MMitchell PorThis is a lovely hotel with excellent service and friendly, helpful staff. My room included complimentary yoga classes at the monastery, which was a wonderful experience.
The location is very convenient, just an 8-minute walk to Boudhanath Stupa, with cafes and shops lining the street in between.

SSouled OutLe camere sono pulite, le scale ampi, il colazione giornaliera, ogni richiesta può essere organizzata.L'hotel si trova a un angolo tranquillo, lontano da bianchi, ghiacci e motociclisti a sinistra e a destra. Cammino breve al centro, può accedere a cibo cinese halal dopo una sinistra, poi una destra e un'altra sinistra alla giunzione. Tutti entro 5 minuti a 10 minuti a piedi. Il pick-up aeroportuale è un servizio più. Un minimo di soli 3 minuti a piedi se hai bisogno di qualche snack.

UUtente ospiteUn fantastico hotel con belle architetture e dettagli in legno. Incredibilemente amichevole e accogliente personale. Iogia gratuita al mattino sul tetto e una passeggiata sono forniti su richiesta. Le camere sono grandi con molta luce. Il bagno è funzionale con buona pressione idrica. Per l'inverno, viene fornito un cavo elettrico, un riscaldamento portatile e bottiglie d'acqua calda. Delizioso e buon prezzo colazione. Amazing value for money.

UUtente ospiteThe Hotel Barahi Kathmandu is in a great location, walking distance to great souvenirs in Thamal, tourist sites like the Garden of Dreams and the former Royal Palace.
The hotel staff were so friendly, engaging and helpful. The hotel has a pool up on level 7 with great views of Kathmandu. The only flaw with the pool is it is surrounded by the restaurant, so no one swims in it.
I had a suite the room was beautiful, very happy with the cleanliness and room service. The only flaw with the room is that it backed on to the service area for staff who were all working very hard, but there was banging and clanging all night and morning.

UUtente ospiteThe hotel isn’t in a touristy area, so there’s not much to see around, but that also means it’s quiet and only about 10–15 minutes from the airport. The room was clean and comfy with a nice view, and the rooftop infinity pool was amazing — perfect spot for couples to chill and enjoy the sunset.
The restaurant was okay, and the staff were super nice and helpful. The gym is small but has enough equipment for a quick workout. I also tried their massage service — really good and great value for money.
Overall, a very pleasant and relaxing stay. Great choice if you want somewhere peaceful but still convenient!

NNenanIl nostro aereo è arrivato a Kathmandu alle 22:00, e ci è voluto un'eternità per passare il controllo immigrazione, così siamo usciti dall'aeroporto quasi alle 23:00. Avevamo inviato una email all'hotel in anticipo per richiedere il servizio navetta, e pensavamo che a quell'ora tarda e senza un numero di telefono per contattarci, non ci sarebbe stato nessuno ad aspettarci. Ma tra la folla di persone che aspettavano i taxi all'uscita, abbiamo visto il nostro nome su un cartello! È stata una sorpresa inaspettata e un'accoglienza molto calorosa per chi arriva in un posto nuovo! Ci hanno portati in hotel. La posizione è ottima, nel vivace cuore di Thamel, proprio sotto c'è un ristorante cinese. L'hotel è uno degli edifici più alti della zona, con un ristorante panoramico in vetro al 12° piano e una piscina e spa all'11° piano; il design è piuttosto audace. La colazione era buona! Anche il servizio era attento. È comodo per spostarsi, in 6 minuti di risciò si arriva a Durbar Square. La dimensione della camera era adeguata, ma avevamo chiesto un piano alto e ci è stato dato solo il quarto, il che è stato un po' deludente. Inoltre, c'era un forte odore di scarico dal bagno che, anche chiudendo la porta, si diffondeva nella stanza. Questo problema di odore è legato all'hardware e alla manutenzione e andrebbe migliorato. Per il resto, tutto bene!

UUtente ospiteThe room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it.
Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out.
At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service!
Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on.
I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw!
Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome.
All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return.
As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

UUtente anonimoLocation is alright, there’s occasional cockroaches running past you when you are in the room, cleanliness has a lot to improve on. Worst part is that I booked a single room and was given a room next to the elevator with a window without curtain, anyone tall enough would be able to look into my room and everything in it, to add on to that, the room was next to the elevator and you can hear every footstep and noise/chat coming from the corridor, and when the elevator moves, there’s this super unnecessary music that runs with it so you would get a sense of that throughout the day and night. When I went to the receptionist to ask for a different room, she told me there’s no other rooms available and I have to pay an extra 1500 rupee to upgrade to a different room, that amount, adding with the original I paid for- would already be much higher than a standard deluxe room. Obviously she and the hotel was trying to scam me by leveraging on giving a super lousy room at first. Even though they eventually agreed to change room for me at no charge, I was honestly traumatised by this hotel and was uncomfortable through the stay. Then at check-out in the next morning, the guy was reluctant to let me go asking if I had already paid and making calls to confirm about it. Overall there’s surely better rooms for similar price in Thamel, so do try to skip this hotel unless you like some good memorable reasons to spoil your trip.

UUtente ospiteSono rimasto per 2 notti, non mi sentivo sicuro come una sola donna che viaggiava. Una volta la prima notte circa le 11:00 ci erano 3-4 uomini urlando e ridendo e mi hanno tagliato la porta. Mi sono spaventato e mi sono chiamato la ricezione. Il telefono non era collegato al telefono, devo tenerlo stretto al telefono mentre parlavo. Era una terribile esperienza. Quando in emergenza nemmeno il telefono funzionava! il ricevitore ha preso 30 minuti per far calmare gli uomini. Il giorno dopo, il ricevitore mi disse che gli uomini si erano trasferiti. Ma li ho visti la sera all'hotel. Non mi sentivo al sicuro. Ancora, gli uomini, urlando e alti. Anche se non riuscivo a dormire lì, svegliato per due notti, non mi sentivo al sicuro. Il posto era pulito, la posizione era buona.
