Paraguay: hotel con palestra nella provincia di Distretto di Asunción

Our stay at Sheraton started on the wrong foot although it might not have been the hotel’s fault. My Marriott Suite Night Award request was approved but when we arrived at the hotel we were told that suites were fully booked and they had no idea why my SNAs went through. So we stayed in a club room for the first night but were moved to the presidential suite on the second night and which was highly appreciated. The first room was an old generation Sheraton room: rough carpet, shower in tub, subpar soundproofing, toiletries were unbranded local stuff, also the bathroom door did not close properly and there was no lock. One positive was that the bed was unmistakably a Sheraton bed = comfortable. The presidential suite was equivalent to 4 normal rooms in terms of size according to the floor plan. It was still a fairly aging room but with the extra space it was very useful to us including our 18-month daughter who was very happy and could run around. Service was quite good during our stay with various staff members addressing us by name which is not that common at a hotel of Sheraton level which is not supposed to be considered luxury like Ritz Carlton or St.Regis. One manager was quite visible during our stay, she welcomed us at check-in, she was greeting guests in the restaurant for breakfast in the morning, same during happy hour in the lounge, and she also stopped by before our departure when we checked out. I also received an e-mail after our stay to inform us that they found one item in the room and asked if we wanted to send someone to pick it up. Most hotels don’t even bother with a “lost and found” service so kudos to Sheraton Asuncion. Regarding dining, happy hour in the lounge and breakfast in the restaurant were above average, and the in-room dining menu and prices were quite good relative to what we could find in the city including in the large shopping mall next door. I also noted that wifi was blazing fast at 350+ Mbps, one of the best I have seen anywhere in the world – not the kind of hotel where I would have guessed this to be the case. Overall this is not a new and modern hotel but when judging a hotel I always compare to the local competition. The other choices I noticed are an Aloft, an Ibis, a Holiday Inn Express, and a Crowne Plaza. Except for the latter I don’t think there are any other international hotel chains remotely close to the level of Sheraton and given the good service and dining, as Marriott Bonvoy Elite I would return to Sheraton.

The Palmaroga Hotel is my favorite hotel in downtown Asuncion. The historic building has been beautifully restored, the rooms are elegant and comfortable, the rooftop terrace with its poo and view is wonderful, and most importantly the staff are exceptional. The people who work at reception and at the door are always ready to greet guests warmly and to provide friendly and authentic service. The hotel has a good restaurant on site, a steakhouse next door, and is walking distance from many other excellent dining options. Within walking distance to all major points of interest in the downtown area. 10 puntos!

My goodness. No clue where to start. I stayed here 20 years ago the last time and absolutely nothing has changed until today. Mud and dirt everywhere even inside the public hallways, the elevator not working, breakfast was good but cramped. Staff couldn’t even say good morning (in Spanish), rooms are in dire need of pairing and renovation. Dirty walls, stained furniture, missing lightbulbs. No soundproofing whatsoever, bathrooms straight out if 1970. cramped and cluttered decoration out of someone’s worst nightmare. My goodness what a disappointment. Four stars? Not even 1. Tje only good thing was the area which is one of the best of Asunción. This hotel is a bad example of how a hotel should not be: old, neglected, dirty and cramped with cheap , noisy tourgroups that yell loudly all night. Pay a little more and get the Los Alpes or Le Pelican next door. Don’t ruin your vacation in this fantastic country by staying in a pocilga run by greedy , unscrupulous individuals without morals.

Lo mejor el personal en general, todos muy amables, simpáticos,tanto de recepción como de cafetería y bar y también de limpieza, todos muy bien dispuestos a informar, solucionar cualquier problema, en ese sentido impecable la atención. Muy buena la ubicación, creo debe ser la mejor, de acuerdo a lo que conocí de Asuncion, frente a Shopping del Sol y a una cuadra de Shopping del Paseo. El desayuno muy completo y de buena calidad. La habitación es un poco pequeña para una estadía de muchos días, la cama es cómoda, mantienen la limpieza diariamente. Lo peor fue q no pudimos regular la temperatura de la habitación pues el aire acondicionado funciona solo p aire frío y además hay aire frío de la ventilación del corredor que entra a la habitación por lo que entre el calor de afuera y el frío de adentro nos engripamos.

L'hotel si trova nel cuore di Villa Morra circondato dal miglior shopping della zona, tuttavia non invadere l'attività per un buon riposo, a meno che nel mio caso la camera era molto piccola e una delle pareti era una finestra di parete per parete e anche se Aveva una cortina disturbava la chiarezza, peraltro è l'hotel ideale se si vuole fare affari o turismo a Asunción. Buon WiFi, ha un Juan Valdez accanto al lobby, il bar alla sera e la colazione sono nel pannello con belle viste e bellissimo fresco, c'è anche una piscina ma la zona è piccola. Delizioso e completo colazione, riducita ma buone opzioni nella lettera del tuo bar, i suoi bevande molto buone e la picche che ho provato mi piaceva a prezzi ragionevoli anche. Super raccomandato. Quel tema di chiarezza gli ha abbassato 1 stella, peraltro eccellente.

Buen servicio de bar y restaurante, habitaciones cómodas y buena atención. Estuve para un evento en el hotel y las salas estaban separadas en lugares muy lejanos. No sé si es un tema de la organización del evento o del hotel pero no habían direcciones claras respecto a donde encontrar las salas. Hubieron problemas con el ascensor en varios días, se nota que las instalaciones y ascensor tienen ya muchos años, quizá fue por el uso de esa semana.
