Hotel con colazione a Otaru

Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Villa was very well kept, with excellent views of the ocean. Pleasantly surprised by complimentary puddings and drinks. Manual grinder and coffee beans were a nice touch. Cons: Unable to drive directly to the villa due to safety policy. This made loading/unloading luggage very inconvenient. The walk to the carpark required negotiating a slippery gravel slope, which was even more dangerous in low-light conditions. Recommend to improve this with proper stairs or paved pathway.

We booked the best room on the top floor and spent 7 nights at this high end and extremely expensive ryokan/hotel. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: The food is amazing in terms of presentation, gastronomy and service. The place is immaculately clean. The views a fantastic! We got comfortable Yukatas and overall the place has a very nice traditional vibe.  CONS: They seem to be completely inapt in hosting people who don’t speak Japanese. No one speaks English at this place. None at all! They write that we can “press 9 and call the reception”, but once you do it – you can’t have any conversation with anyone at all. Even when you get down in person to the reception, no one can really communicate with you, even with Google Translate.  They exhibit zero flexibility. The approach is – it’s our way or the highway. All is extremely polite, but no left, no right! Can we have a laundry service arranged? The answer is “no!”. Can we communicate with you via WhatsApp or email? – No! Can we come later to breakfast? No. Can we have dinner at a later time, since we can’t come earlier just this one day? No! Basically, if you want to sleep a bit later during your vacation – forget it! Either show up at 8 or 8:30 am for breakfast, or go hungry! Can we buy your Yukata? – No! Also, we were asked to indicate every day what time we intend to go out – something that adds pressure, as  on vacation one may want to improvise, rather than plan ahead their outings.  Given that this place charges exuberant prices, the lack of the most basic hospitality features (communication, laundry, customer-focused flexibility) is astounding! We now staying at another Ryokan, 90 minutes away and see that everyone can speak some English and the place is much more focused on the needs of a foreign traveler, as opposed on preserving the holy rigidity of an existent system.

Il vento è davvero super grande e super freddo quel giorno e la sera. Il tempo è un po'sombra. La stanza ha una piccola piazza. Puoi aprire la porta e guardare il mare. La superficie è anche grande, c'è un divano, la testa è metà morbida e metà grano, quindi alla fine la spalla è stata aperta a metà morbida, la letto morbida e moderata, molto amichevole per il topo. Dopo il contatto anticipato con il mese di compleanno, ha dato una carta di compleanno con il cuore, un viaggio super mosso.

We stayed here for 1 night before driving to Biei. The hotel, housed in an art deco building is very charming. It is modern yet preserving its old school charm. The check-in staff was very attentive. We were parked in the driveway to unload our luggage and he came out to help bring our luggage into the reception. We booked a Superior King Room and it was spacious, comfy. Relatively clean, although I wished it was less dusty. I had rashes in the morning from my dust allergy. Free flow drinks, including local wines, were served in the bar in the evening. Breakfast was delicious, presented in a high tea set and served to the table. Coffee, tea, juices were available too.

This hotel is impressive, with great location (just opposite JR otaru station) and awesome onsen. The onsen is amazing. Indoor, there's a sauna, 2 hot pools and 1 cold pool. There are 2 additional hot pools outdoor. If you have a tattoo, you can ask the reception for tattoo stickers. The view is also beautiful. Will stay in this hotel again if i ever come back to otaru.

È stato un bel hotel boutique con belle strutture bonus! La stanza è ben progettata e funzionale, con colori caldi si sentono a casa e confortevole. È troppo male non abbiamo ottenuto la camera da bagno come erano completamente prenotate. Viste dalla finestra è zona montana, molto bello! Letto e le mutandine sono comodi. La superficie per le cose sono generose e pratiche, anche abbastanza spazio per il divano. È troppo male non dare caffè gratuito o almeno caffè istantaneo, solo tè. Nessuna merda. La notte della cassetta musicale è stata fantastica! Mi sento come un ambiente romantico per cena, ma l’odore di olio di lampada era troppo, mi ha fatto male la testa, così non potevo stare per molto, anche se mi piacerebbe sostenere gli hotel e tutti i membri del personale gentile e amichevole mangiando li. Il personale è meraviglioso, sorridente e amichevole e professionale! Durante questo viaggio abbiamo sentito che il personale giapponese in generale sta diventando un po' freddo verso i turisti, ma il personale di questo hotel non è così! Vi apprezziamo, ragazzi. Grazie!

Honestly the only praise to give to this hotel is the staff attitude and the location which is near the canal. The staffs were-Helpful and dedicated .  I can accept the hotel is old and not so spacious. But one thing I really can’t take it is the level of the bathroom. I can’t understand why the level is so high. We need to step a big leap to climb in order to get into the bathroom. Also to get into the bathtub to stand to shower was dangerous too. It was unbelievable deep. I almost fell.  This hotel is really not suitable for elderly people. And need to pay extra careful attention when you climb to the bathroom and to the bathtub. Sometimes I do not understand why can’t just list out that you would need to collect onsen tax. If I know I need to pay for that I would not want to choose this hotel. Because I do not go for the onsen.

It's an interesting experience as the hotel is situated at the outskirts. The onsen in the room is perfect, with a perfect seat view. Room is pretty old school and big. As the location is pretty remote, there isn't much night activity around. It is pretty kind of the hotel to offer shuttle service to Otaru JR.

Grazie alla presenza di una signora che parlava cinese alla reception, la comunicazione è stata incredibilmente fluida. I servizi dell'hotel non erano esattamente nuovi, ma erano adeguati. Lo stabilimento balneare in stile locale non era esattamente lussuoso, ma era comunque piacevole immergersi e rilassarsi dopo una giornata sugli sci: una vera delizia.

I booked for RM150, and this is my best hotel I stayed in Sapporo. The location is near the tourist area but its within neighborhood area, and its uphill. So for anyone with luggage might be struggling a bit if u dont have car. But, the view is amazing, and they gave me a room with snow view as i requested. The room are spotless, comfortable and have personal heater inside. The staff also very friendly and accomodating esp when I asked to borrow a charger. The public bath also big and u might have it all to yourself honestly (not that many guest during my stay). I would love to come back!
