We were not aware of the late check in procedures but thankfully the staff (Dana) reached out and sorted it out for us, otherwise we might have been locked out! The hotel,building and room looks clean and new. Although it's located right above Taringa train station, we did not hear any sounds from the trains at all during our stay. Covered parking is available for a fee or there is usually street parking. If you are checking in, there is a loading zone next to the hotel. As the hotel is on a steep slope, might be worthwhile parking as near you can to unload. Although there is no housekeeping services for short stays, the front desk are helpful with any requests always. Overall, a great affordable find for a new-ish hotel and minutes away from the CBD, UQ and westfield indooroopilly.

Very helpful, clean and friendly. The only concern I had was the fire escape plan. We were on the ground floor and the outdoor area was surrounded by aluminium lattice work which was welded shut. The only way out was back through the one way hallway to the exit doors. If there was a fire you would have to climb 2m over the lattice to get out. When I asked about it they said it's a brick building so you don't have to really worry about fire....😬

Loc Super convenient location on the corner of Jephson St and Sherwood Rd, with the popular Toowong Village Shopping Centre, a 10 minute walk away. The Toowong railway station can be accessed directly from the shopping centre. There are plenty of buses trundling up and down Sherwood Rd heading in various directions to the city or to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre further south. The nearest ferry terminal is Regatta, less than a km away, but at the time of writing it is still under repair following last year's floods. Room We found the room to be clean, comfortable and spacious, with a large king bed, two bedside tables, each with a drawer and a lamp, a TV on the wall, and a handy desk for working at. On the balcony, was a small table and two chairs. There were plenty of power points to charge appliances and the downlights were strong enough for easy reading. The stylish touch lamp on the desk and standing lamp in the corner were useful for extra illumination. There was a hanging rail with about eight hangers. There were two sets of two drawers, one underneath the hanging rail and the safe, with one larger set underneath the TV. They were reasonably sized, but being virtually on the floor, they were super inconvenient to access. I can’t understand why the designers didn’t think of this, because it’s extra difficult to get down so low, especially if you’re a bit older, or with knee problems. Also in the room was a safe but that too required bending down. On top of the safe and below the hanging rail was a shelf to store one suitcase. The tea and coffee making facilities were also very difficult to access as they were rammed into a little shelf snuck between the drawers and the desk-top. The room though was quiet, being at the back of the property and therefore not facing directly onto either Jephson Street or Sherwood Rd, both busy roads. One could hear some noise from within the hotel as people walked up and down the corridor, but it was a minor inconvenience and most fellow guests seemed friendly and well behaved. There wasn’t much of a view, and the room just looked out onto the sprawling next door apartment complex, and to the right between the trees we could see Jephson Street, and the traffic going up and down, but the sound didn’t carry into the bedroom if the balcony door was kept closed. Bathroom The bathroom was not an en-suite, being situated in the passageway, between the front door and the bed. That was just as well, as it had a sliding door, which is never great for privacy, although it could be locked. But the bathroom was modern and stylish, and the water pressure in the shower was strong. A transparent glass wall separated the bathroom from the bedroom, which shocked me when I first saw it. I immediately phoned the reception to tell them that we needed another room due to the lack of bathroom privacy. To be honest, I'm not sure how Opera Apartments South Bank has such a high rating. Here's a breakdown of the good and bad. Good: o Fully equipped kitchen o Balcony with outdoor table and chairs o WiFi is good at ＞50/50 Mbps. o The rooftop pool and BBQ areas are nice. The pool is a great place from which to watch the sunset. o Fantastic location. Very convenient for attending conferences at the exhibition centre. Bad: o Cockroaches in our bathroom and kitchen! Once it was dark, cockroaches came out in our bathroom and kitchen. On the first night, we killed four in the bathroom and two in the kitchen. o The front door has no signage to indicate where to enter Opera apartments. The door to enter the building does not automatically open and often the reception is unattended. So you have to use the keypad at the door to even gain entry to the building. We saw lots of new arrivals who were left very confused by the system. o We arrived at 12:30 pm and checked in, but as check-in time is not until 2 pm we dropped our luggage and then went off to grab lunch and coffee. We returned at 2 pm but were advised that our room still wasn't ready. We were told the room would be ready at 2:40 pm. Since we had already had lunch, we had nothing to do but sit around in the reception area until our room was ready. At 2:47 pm we were advised that the room would be ready in 10 mins. The room was then ready at 2:57 pm. When we entered the room it had a chemical smell and the kitchen floor was still wet after cleaning. o The walls were covered in dust. Additionally, all the air conditioning vents were caked with dust. There was an insane amount of dust behind the bed. As someone with allergies, we had to be very careful not to disturb the dust otherwise I would have been sneezing the whole time. o No tissues were provided. o No towels were provided for the pool. o The hallway had an unpleasant smell. Then the room also smelt but it was a completely different unpleasant smell. o The tv was fairly small. Only about 40”. o We were on level 3 and we couldn't have our balcony door open as there was a loud noise from air conditioning units under us and the building next door. With the door closed though the noise of the air-conditioning units outside wasn't an issue (but then you're trapped with the smell!) Overall, I do not recommend Opera Apartments South Bank. Complete waste of money. Still traumatised from all the cockroaches coming out during the night and the smell in the apartment.

Abbiamo prenotato questo alloggio, guardando il fiume molto vicino all'ospedale Wesley. Ho parlato con Kerrin direttamente al momento della prenotazione e poi l'ho incontrato al check-in. Era molto professionale e utile. Ho chiesto un check-out tardivo, con cui ha assistito, ma dipende dal giorno, più il parcheggio successivo, che è stato molto utile. Il bagno, la camera da letto e la sala salone erano puliti e tutto era in buone condizioni di lavoro. Ho letto una o due scarse recensioni, che erano invero inesperte nella nostra esperienza, a causa del buon valore per i soldi, ci sorprendevano piacevolmente. Per coloro che hanno fatto scarse recensioni su questi appartamenti, dovrebbero considerare di pagare il prezzo per un tasso di alloggio 5 stelle altrove, perché si paga per quello che si ottiene e questi appartamenti erano sicuramente buoni e puliti. Torneremo se avremo bisogno di visitare nuovamente la zona.

Bello appartamento pulito 1-bedroom con cucina ben accanto e letto confortevole. Molto centrale a South Bank e West End e vicino al fiume front. Solo auspicare che spendano qualche soldo per riscaldare la piscina durante l'autunno e i mesi invernali. Se il tuo appartamento si trova a Edmondstone Street, si sta costruendo un appartamento ad alta velocità e le squadre iniziano a lavorare alle 7:00, che può essere rumore.
