Sud Africa: hotel con palestra nella provincia di Capo Occidentale

Venendo in Sudafrica per la prima volta mi confortò di rimanere in un hotel conosciuto. Usavamo la navetta aeroportuale. Un allenatore accompagnò il nostro conducente. C'era una miscela con il numero di persone, quindi non c'era abbastanza spazio nella macchina per tutti. Il treno è rimasto all'aeroporto (che sarà poi preso) mentre il conducente ci ha portati all'hotel. Così sacrificioso e bello! Ci sono state goduto la decorazione dell'hotel e l'atmosfera rilassata che le divano offerte nel ristorante. Abbiamo soggiornato in una suite fantastica, e il personale era molto amichevole e disposto a aiutare con qualsiasi cosa.

Room and especially the bathroom were small but adequate for a few nights. Breakfast in the attached restaurant was good with many options and an omelet station. There is a market that sets up every day in the square directly across from the hotel, however, this was not an issue. Our room did not overlook the square but overlooked rooftops. The bottom half of the window was frosted to block the rooftops. The rooftop pool and pool area is small. The location is the best reason to stay here. With your back to the market, walk down Longmarket or Shortmarket street to catch the Hop on Hop Off bus on Long street or continue to Bree Street for restaurant options including Hacienda (Mexican obviously), Burger & Lobster (limited but excellent menu and great bar). SCAM One evening, when we were heading to Bree Street, we were stopped by a gentleman with a security lanyard telling us the street ahead was closed because they were filming a movie. We could pass if we scanned a credit card into a wall mounted device. No charge but they need our names to protect the filming equipment. We declined and went up another street to the restaurant. Road not blocked, no filming equipment. We were glad we were suspicious. Amazing how you could be duped by a security lanyard.

Overall a good experience at the hotel. Was greeted promptly by a staff member. Got a good room on the highest floor and the hotel was smelling of Indian spices (what a great way to start off). It was the slow season so two of the three elevators were operating. Did not wait that long. The rooms were small. Would recommend only staying about three nights. Great for people traveling business. Breakfast was good and had good seats. Wasn't crowded and did not need to come at a specific time. Laptop vault worked. The adapters did not. Luckily I got some Euro plugs which actually worked in the bathroom area (no where else). There is a USB port by the bed but those are not that quick. Wifi was good in the room but not that good in the lobby. I slept comfortably and it was quiet. Easy to get Uber. Would stay again (if I am on a short business trip). Tip: Do not exchange money at the lobby UNLESS it is an emergency. Also, know where you go and do not look lost.

This is a very nice (new) hotel close to the downtown and Waterfront area. A twenty minute walk to either location (not an easy walk) - they do have canal water taxi service available to take you to the waterfront. Definitely worth the experience. The breakfast service is delightful but can get crowded at times due to their catering of large tour groups. Rooms are nice, AC unit works very well, showers hot, tv selection extensive, and service awesome. Recommend for those looking for a very nice hotel at a reasonable rate. One downfall to the hotel / location is that is bucks up to the container / shipping area so when vessels come in you will hear a lot of container unloading noise at night. Ask for an ”even” numbered room so you are on the opposite side and you get a view of Table Mountain

Having travelled extensively and stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, I can confidently state that my recent experience was the worst ever. Despite seeing several negative reviews about their service, I thought they were just occasional lapses. However, I soon discovered that the hotel had a persistent service problem. I had a problem with my reservation and spent two days trying to resolve it, but no one cared. To make matters worse, I was charged ten times the amount I had originally paid for the same room (i.e., $300 instead of $30) without any reasonable explanation. When I questioned this, the staff merely shrugged it off, citing fluctuating prices as the reason. The lady in charge of reservations was extremely rude and disrespectful throughout the ordeal. In addition to the issues with my reservation and the exorbitant charges, the air conditioner was not working properly and made a lot of noise. Furthermore, the fridge in my room made a huge noise, which disturbed my sleep at 2 am (I recorded a video as proof). Moreover, the noise levels in the dormitory were unacceptable all the night! making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. In short, I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice and look for other options.

La posizione è un po' lontana dal v&a acquafront e centro città. È necessario uscire Uber ogni volta. Inoltre, tutto è fantastico dal personale alla sala da servizio al cibo per la camera anche molto buona.

Super bel posto per rimanere.🏖️ Se viaggiate con noi, la casa di soggiorno è fantastica, l'ospite è molto amichevole, la colazione è ancora lodevole, fresco e delizioso. La posizione è vicino a Radisson, intorno alla casa di spiaggia, camminare a bordo per tre minuti, e la polizia è buona.

