Within mere steps are restaurants (Mutha Stuffers, Chez Henri French restaurant, A La Carte, and The Reks bar), Mountainside Ski Shop, day care/school, and heated summer pool (as seen from balcony). The main level has a relaxing balcony with spectacular views spanning the mountain and the Mad River Valley. See the Valley House Quad, Super Bravo, Heaven’s Gate, and Village Quad lifts spinning and watch skiers on Stein's Run, Murphy's Glades, Spring Fling, and Lower Snowball. Vaulted living room has gas fireplace, comfy furnishings, updated decor which is changed to reflect season and is perfect for viewing the torchlight parade and fireworks during holiday weeks. Dining area has a custom-crafted banquette, the bathrooms are renovated and plush spa towels are provided. Ski to the Village Quad lift via the "Out Road" trail or get to the base lodge via a 5 minute walk over the covered bridge or take the shuttle. Ski back on the "Out-to-Lunch" or "Easy Rider" and "In Road" trails that lead skiers to just below this unit's balcony. If you're looking for more activities, it's a 5 minute walk to the Sugarbush Health & Rec Center, or peruse antique & local artisan shops, then sample the cuisine at the many restaurants in Warren and Waitsfield. When you stay at our place you automatically have access to the Pico lot and two car spaces.If you stay at Killington you are limited to the few choices there that are always crazy busy and super expensive, and farther away from the affordable and convenient shopping, restaurants, etc in Rutland. This is the sweet spot, trust us, as we have been coming to Vermont and skied every mountain in the State since the 1980s, and we picked Pico for all of these reasons.Pico is the "locals" mountain, much less hassle to get to and around, it feels like a private mountain, yet Killington is 5 minutes away for more action. Regardless of the season, this location has it all. Fantastic mountain biking trails are very close by, and you can walk to the Long Trail or AT for hiking or snowshoeing. Snowmobile trails are right next to the entrance to Pico as well. Kayak or canoe or just swim in the Chittenden Reservoir minutes away also, or Lake Bomoseen. There are also various rural farms worth visiting and other quaint small Vermont towns nearby. For example, a short drive away in Peru, VT (where the 80s movie "Baby Boom" was filmed) you will find Wild Wings which offers fireside yoga in a beautiful country setting along with JJ Hapgood, a quaint general store and eatery.Venture to Rawsonville (10 minute drive) and hit up the restaurants Family Kitchen or, across the street, Honeypie. There is also a coffee shop and a beer shop, a convenience store, and several sporting goods shops.The village of Stratton has several very good restaurants, bars, high end shopping, and a general store.
