On top of that, the technology inside the room was amazing because everything is digitally controlled using a tablet. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast that offered a lot of choices and all of them were great. There is an outstanding restaurant inside the hotel where I had both lunch and dinner and I can easily say I had a real international dining experience because the menu includes dishes from all over the world. Special thanks from my side to Mr. Florin Cojocaru (the hotel’s general manager) for his great hospitality, friendly attitude and willingness to help me with anything needed in order to have the perfect stay at the hotel. I highly appreciated that the management is really focused on creating the highest standards, so the guests can have the best experience during their stay at this hotel. Thanks to Mr. Cojocaru and his amazing team I had a wonderful accommodation experience.

Impossibile non assegnare 5 stelle all'unico albergo visitato in una settimana in cui abbiamo trovato in bagno il bidet! C'è da aggiungere che la mia votazione si riferisce alla camera sul retro, assegnatari dopo avere constatato che la stanza inizialmente messaci a disposizione era molto rumorosa. Metà delle stanze si affacciano infatti su una strada molto trafficata e, se avessi dormito lì, il mio giudizio non avrebbe superato le due stelle. L'albergo è molto vicino alla zona pedonale centrale di Timisoara. Colazione dignitosa.

First of all not to be confused this hotel is called Hotel Continental. I must agree with many travelers saying it is dated, but it was OK for us for a one night stay. Hotel location is excellent being in the very center with all attractions in a 10 min walking distance. In front is a big parking lot - payable on weekdays, free on weekends. Probably the ugliest thing is the exterior - a classic communist era concrete block edifice. Lobby is big, check in was fast with kind staff explaining all amenities. Room was OK, dated again - specially the bathroom. Satellite TV and small mini bar, average beds, AC set to max - couldn't turn it down, so it was hot like in sauna. Breakfast was good. Pool is fair in size, heated, but very overcrowded - seems that also non-guests can use it. Hot tubs looked dirty with stain water and jets didn't work so did not use it. Overall, considering the price, location and amenities it was good for a night stay.

Wir waren zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber. Das Bad war größer als der Durchschnitt, und mit einem Bidet ausgestattet, was sehr selten, dafür umso angenehmer ist. Die Klimaanlage lief auf Grund der Temperaturen auf Hochtouren und kühlte das Zimmer angenem, so dass ein guter Nachtschlaf möglich war. Die Betten waren außerhalb jeder Kritik. Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße, was sehr angenehm ist. Der hoteleigene Parkplatz ist ausreichend groß. Das Frühstück bot für jeden Geschmack etwas. Die angebotenen Speisen wurden frisch nachgelegt. Das Obst und Gemüse war frisch und von ausgezeichneter Qualität. Wir werden das Hotel immer wieder auswählen.

Abbiamo avuto un buon soggiorno in questo conveniente hotel. Mio marito ha partecipato a una conferenza internazionale e abbiamo soggiornato pochi giorni per vedere la città. L'hotel è situato nella città storico passeggiabile e è stato un luogo perfetto da cui vedere la città. La zona è piena di piazze, negozi e siti storici, la nostra stanza è confortevole e la ricezione ha risposto alle domande quando necessario.

We booked a room in the hotel for an overnight stay as we were traveling to our final destination in the south of Romania. The hotel room was clean and quite big. Though we arrived after 11 PM we found hot water to have a shower for both myself and my partner ( it's always annoying when arriving in a hotel and there is no how water). We found also a parking place right next to the hotel even if we arrived late. Another advantage for us was that the hotel has 24/7 reception as anybody who needs to cross the border knows that you can never estimate that time. They have also the possibility to have breakfast in the morning which is not included in the hotel price. The offer for the breakfast was quite good ranging from eggs to different types of cheese and hams and so on. Overall if you want to eat well in the morning the breakfast they are offering is a good variety. The hotel is not centrally located so maybe I wouldn't recommend it to somebody who wants to visit Timisoara ( unless they want to take the car and drive) but for us as a stop along our way the location was perfect - close to the highway and the gas station and easy to get in an out of the cities outskirts.