I want to start by saying that my low review has nothing to do with the game drive or the accommodations, but instead the management and their inability to provide a solution to a problem that was their own fault. I booked this stay for my girlfriend’s birthday 6 months ago. (Her birthday was never acknowledged during our stay here by the way). In my package, I booked and paid for a 90 minute massage for the 2 of us. When we arrived to Gondwana, we asked about our spa treatments, but we were told by management they did not have us booked. They told us there was change in their booking system during July 2023 when we booked, and they had never transferred our spa reservation over, although they still had confirmation of our purchase. We asked for a resolution because we had been looking forward to these spa treatments. They offered us 60 minute massages during our afternoon game drive, which we obviously didn’t want to miss (plus the package I bought included 90 minute massages, not 60 minutes). The only other solution that was offered was for one of us to receive a massage on the morning of check out—Also not a good solution. We asked if there was any other compensation that we could receive for the inconvenience, but we were only offered a refund for the spa treatments. What makes all of this so frustrating is that they admitted this issue was their own fault when they failed to transfer our reservation in the booking system, but due to a lack of resolution, it felt like it was our fault for being uninformed and unprepared. We chose Gondwana because we heard it was the most prestigious game reserve in all of the Cape, but the lack of care for an inconvenience in our travels that was their fault has left us extremely disappointed. For a place of this caliber, they could do more than just offer a “sorry.” This is a very expensive stay, and you would think that would equate to caring about the guest, but it doesn’t. I want to mention that our game drive guide, Ruan has been nothing short of incredible. We’ve loved every minute of our game drives, along with the service at the restaurant and the luggage and housekeeping crew. But that is their job, to provide excellent service, and management should be held to the same standard. Unfortunately, with the lack of care of our reservation from management, what could have been a once in a lifetime time experience is left feeling flat.

Celebrato il compleanno di mia madre. Ci piaceva il nostro soggiorno, amava la piscina e la nostra camera era spaziosa e pulita. Il buffet è un buon colazione, vorrei avere pancake o waffles per i vegetariani.L'hotel si trova nel cuore di Knysna- corto cammino verso l'acqua, molti ristoranti e attività. Parcheggio disponibile sul sito per ZAR30 p/notte e tassa turistica ZAR30 p/notte. Il nostro check-in era 30 minuti dopo, un po' deluso (14:30), ma comprendiamo che era il periodo di picco. Altrimenti, consigliamo e ritorneremo certamente!

Il nostro soggiorno familiare in questo hotel sarebbe stato spettacolare se non fosse per l'atteggiamento rotto del manager dell'hotel chiamato Galen. Dopo che ha mandato il suo staff a fare un giro intorno alle stanze di ricetta dopo le 22:30 per scoprire se qualcuno di noi aveva ordinato un pasto che alcuni ospiti non pagavano, così che potessero andare a casa. Siamo stati addormentati rapidamente quando si sono battuti come pianificavamo di dormire presto per il nostro volo mattinale iniziale con una partenza alle 6:00. Ci svegliarono per chiederci qualcosa che non avevamo idea di scusarci dopo e lasciare, e nessuno di noi dormirebbe dopo fino alle 1:00. Quando si affrontò con lei per chiederle perché mandò persone a svegliarci e a esprimere la nostra frustrazione, non mostrava alcuna rimpianto o responsabilità per la sua decisione e ci disse semplicemente che non c'era nulla che potesse fare, doveva sapere. Quando ci chiese di tè di camomilla, rideva nei nostri volti e disse che non avevano niente e non c'era niente che potessero fare per aiutarci dopo averci svegliati, e andò via lasciandoci lì. Abbiamo pagato per assicurare un sonno tranquillo e confortevole solo per svegliarsi per qualcosa che non aveva niente a che fare con noi e per avere un atteggiamento distintivo in cambio. Egli aveva promesso di fare dei colazione e di mandarli in camera nostra per la mattina prossima per la nostra partenza precoce, e non li abbiamo mai visto.

great hotel in Mossel bay! We didn't realize Mossel Bay was a busy commercial port, but the hotel delivered: a nice room, comfortable bed, plenty of room and a nice sitting area complete with small kitchenette! We had a nice view of the harbor and were welcomed and shown to our room with kind hospitality. The property is nice and we ended up eating in the restaurant adjacent for dinner: Cafe Gannet. It was was packed, and we know why--terrific food and service! Although Mossel Bay itself was somewhat disappointing for us as part of the ”Garden Route”, the hotel was terrific.

Ok. Lots to say! We booked a 9am drive and arrived at the dirt road into the reserve with 40 minutes to spare. The road said closed! So we used google maps and information on their website and found another entrance for the lodges. So we drove for 40 minutes thinking we would just make it. But we couldn’t access the site there! So we went into the lodge reception and they called ahead and rebooked us on the 1pm and said they had reserved a table for us in the restaurant. And they told us to ignore the road closed sign! So another 40 minute drive back only to find the table reservation was not for anything complimentary! They could have emailed us to advise us to ignore the road closed sign but didn’t. The manager could barely apologise for what he called a minor inconvenience! To us, that was a stressful 90 minutes of extra driving! We had already filled in the online indemnity form- but they wanted a paper copy despite them saying in the on line form ‘save the trees’. To add insult to injury, the manager said he would come back to us about something complimentary but never did. We then went on the drive, got stuck in a mud ditch and had to wait for an alternative vehicle, which was filthy and uncomfortable compared to the first vehicle. Overall a memorable day for the wrong reasons. At least we saw some incredible animals.
